"A part of him wanted to stalk Em and hound her until she gave him a second chance. But he didn’t even know if she was involved with someone else. Or married."

"No. Please no." (SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH HYPOCRISY !!!!!!)

"A pang of guilt surged through him. Now he understood what Em must have felt the night he broke up with her and told her he was going to marry Nicole. "

"It had not taken long for his marriage to Nicole to fall apart. They discovered they were good as friends, but as a couple they’d made each other miserable."
........

“Are you married and afraid your husband will think—”

“Nope. I’m at my dad’s house now. But maybe you should consider how Nicole would feel if—”

“We’ve been divorced for over a year.” ( A LOT OF INCONSISTENCY HERE???)

........

"Matt smiled. He remembered how hard she had been working THAT YEAR THEY WERE TOGHETER. Trying to finish up part-time college courses while working part-time for her father as well as another job at Kinko’s. He used to feel guilty when he tried to get her to spend as much time with him as possible."

“You are so talented. Did you get a job offer in Philadelphia? Is that why you went there?” Matt knew he was treading on dangerous ground, but he wanted to see her reaction. He knew in his heart that she had left the area because of his marriage and he almost wanted her to yell at him for it now so he could tell her how sorry he was and ask her to forgive him and start over with him."

"Did it mean she still had feelings for him? They had shared so many X-rated nights there making love and then lying in each other’s arms talking about their dreams. Matt had been certain she was the one he would spend the rest of his life with, the woman who would be the mother of his children."

“Em, I know I screwed up royally, but we were good together. I never stopped loving you.”

“Yeah, right. Did your wife know that?”

“Actually, she did. She called me on it several times and that was one reason we broke up.”

“It’s been four years, Matt. You could have gotten in touch with me.”

"I am going to find a way to win her back. I’m a Rocklyn. I don’t quit." (ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT?????!!!)

..........

Em recounted her conversation with Matt. “It was so hard, Ivy. I wanted to slug him at one point and at another I found myself wishing he would kiss me.”

“Because you love him and hate him. Both.” Ivy got up and dumped a package of pasta into boiling water.

“I think you should tell him about Sadie. Regardless of how you feel about him, he deserves to know. And even though your dad is wonderful to Sadie, he is her grandfather, not her father.”

......

“Don’t you start neglecting your son, now that you don’t live in the same house with him anymore.” ( SO YEP HE HAD A SON WITH THE OW!! SOOOOOO MUCH HE LOVED OUR h!!!)

Matt rolled his eyes. “I would never do that, Mom. I just saw him two days ago. I would have seen him today, but Nicole had some kind of appointment.”

........

So here's what the excuse the loser used to dump the heroin and marry another woman:

"And suddenly she was reliving that day in her mind…"

“You’re back,” Em said into the phone, so happy to hear Matt’s voice. She had been worried because in the first month of his eight-week summer traveling through European wine country Matt had sent her a post card every few days. But then they had dwindled to nothing and she hadn’t heard from him at all in the last a month."

"But no single guy wanted to be surprised by a girlfriend announcing that she was pregnant. If Matt had been here through the summer, it could have happened more gradually with time to discuss it—telling him she was late with her period, being together when she bought the test at the pharmacy and then when she peed on the stick."

"But she couldn’t broach the subject in a letter. And the one rule Matt’s father had made before they left was that Matt could not take his cell phone with him, knowing he would spend too much time talking with his friends back home—friends like Em."

"Oh, she loved this man. And he had told her he loved her. Twice now he had said it to her. Yes, once was in the throes of sex, but the other time they were just sitting side by side in the moonlight. And he had said she was the only one who really understood him."

“Em, we need to talk.”

"Remember I told you about Nicole, who was my girlfriend for several years before I met you? Her father and mine are close friends and business associates with some joint ventures. And I didn’t know it, but they had planned this trip to Europe together and Nicole was on it too.”

"Em’s stomach clenched. She knew what was coming next, and rather than waiting for the blow, she said, “You’re seeing her again.”

“Yes. We got close again during the summer, but it is more than that. When my dad was on his sickbed and I thought he was going to die, he asked me to promise I would take over the vineyard and marry Nicole, that I would join our two families together and continue with the business plans he was making in partnership with Nicole’s father. And I agreed.”

“I’m sorry, Em, but it is my duty. Nicole fits in with my family and my life. We’re both from vineyard families and our fathers work together. My parents adore her, and it is time for me to stop fooling around and get serious about my responsibilities to the Rocklyn business.”

"Fooling around? Was that how he saw our relationship? Em stood, and he must have seen her wet eyes, because he sprang to his feet, and this time it was his arms reaching out to embrace her. But Em quickly stepped back, turned, and ran."

AND THE AUTHOR WANTS WE BELIEVE THAT THAT DISGUSTING SUCKER ALWAYS LOVED THE HEROIN ????? THESE AUTHORS THINK READERS ARE REALLY STUPID ???? MY DEAR GOD THERE ISN'T ONE DAY THAT I DON'T HAVE TO SEE THIS RIDICULUM SHIT !! WHAT HAS TO BE DONE FOR THESE AUTHORS TO STOP WRITING THIS DISGUSTIN POOR EXCUSE FOR A GARBAGE ????

Excellent Addition to the Series!

Encore Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 4) by author Alicia Street is a captivating romance about love, trust and second chances.

As the oldest and the one most likely to take over the family vineyards someday, Matt Rocklyn has felt compelled to be the dutiful son, so when his father, who’s supposedly on his death bed, asks for Matt to marry the woman of his choice, Matt goes along with his father’s wishes, leaving Emerson, the woman he’s been seeing, with a broken heart.

Years later, when Emerson returns to assist her father with his business, which is in trouble, she runs into Matt again, who’s now divorced. Matt wants another chance, but Emerson has a secret and she’s afraid to trust the man who’s already broken her heart.

Besides, what’s to prevent Matt from choosing his father again over her again if she lets him back into her heart?

A beautiful story from an incredibly talented writer who knows how to bring her characters to life (in fact, it’s a spoiler, but I think Matt’s father deserved more than a punch in the nose!)

Five stars!

Love At 67 Step Beach

This was a very well written story about a girl who gets pregnant and just when she's ready to tell her boyfriend, he breaks up with her.
Three and a half years later they run into each other and begin seeing each other again. Difficulties with their parents and their own struggles create problems that are difficult to resolve. A really good story that I would definitely recommend!

Matt and Em were lovers several years ago. Matt never told her family about Em. He wanted to keep her to himself and not share her with anyone else. Then he thought they were going to lose his father, so he promised him that he will marry the daughter of his father;s best friend and business partner.

Now will Em forgive him and let him have another chance. Will she tell him the secret she has been keeping from him. Can they have a happy ending. Read and see what you think

I read all 4 books in the Rocklyn series, and loved them all. Couldn't put them down once I started reading them.
