Would you be able to sacrifice one love to save another?
Two years after the dramatic events that set Lana Martin free from the clutches of the Japanese demon she had been sold to, it is time for her to go back to Italy with her loving family and face her painful past.
After twenty years, the dead demand truth and revenge, but when the corrupted justice of men fail, what will Lana do? In a violent land soaked with the blood of innocents, and with only a few friends she can rely on, Lana doesn't know whom to trust and where to go. Help will come, but under the most incredible form.
Duty calls, and Lana will have to make terrible choices that could endanger her beloved family despite all her efforts at protecting them. Her husband Honda and her wife Yuki stand at Lana's sides, but against unspeakable evil, unbreakable bonds of love might not be enough.
An avid reader of thrillers, science-fiction, horror and romance, I have been writing for nearly 25 years. Lila Mina is one of my pen names.
I am a firm believer in cross-genre literature. Life is too complex, too rich and surprising to limit stories to one genre only. I love blending genres to create powerful characters, emotional plots and exciting stories that hopefully will stay a long time with my readers. My stories feature multiracial couples and sometimes menage who come together, bound by love and passion, to fight against forces bent on taking them apart.
I live in Japan. The rich and beautiful traditions, the amazing nature and the long history of this country are a constant source of creative inspiration.
After more than two years of work, I will release the first book of my TEMPER saga in ebook and paperback in March 2019, and books 2 and 3 in May and July. I am actively looking for reviewers, so feel free to contact me to discuss about an eARC.
A highly explicit and sensual story with paranormal undertones, it is a tale of survival, resilience, personal growth, loyalty and unbreakable love between three unforgettable characters. It takes my readers along the transformative journey of self-discovery of Lana Martin.
Lana, Honda, and Yuki are back and I couldn’t be happier! It’s a Temper series spin-off of sorts, and it was written in such a compelling manner, I had problems putting the book down. While I was reading the Temper trilogy, I fell in love with the exotic setting of Japan, but “Vindicta’s” setting was just as magnificent and I truly felt like I was transported to Italy - the descriptions of scenery, traditions, colors, tastes - everything was masterfully woven into the story.
Now, for the plot: there was more of everything in this new installment. The stakes are higher as the old enemies are closer than ever; the ancient curse could cost Lana not only her life but the lives of her loved ones; ancient deities also make their appearance to settle their own scores - I really couldn’t get enough of the story at this point! Also, I nearly stood up and gave Lana a standing ovation for finally facing her past in the face of her family and namely her grandmother, the matriarch of the clan, with admirable fearlessness and telling her off in such a manner that I wanted to high five her right there and then.
Riveting, haunting, dark at times, featuring a set of characters tied together by complex, intriguing relationships, “Vindicta” is a perfect read for all fans of the genre. I really can’t recommend all of the books in the series highly enough!
This four book series really surprised me. It was exceptionally well written. All the characters touched my heart and I just could not put the book down. I don't want to give too much away but it was unlike any book I have ever read. These books are my favorite and as much as I read that is saying a lot
Edit: re-read the entire series before the release of the long-awaited book 5. It was great!
Vindicta is by far the best book in the series. The writing style has matured over the course of four books and you can see how much Lila Mina has improved as an author and storyteller. Prose and structure were so much better and so much more distinct than Temper 1-3. Apparently Lila would like to overhaul the first three books in the series at some point, and I am looking forward to seeing a more polished version of those books.
+ Setting: set in Japan and Italy. I have been in Japan numerous times but never in Italy. I like how Lila never uses her settings as window-dressing. They are always rooted in reality and very immersive.
+ Story: much more fantasy, mystery and horror than the first three books. I loved it! The erotica was toned down ~ a little ~ in favor of more character development and great storytelling. I appreciate that. It truly is a good book.
+ Characters: Honda, Yuki and Lana have become quite dear to me. It's always nice to see them. Also, new characters came along and enriched the narrative.
I think Fated (Book 5) is set to be a semi-standalone. But I do recommend that you read at the very least Vindicta as well. Recommended! ------ Initial Review --------
I cried and I laughed and it was wonderful!

Book 4 in the Temper series (or maybe book 1 in the second Temper trilogy?) has a longstanding battlefield finally visited by our protagonists. After more than 20 years, Lana is finally set to confront her mother ... for the very last time.
The great thing about Temper is, it's not a mushy bullshit romance where in book 4 the reader already had to rehash some stupid misunderstandings, dangerous exes etc for the gazillionth time, so much so that any person except the author is already sick to the stomach of said couple. While Book 1 did start with some heterosexual BDSM set in Japan, we're long past that.
Lana, Naruhito and Yuki have been in a polyamorous marriage sanctioned by gods for a while now and they definetely have greater troubles than exes, or misunderstandings. It's sad that I have to be so glad about Lila Mina having more creativity than to make her characters go through the same bs every other book, but the sad truth of romance (even cross genre romance) is that most authors just don't know what to do with an established couple. It's like, they're dating so now what? And the tension just gets replaced by fake tension.
Now since this series is different (good different), it's harder to anticipate what will happen, especially since the protagonist's principles are never sacrificed for plot reasons.
Without spoiling too much, Vindicta introduces two new characters to look out for: Little Isao-kun who is so gifted that I can only imagine him becoming yet more relevant in the future, and Francesco Fratellini, an Italian carabinieri who enlists to support the Honda family in their quest to eliminate the many threats to their lives and happiness.
The mystical aspects of the saga, so far limited to Japan, are now also extended into the Roman pantheon, which is interesting to say the least.
I read this in less than 24 hours, I loved every second and I can't wait for book 5! Usually I am fully satiated to the point of annoyance with a couple after 3 books max, but this series is SO MUCH MORE.
As I have pointed out before, the author's extensive knowledge on the fields she writes about (Japan mostly, and in this book, Italy) makes the sceneries she chooses always authentic. You can just tell she didn't pick locations from google maps or cultural knowledge from wikipedia. Also, the plot is fully rolled out at this point so that there isn't as much of the puzzle missing the more you read.
I am delighted with this series and I hope Lila Mina will publish more, also with other characters and stories.
Recommended to people who love romance and are willing to see something new on their kindle now and then! You won't be disappointed.
I was so happy that I was going to be able to read more about Lana, Yuki and Honda. They are an incredible family and have an amazingly strong and unbreakable relationship. It was wonderful to finally read more about them and to see how the dynamics have changed or gotten better.
This new story really delves into the mystical Japanese world. Lana finally gets some answers and conclusions to events and tragedies in her life. Her strength and determination makes her powerful and unbreakable. And WOW the intense sexual chemistry between these characters is mind-blowing. They were steaming my kindle up!
I was on pins and needles reading this story! It was utterly captivating, entertaining and thrilling right to the end. Lila is a phenomenal writer and storyteller. Somehow she knows just how to weave magic into her words, captivating us and making us fall in love with her characters and the story they tell! Highly recommend this whole series.
The trio goes to Italy Lana's home only to encounter her past demons that has set her free in Japan with her loving family and best friend only to protected them again with dark forces working to settle the score. Lana , has to protect her kids from her mother's evil dark magic and find her beloved lost Paolo who died along with Carina that day many years ago . Lana finds help in the Gods Neptune Paolo father and Venus who enjoyed the trio the other night along with Aguo and Ungyo - birth and death of all them when she need them the most to bring back her wife Yuki and Venus who help her husband Honda . Meeting with the Commander Francesco friend and lover between three of them one night helped Lana in her home town against dirty cops to cover up the murders long time ago...
This book/series is phenomenal. The characters are awesome. And there's a few new ones and some twists in this book that left me speechless!! This is definitely a good read you won't be disappointed. I loved the book and look forward to reading more of this series!!
No, but seriously, I wasn’t expecting the sequel to the Temper series to be even better than the first three books, one, because it was finished so soon, but two (and that is the way heavier reason) it’s not possible to be better. Or so I thought.
I really don’t know how I am supposed to write a coherent review of Vindicta when I’m still flailing, fangirling, and squealing over it three months after having it read.
Out of our three main characters Honda has always been the hardest for me to get into – and at first even to deeply like. But somehow that knot has been cut through and now he rivals Lana. Nobody will ever come close to Yuki though.
I devoured all of these books. I found them all engaging and original. The characters were amazingly intense and made me want to know them and their world as scary as it may be. I would love more from this author.
I read all four books by this author and I was hooked. I've been reading books since I sneaked and stole my older sisters book she had hidden from our mom. So I've been reading for a long time, it takes a lot to keep me interested in a book now. The flow of the authors writing is flawless, and the love/sex scene is fire. It made me want to be included 😉😁. All the books kept me entertained and took me to wonderland. Especially now during this time of the pandemic the world is going through. Thank you for the writing you do for us. Can't wait till book 5. ❤
I've followed this series since Lila started writing them on Wattpad. I am amazed and equally as excited to see this published and to be able to fall in love with the characters all over again. This series follow the polyamorous triad (Lana, Honda and Yuki) so if you're brave enough to venture into this dark, erotic BDSM novels set in Japan, I assure you that you're in for a big adventure.
This is a semi-standalone so I recommend to read the Temper Trilogy first before you started with this book. You'll see how much Lana and her lovers has grown and how the relationship has become stronger to withstand any threats against their unbreakable bonds of love. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series!
I have loved reviewing every book in this series so far, so when the author offered me a review copy of this one, I was thrilled to accept!
Right off the bat, I have to say that I disagree with the idea that you could read this as a stand alone. While it's possible to understand the gist of the story through only this book, I doubt it would be nearly as impactful as reading through the entire story from the beginning. There are depths to character you don't fully understand until you've followed the "Fab Three" as the relationship was formed.
I really enjoyed getting to see the calm family life, as well as the gigantic fantasy elements throughout it. The series has continually gotten more and more fantastical as time went on and this book is no exception. I did like the idea of the different cultures having interact throughout history, even as far back as the feudal times. And the overlap between the different mythologies was unique.
The trio, of course, continues with their impeccable chemistry. The sex scenes continue to be some of the most... inventive ones I've seen in a book. I've joked before that this series is "not your mother's grocery store romance" and it continues to show why. If you haven't read erotica before, it might be a bit jarring. But the romantic elements are still very much there and I appreciate the continued growth of all three of them and I'm really excited to see where they go next... and I hope Francesco is there too.
The last major act of the plot had me gripped by the throat until the end. While some creepier things had happened throughout the book (Isao was doing his best impression of that one creepy kid from a horror movie), it was the journey in the well that REALLY got me. I barely even noticed the pages flying by.
All in all, if you've enjoyed the book series so far, you'll definitely love this one. And if you're intrigued by this book, I definitely recommend starting with Deference to get the full picture.
Lila Mins creates a glorious epic in this series. In this book finally the darkness from Italy is vanquished. Lila has a way have handling the dynamics of the relationship of the main characters that is like none other I've ever seen. All three are major players but the way they are written they can take the following position as needed to advance the plot. I find myself very drawn to these books. They are extremely interesting. I love them all!
Number 4 was a struggle for me. Family angst is not a favorite theme. The addition of small children didn't add to my interest. Suddenly we find ourselves in Italy chasing a murder that happened decades ago. Huh? The last quarter of the book saved it for me, but it took a supernatural event. As I read number 4 I learned there was a fifth book. Ill be taking a break.
***Please note that my review doesn't really give my opinions. It's more of a summary for myself to return to in the future.***
