The book is of fiction genre and it is based on ancient civilisations. The protagonist of the story is king Gavi. There was a Sarasvati Valley civilisations at the bank of river Sarasvati. It had very fertile land and civilisations was really prosperous.
The story is about war, protecting throne and discovering a new metal. But how that is interrelated? To know the answer of that question, you will have to read this entire tale.
The book has unique plot. I have been fan of fiction genre so definitely I liked this book. The author has used simple and easily understandable language so that everyone can enjoy reading it. I liked the narration style of the author. It’s smooth and story flows easily. There are number of characters so sometimes it is difficult to recall. The plot has numerous twists. Overall good one. Recommended from my side.

In Anuradha Singh's historic-mythological fiction, 'Ayasam: Epic Tale of King Gavi', it's 1800 BCE, and the Saraswati river is flourishing with civilisation and a flurry of mortal activities. This is the tale of ancient Aryavart and the discovery of 'ayas', the strongest and sturdiest of all the metals. But the story is more than just the need to acquire ayas. It is a tale of childhood scars, of revenge, of power, of advancement and overall, of destruction. King Gavi might get it all, but won't his human temptation bring about his downfall? Who is the real villain in this twisted, moral tale?

A very engaging read indeed. The character development is one of the best things in the book. Gavi's character would make you pity him, then probably feel remorse happiness for him, and then hate him for all that he is worth. The minor characters had suitable roles to play in the novel, but in some way couldn't deliver full satisfaction to the reading experience. The narrative tone of the novel was great. This novel has been very well-researched. I wasn't expecting it to round-off as it did, and my mythological heart had a pleasant surprise. History played a great role in this novel as well. A defined novel at its best.

The flaws came in the form of a lag in the middle of the novel. It somehow lost the rush but picked it up soon towards the end. There were certain narrative drops here and there. The cover needed to be so much better for this book, it didn't do justice at all.

Overall, I definitely recommend it to history and mythological fiction lovers. It will engage you in every sense.

Ayasam written by author Anuradha Singh is nice entertaining period drama fiction. Cover of book looks great, blurb is very brief and gives out very little about the plot.

Plot starts in a very interesting way but looses track in the middle but regains/returns back in the end. As it is a period drama it has lot of characters and lot of subplots running parallelly, felt sub plots blending into main plot was not smooth. Action scenes towards the end are thrilling. Narration is too non linear. Plot has every ingredient to become great book, somehow felt author could have done a better job.

Overall enjoyed reading the plot and would say a nice one time read fiction.

It is mythology historical backdrop based fiction with the spine of the ancient sindhu saraswati satyata interwined with suspense . It unfolds slowly with the rise of a king named Gavi. His journey to become a great king was portrayed nicely where from a light innocent person to going into greed was also projected. To read about the super metal was interesting. And betrayal , war , politics in the administration made it a gripping read.

The story set in 1800 BCE Saraswati valley civilization and revolves around King Gavi's rise and fall. A small innocent, social and joyful boy who turns into an ambitious, competitive and selfish man. Everything starts with a revenge but soon turned into a vicious race to obtain a disastrous weapon which will help into win over the whole civilization. .
.
The story starts so nicely but in between little bit felt loose. The plot of the story is quite interesting and good. Narration of the story is strong and gripping which will keep you on the edge. Adding so many characters makes it a bit confusing but the characters were justified. Language is fine to read.

An extraordinary tale of revenge and greed.

Someone rightly quoted, "Books may well be the only true magic." And believe me, this story is the perfect escape from reality. From the very beginning and until you turned the final page, it kept you engaged with its unique plot which, according to me, is the main attraction of the book.

The author tried to portray the period of ancient civilizations sets in 1800 BCE when Saraswati valley civilization is at its peak. The story of ayasam starts with revenge which followed by greed and gets over with a lesson which mankind learns and unlearns. It's an epic tale of an ordinary person who wants to revenge the death of his close one and becomes the strongest and corrupt king of Aryavart who wants to conquer the world with the power of newly developed Ayas. This story is the perfect blend of revenge and greed and it's an enjoyable journey to unfold how it plays its part to corrupt the human mind.

The narrative style of this book is good and I personally loved the way the author chooses to paint the canvas with the magic of words. The narration of this book is lucid and written in simple language which can be easily read by the beginners.

The only problem with this book is that there are few narrative mistakes which can't get ignored when you read this book. The story also lacks its pace in the middle which is a little frustrating but soon came back on the track.

Coming to the title of the book and the cover page. I personally loved the title and found it a little astonishing when I heard about it for the first time. But the cover page of this book is not attractive as it seems and can be better than this one.

‘Ayasam: Epic Tale of King Gavi’ by Anuradha Singh is a story that is set in 1800 BCE Saraswati Valley Civilization. This was a period where the civilization was at its peak. The story revolves around the rise and fall of King Gavi. We get to see how Gavi once an childlike, gentle, social and joyful Gavi becomes extremely ambitious, competitive and self-centered. We get to see how the story of revenge which later turns into greed and how everyone to get this newly found metal so that one can rule the whole of aryavrat. Will Gavi be able to conquer all the kingdoms? What happens at the end? To know more read Ayasam: Epic Tale of King Gavi.

My Thoughts:

The story is very engaging. I liked the journey of Gavi, his transformation from a simple innocent boy to a King was very intriguing.

I liked the writing style of the author it has the capability of keeping the readers guessing what is going to happen next. The language used is also very simple but vivid which is the specialty of the book. The readers will find it easy to go through the book.

The narration was good and the scenes portrayed were excellent. One could actually feel as if it actually happening in front of your eyes.

The characters were well developed but as I progressed into the book I thought that there were a lot of characters. Due to so many characters it is a possibility that the readers might get confused. But all had their own role to play which makes them justifiable.

The plot is very interesting and will keep the readers engaged till the end. The writing pace was also good it was apt as per the requirement of the scenes.

Overall, I would recommend this book to all the historical fiction lovers.

📓📓
The book dates back to 1800 BCE when Saraswati valley civilization is at its peak.
The story is about this poor yet ambitious boy Gavi and about his journey to become a king. It all starts with revenge, followed by greed and gets over with a lesson. Generally all historical books end up teaching something to the future generation. The records always pass down as a warning of not repeating the mistakes and also a package of all human virtues and vices.
A new metal called AYAS was found which looked sharp, tough and attractive. Every king wanted to own it as AYAS could create the most destructive weapons which would make any king the great conqueror.

Writing historical drama is a great challenge. All the details in historical drama, the tradition the customs everything needs to be in such details that it gives you the feel of the era. And this historical novel being set in the BC era sure needs great research since knowledge about the traditions and customs of BC era is too little. And indeed the author has put great efforts to give this book a historical feel and has succeeded immensely.
🙇🙏🔥
Overall the storyline is really interesting and engaging. All the historical details in it makes the reader feel that they are present in the era. Characters are well developed . Language is lucid. Quite a lovely read

As you this is a tale of marvellous king Gavi. In his childhood, Gavi had been a very innocent and boy who don't know about the world and also don't know about bad peoples of this world. Gavi was lived in bank of a lake in Anushni.
Gavi born in a very good hearted family but not in very rich family. He like to go in King's palace, whenever he heard that some event being celebrated in the palace he went with his mother.

I guess this story is based on revenge because, One day when Gavi went palace with his mother he noticed that very special people coming in tha palace he started looking, he carned his neck up for a better view of the balcony above, and then he saw a very beautiful young girl with silky straight hair was smiling and clapping, beside her were her two brothers but for Gavi they were invisible. He kept looking at her with big eyes and mouth agape. One of the boys saw Gavi staring at Maya, the loved princess of Anushni. He whispered to the elder Prince Surhud. He gave order to his friends to beat him for this so called crime. Surhud's friends beaten Gavi very cruelly. When Gavi's mother saw him in this condition she request prince to forgive but he don't say any words and all boys are continuously beating Gavi. At one step when those boys picked Gavi and started throwing him down from the corridor, the Shikha his mother try to stop and she start pulling shirt one of his, desperate Shikha lost is balance and then she slipped from the balcony and died
That one slap had finished his innocence and changed his life on a course which went first flowing up stream and then cascading into a ravine, which was deep and bottomless.

Being a lover of history, i always appreciate a nice lineal fiction story and yes, i do enjoyed reading it.

It is a story of 1800 BCE when Saraswati valley civilization is at its peak.
The story is of young commoner and how he rises towards the throne.

Epic tale of King Gavi is one such tale complete with all human virtues and vices.
It starts with revenge, followed by greed and gets over with a lesson which mankind learns and unlearns.

A new metal called ayas was found which was sharp, shiny and tough.
Every king wanted to be the owner of the mines.
Ayas can create the most destructive weapons which can make any king, the great conqueror.

Will the discovery of ayas the new metal will be the reason for the disappearance of river Saraswati from the face of Mother Earth?
Who will be the conquer all the Kingdoms?
Victory or complete destruction?
Bhavya and Maya two very important women of Gavi’s life- who will stay with him?

To find the answers to many such questions to read this epic drama.

I really liked how the characters are developed.

The story is quite interesting and the plot is intriguing but as the story picks up its pace in the starting it does loses links in the middle and gets connected later.
Language used is very simple and easy to understand.

Overall a very nice read.

Book: Title : Ayasam
Author : Anuradha Singh
Edition : Kindle
Genre: Drama

The book is a canvas on which expressions of ancient history is inscribed with sublime subtleties. It talks about the period of 1800 BCE through the perspective of Saraswati Valley civilization. The moralistic and ethical standards are imbibed in the story through the eyes of historical fiction and are meant to be comprehended in utmost detail. The sentiments of revenge, greed and attachment are portrayed with intricacies especially when King Gavi had set his mission to attain all the kingdoms.

My Take: The book is an intriguing time travel and assimilates the narration and plot really well. The travel to this ancient world is concretely concerned with the wits and comprehension of the readers. The story has an undeniable attitude of gripping the readers thereby making it engaging and inscribing thoughts in the minds of the reader.

Critique: The book is undoubtedly set in a casual era and lacks certain editorial aspects especially when it comes to the language. The pace is swift in the beginning and monotonous in the middle. I feel certain twists and turns in the plot could have made the book a super read.

The book as the title suggests is set in the ancient times. The plot of the story is quite unique which makes the story stand out. Owing to the vastness of the plot, there are a lot of sub plots running in parallel and the ancient stories always require a lot of detailing which makes some feel that the book a bit lengthy. But as one gets in line with the story then it wouldn't be obvious. However it felt like the story lost its pace somewhere in the middle and the merging of the sub plots weren't that smooth. The narration could have been a bit more consistent. Another interesting thing about this book is the choice of words by the author. The words used and carefully crafted details kept the story intriguing. The latter part of the book was such a page turner that one wouldn't feel like putting the book down come what may. For the varying concepts that the story comprises of and clever choice of putting thoughts into words I would give this a 4/5. Highly recommended to those who love historical fiction.

Genre: Historic Friction
The Story is set on Ancient Civilizations around 1800 BCE Saraswati valley when civilization was at its peak. An epic tale of King Gavi is one such tale complete with all human virtues and vices. It starts with revenge, followed by greed and gets over with a lesson that mankind learns and unlearns.
The story starts with King Gavi’s childhood, when he was joyful and social but turns into ambitious and self-centered. The story initially starts with revenge but later grows into greed.
New metal was discovered which everyone was trying to get their hands on in order to rule the Aryavrat.

But the question is, will Gavi conquer all the kingdom?

The story is written in simple language with easy narration. Though the plots get quite monotonous in the middle, it picks up its pace towards the end. As all the characters of the book were well descriptive, it's easier for the reader to connect with the story. There were lots of subplots running parallel which kept the book interesting.

The story is set in 1800 BCE Saraswati Valley Civilization. The story starts from the point where the civilization was on it’s peak. The storyline follows journey of king Gavi. We see the childhood phase to the path of being a Self-centered king. The plot is about founding a new metal to rule all of the Aryavrta. This is a story of greed and lust for power.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I am a huge of historical and mythological stories. I find them so fascinating and I get really attracted to such stories. I really enjoyed the characterization in this book. The way the characters are developed and the different phases of their nature is shown. When the story started, the plot had such a powerful grip, but it slowing started losing the grip. The author could not continue the flow of the story throughout. The fluctuation was seen in the story. The narration was good and the language was lucid as well. The grammar was good as well. The story lacked in the middle which makes it an average read.
The cover did good and does convey the nature of the plot and story.

AYASAM: Epic Tale Of King Gavi

By:- Anuradha Singh
.
.
"A compelling story"
.
The story of ayasam king gavi is very interesting and unique. This saga filled with different characters represents Indian historical story writing. The story dates back to the Saraswari civilization in ancient times where the innovative civilization is moving towards its feature-rich form. The nature of this civilization has been coined as the story of gavi.We know well about minerals, but in ancient times these minerals used to represent the prosperity of a country.
Similar mineral ayas have also been talked about here. Ayas is the path to prosperity and he who attains it will be the king.Who wins in this struggle of their existence and who wins all? This is the subject of engaging the reader which is exciting in itself.
.
If you want to read a great book related to ancient India, then ayasam is made for you.
.
Seems that its cover could get attraction if it were given the form of antiquity.

I've read an ample amount of mythologies, and this one is a complete new set for me. When a new metal was found out, the kings of ayravat tries to get it, especially Gavi. This is the journey of king gavi to discover what's his and get moving.
It began with all the drumroll kinda feelings, but as the story progressed the author kinda lacked to keep up with the real energy the book began with. The connection at times felt as if it just faded away.
The story is about the past, and present of a kingdom.
But as the book began to reach the second part, that's the ending, it was all set with full of energy and enthusiasm.
I' like the authors language, which isn't complicated and can be understood well by a beginner. The plot of the story is different and interesting.
Cover is simple. Overall one time read.

The book narrates the tale of the ancient stalwarts and their discoveries. Reva a final term postgraduate student in the school of Historical Studies decides to doing her thesis on the Iron Age developments in the Pre-Vedic era. She is very interested in Vedic was Pre-Vedic history. She accidently finds a book that can help in her thesis, the book her favourite professor Prof. Mankani has king lost - story of King Gunadhish tasmat Gavi. Gavi a simple farmer son who raises to be a powerful king and the lord of iron mines.

What first grabbed my attention is the cover page - eye catching and attractive. And when I started the story I was completely lost in it (which actually re-read many parts) eventually it took me long time to complete the book.

Out of the many characters one character that caught my attention is that of - Bhavya.

Ayasam: Epic tale of King Gavi is placed in 1800 BCE in which Saraswati valley civilization is at its peak.

Story revolves around King Gavi, whose humanly feelings such as greed, anger, jealousy destorys everything. I felt there were just too many characters and not all of them are developed well.

There came a time where I felt I should close this book as it's getting too much, but somehow I managed to reach till the end of the book and what I found was totally opposite of my whims. Book turned out to be really good, though a bit heavy.

Getting a good content is not a big deal but to stitch a perfect story is where this book stands par.

Language used is quite easy and narration is commendable.

If you like historical fiction or classics, or something for which you are ready to spend/alot good number of hours, grab this book!

Title of the book and the cover is extra ordinary. The cover is attractive. Now saying about the plot the story is well defined. M not a lover of history bt i read the book with much interest. I can say tht it gave me a intrest in history. Nd m willing to read the book based on history in future. The story is based on the king Gavi. The story starts from the Journey of the common man to achieve the throne. A new metal which all the kings want was ayas with the qualities like lustre sharp and tough. The speciality of this metal was that it can make a superb destructive weapon which can make any king more nd more powerful. Overall it as a perfect mixture of history and fiction. Language is not that difficult. Words are wisely choose by the author.
