Nikki has learned the hard way over the years not to blindly trust others and her trusted list is extremely small. She has been burned over and over and now keeps herself guarded against potential hurt. When danger follows her from one coast to another and wreaks havoc with her new job and threatens her life, there is only one person she does trust who she can call. Hank Patterson along with his wife, Sadie, and their daughter happen to be close friends and in the same area on vacation and Hank has no problem stepping in to help Nikki out. He puts a call into a friend at a local agency in the area, The Guardian Agency, similar to his own back home in Montana, and Brett Robinson gets assigned to be her own personal bodyguard until the threat is eliminated. At first there is a huge resistance from Nikki but she trusts Hank’s judgment and the more she gets to know Brett, the more she gets in over her head in more ways than one. She and Brett have an instant attraction they both try to ignore but the situation and circumstances prove too hard to resist and they give in to their feelings under the ruse of a relationship to catch the perpetrator. What happens, though, when the danger has been eliminated and the dust settles? Was it just a well-performed act for them both to catch the perpetrator or are their feelings real?
This was an engaging short read full of great characters, romance, drama, and suspense with a well-written storyline that draws you into the adventure from the first page. It is a good addition to both the Brotherhood Protectors and Guardian Agency worlds.

Reclusive former superstar actress Nikki Weston is producing a small town play on a working vacation while visiting friends, Hank and Sadie Patterson. With a stalker on her tail, Nikki’s in desperate need of security but it would take Hank a couple of days to call in his team so he accepts Guardian’s guy in the area, Brett Robinson. Nikki’s reluctant to work with Brett since she doesn’t know him and has been betrayed by trusted people before.
While Brett tosses out scenarios and his qualifications for Nikki, she shares the stalker activity she’s had from Hollywood to Charleston. They’re interrupted by a drink and a threat from a customer no longer in the bar. Nikki insists the culprit is a rival producer who is fanning a media feud encouraging the public to take sides. But there’s no record of him being in the area.
Brett reminds Nikki she needs the protection he provides and offers her a choice of him performing the job as her boyfriend or a bodyguard. When Brett and Sylvia act as a happy couple, the stalker shares his upset with them. This well paced outing and storyline favored the romance over suspense worked well to my taste but the hurried ending, not so much.

This book was so dumb. My favourite genre is romantic suspense but I have a preference for characters to be smart and not dumb. Usually authors write the sex scenes either towards the end when trouble is over or when they’re exceedingly safe (for example, snowed in somewhere they can’t get out of and the bad guys can’t get in). The couple in this book hooked up right in the middle of all the drama. I could forgive that if the rest of the book wasn’t dumb as well. The threat is never really adequately explained and Gus Haynes last attack is the dumbest I’ve ever read.

She didn’t care just now who might snap a picture and post criticism online.” I follow a lot of celebrity gossip and fan type stuff online and I have never seen anyone pay attention to how much coffee creamer they used.

Nikki was spending time in South Carolina with a friend. She had a stalker in California so she went to spend the holidays to get away. Well her friend Sadie and Hank where on family vacation with there daughter Emma. Things started happening and Nikki asked Hank for a bodyguard. Brett was a Former Navy Seal and was home when his career ended early. He became part of The Guardian Agency and found a new way to serve by becoming a bodyguard. Christmas always comes early and he hopes his happy ending would. The way Brett worked this tasked out was very much and easy way to catch the one they where after. He got to protect his crush and got more than he expected. Regan wrote this in a way you won't get lost you will fall in love with Brett and Nikki like I did. I hope you go and read the adventure and enjoy it.

(4.5) Suspense, Romance, Hot hunk, smart and beautiful heroine. Check and Check. This is one of the first books I read that truly merged Brotherhood Protectors World and Guardian Agency in a fluid enjoyable read. Thank you Regan Black. Nikki has a stalker, she is pretty confident she knows who it is, but cannot prove it. Brett is hired to protect her and is instantly smitten. Nikki on the other hand is not. She has trust issues. When things escalate, Brett convinces her to be pretend boyfriend, girlfriend. I really appreciate that NIkki is not only beautiful with a good heart, but she is intelligent. I loved that Hank, Sadie (and their lovely daughter) played a part in this, they were not just named dropped. This is a great read! Thank you Regan for the opportunity to read this arc. I have freely offered my opinion and thoughts!

I'm starting to feel like the story's are to much alike, I get the main storyline is the guardian agency there job is to bodyguard and investigate. each book is a new to us agent and he falls in love.plus hank and his crew is in this just as much in every book somewhere a small cameo (another series set in same world written by many authors,I have not read yet not sure if I want to)
I'm guessing hank and some of his team show up because this author has set it up like the CIA anyone who works at the guardian agency don't have work colleagues only two tech support people Claudia and Taylor (his story is up next) you only work with one of them, that's it on the phone.So there is no banter (just quick phone chatter) no hanging out getting food together meeting family not even there own. We had the stalker one already, this is the same.

Nikki Weston is in Charleston, South Carolina with her best friends, producing and directing the Nutcracker for the local Community Theater. She left Hollywood a few years ago because she has had a stalker harassing her and, just wants to be left alone. Problem is that Nikki knows who this stalker is but, has never been able to prove it. Brett is just off of an assignment from the Guardian Agency and he's called in to help Hank Patterson from the Brotherhood Protectors as he's vacationing in South Carolina. Nikki is being stalked and the threat is increasing, but she's not taking it seriously. She doesn't want a bodyguard and she certainly doesn't want Brett. He's from the area, a southern charmer, but she doesn't know him and he's not part of Hank's crew. Nikki and Brett make a deal for forty-eight hours. It's a fast and interesting read and you won't be disappointed. I wished the story would have been longer.

Even though this one is centered around Christmas it will still pull you to the edge with danger and intrigue. Nikki seems to have come close to my neck of the woods also so this made for an easier escape into this world and story. No matter though where she seems to think she might be safe a stalker follows. Brett is the one that is on a new path with him getting the assignment to protect Nikki we and him get to see if holidays are early lol. Of course this author will give us plenty of suspense and having that in the mix pull us to the edge with danger near. This agency does have some wonderful people with yet another intrigue to follow because it has captured us from beginning to end.

A fantastic series
This has been an interesting and exciting series, and the only thing that I would enjoy more is if the stories were longer. :)
It's a fantastic series that you certainly won't want to miss!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
☆☆I actually expected this story to be a continuation of the previous two books, but I was surprised that it was about a different couple. It was a good surprise and I really enjoyed the story, but I am curious about the previous story, as well as what happened with all of the characters. Hopefully it will be included in a future book.

Nicki is in Charleston with Hank , Sadie, and Emma over Christmas where she is helping put on the Nutcracker. Nicki has had a stalker for awhile but can't prove who it is but, he has followed her to Charleston. Hank calls the Guardian Agency and Brett becomes her bodyguard. This book is fast paced and you want to keep reading till your done. It's nice seeing Hank, Sadie just hanging out and having a good time enjoying the holiday's with Emma, This is a quick read and you won't be disappointed. Regan has added another great book to the Guardian Agency.

Having been betrayed too many times to trust anyone, she'd rather hide and face it alone than get hurt again. He needs to be needed, but she doesn't want his help. How will he convince her to play fake girlfriend for 48 hours? But what will happen when her stalker turns violentl? Or when fake boyfriend turns real? Find all the answers in this excellent book. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed reading this story! It starts with Hank and his wife Sadie and their daughter at the beach on a working vacation when Hank gets a call from Nikki asking him for help. Hank then calls the Guardian agency and Brett gets the order to protect. Nikki is a actress that has a stalker that Brett has to protect her from. I was drawn in and didn't want to put it down till I was finished reading it. I recommend this book!!!!!

A great bodyguard/fake boyfriend story. Nikki Weston needs protection against a stalker. With her trust issues, she tries to deny extra protection, but she gives Brett Robinson 48 hours to prove he is needed. Their attraction makes the dating part of the protection believable. The characters are well-developed and the story-line is awesome. I highly recommend this book along with others in the series

I loved that Brett took this opportunity to woo Nikki completely. He still kept her safe but also swept her off her feet, treasured her, loved her and showed her exactly how she should be treated....how he would treat her, always! Swoon!
We get lots of Hank and Sadie too..which is always a treat!

Brett met Natalie and was already a big fan. He had met her when she did a USO your during the war. But this time she needed Brett to help her find a stalker who was getting more violent by the day. She knew who it was, but that didn't seem to make a difference. In the meantime they found a kindred spirit in each other.

LOVE SOUTHERN STYLE
A very reluctant protectee and a very determined bodyguard compromise but soon discover that the pretend relationship feels very real....because it is.
The right amount of tension and the right amount of simmering romance propel the story forward. A great addition to the brotherhood protectors world and the Guardian Agency series. Definitely recommend.

Sweet love
Brett and Nikki were from different worlds. However, a stalker brought them together. Danger surrounded Nikki. She was harassed because of her status as a wealthy heir and talented actress and producer. Things took a bad turn and Nikki was endangered. What happened? Read it. Good story.

Another former actress being stalked and threatened. While in South Carolina for a Nut Cracker production she receives threats from her stalker. Brett is called in for Hank and Sadie, who are there with Emmy for a Christmas vacation/work. Action, plenty of heat and surprises. HEA

When you put The Guardian Agency together with The Brotherhood Protectors it's a book that has very serious alpha males, some badass women who can turn the head of their protectors. The Guardian Agency is a great series that I would recommend.

He started out at just a bodyguard but it soon became much more!
Very riveting! The story flowed quite well. Smoothly and surprisingly, the story unfolded. A great read one that I will enjoy reading again.

A nice romantic story with just enough action. However, this story didn't grab me or keep me up at night. It was good enough to keep me coming back, but . . . I did finish it and I did enjoy the read. A nice bedtime read that took several night to finish.
