En Mus-saga vid Jul

Det är julafton, alla möss förbereder sig för julfirandet. Alla, utom Ben som säger att det gör honom detsamma vad det är för dag. Det enda han tycker är bra med julen är att han då kan få tag på ett kanderat plommon, för det tycker han är det bästa som finns. Senare på kvällen får Ben besök av en främmande mus som säger att han slår vad om att det finns massor av möss som skulle vilja ha något annat än ett kanderat plommon. Ben går med på vadet och följer med den främmande musen ut i julnatten.

Äärettömän nostalginen lukukokemus. Upea vanhanaikainen kuvitus. Hienoa, että tälläisiä kirjoja vielä löytää sekä töistä että muutenkin suomalaisesta kirjastolaitoksesta. Nostalginen fiilis tuli lukiessa samaa kirjaa kuin yli 20 vuotta aiemmin lapsuuden jouluina/joulukauden aikana.

This is the week of reading Christmas books with my little one. The Christmas Mouse is one of my Christmas favorites, but my 9 year old is sensitive and doesn't always like stories where there's a "mean" character so she only gives this 2 stars. I'm evening the 5 stars I'd give it by giving it 4 stars. I absolutely love the illustrations, too!

A sweet story that shadows the story of A Christmas Carol. The illustrations are pretty cool because the little mouse’s story is happening at the same time as Scrooge taking his journey so we see Scrooge illustrated in the background.

Lumoava, kaunis kuvitus on tämän kirjan tenho. Hiirten tarinan rinnalla kuvituksesta voi bongata Saiturin joulun tapahtumia. Hieno, kahdessa kerroksessa kulkeva tarina.

Cute book but not the best written. Some of the prose felt choppy to me. The best part of this book are the illustrations, which are gorgeous.

a nice little books with so dreamy pictures.
It is a story for children ... yes? No! It is for all who love christmas, who love Dickens, who want to care about others.
Ben is a mean mouse, but suddenly a poor ghostly mouse arrives when ben is not able to sleep the night before Christmas.
Christmas? "Christmas is another day", Ben says. He denies the friendship of another mouse, Tim.
The ghost-mouse offers to bring sleep to Ben so he will find 3 mice wanting to share time with him.
Ben can't: every other mouse refuses any contact. Now one will share Christmas feasts with him or any drink.
At last Ben and his ghost get to poor Tim, who seems to be dad in his empty, poor and cold room.
Ben begins to think about Christmas, about love, about friendship. He falls into sleep.
On Christmas morning he looks for Tim, offering him help, friendship and his favored food: a candied plum.
Although it is a book for children I believe it shall remind also adults of that what Christmas means: to care about others.
