Jean-Luc Picard has traveled to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, defeated impossible foes, and survived in the face of unthinkable odds, but it’s the end of this one mission that will change his life forever. The official countdown to CBS All Access’s Star Trek: Picard ends here, and things will never be the same...
Fine as a comic and a Trek story, but a real let down as a build up to Star Trek: Picard. Basically only serves to tell the backstory of two minor characters from the series. Made worse by the fact this finale edition of the 'countdown' came out days after the release of the first episode. A shame because it started out intriguing.
Star Trek: Picard - Countdown #3 continues straight on from the previous book with Picard facing off against the corrupt Governor Shian with the aid of former Tal Shiar members and renegades Laris and Zhaban! :D The story neatly dovetails into later events with wine making making it's way in there as well! :D Other events throughout also start hinting at the Renegade activities of the Tal Shiar and the others within the ranks who are already up to things! :D
The are is crisp and clear with the characters all being recognisable along with their expressions! :D The action is neatly portrayed with great pacing and views. The script moves along at brilliant pace to boot making for cinematic feel to all the frames! :D Brilliant Crisp High Five! :D Highly Recommended! :D Get It When You Can! :D
Swift, dynamic storytelling; good character voices. One too many reversals for Zhaban (whose fate we know from the series anyway).
In Countdown #2, it was noted that the laws of nature don't always apply to Yuyat Beta -- remember that upside down waterfall? -- and I feel like that plot thread was just dropped.
Admiral Picard and his Commander has been able to save The Romulan Colonists from destruction and deal with the Tal Shiar. The story doesn't disappoint and a strong ending to a good story that sets up for the series. This miniseries sets the tone for the current series and good for Star Trek fans.
Bit anti climatic as this was due to come out before Picard did but was delayed. Gives a nice bit of back story and explains a few things which I saw in episode one. If they had not messed up the release timing this would have been a 4 star!
Good self-contained story that gives us a lot of background on the two Romulan caretakers while also giving us an isolated view of the Romulan evacuation. Some flavouring if you will, not necessary to enjoy the show but giving us more depth.
What an excellent, if brief story contributing to the richness of Romulan history and culture, as well as our protagonists' backstory. Much, much better than the Picard novel. I can't recommend this to fans enough.
Good color artwork, conclusion of the trilogy a little rushed, like an unexpected checkmate? The preview is about q the despicable? Not everything Star Trek is worth seeing.
Great finish to start of a new saga for Picard. So nice back story to the new shown. All I have to do now is read the new book to complete the story #Picard
A conclusion of sorts - there's more to the story, but that is what Picard is telling in the new show! I loved his little comment in the end of vineyards. A nice little conclusion.
I really like the reason that Zhaban and Laris betray the Tal Shiar and end up with Picard. They are fascinating and delightful characters and I would love to see a lot more of them. It feels like a great kind of classic TNG vibe of a two parter.
