Some of the Faerie prefer the dark. Unknown and unseen, there are those who maintain the eternal balance between Good and Evil. GrimFaeries do it in an ugly with fang and claw and blood. A hard-bitten soldier of the Light, Kane the Grim walks quietly among us, dealing death to those who deserve it. His true form hidden by an illusion, he vigilantly protects the innocent from evils they wouldn’t believe, monsters and evil sorcerers alike. His new partner, Ariana the witch, brings her two-gunned approach to the table, using semi-automatic weapons and magick spells with equal ease. Together, they keep the city of Houston safe.
When someone deals drugs that instantly cause demonic possession, evidence points to someone with enormous power pulling the strings. Kane and Ariana go on the hunt, but the police aren’t far behind, and a detective from Kane’s past may expose his true nature. When Kane is framed for murder, he and Ariana must evade the police while pursuing a killer from Houston to the desert of New Mexico. It’s a heart-stopping thrill ride as Kane and Ariana race to catch the demon-monger before all hell breaks loose…literally.
The second tale of the GrimFaerie Chronicles, an exciting new urban fantasy!
Hello! I'm Whit McClendon, a fantasy author and martial arts instructor. My favorite genres are fantasy/sword-and-sorcery, sci-fi, detective thrillers, and the occasional paranormal thriller. I'm west of Houston, Tx, and I enjoy reading, writing, teaching martial arts, and playing lacrosse. Oh, and pugs...love me some pugs!
Another fun and exciting adventure full of action and suspense I enjoyed watching the magical duo at work again! I loved the new additions magical and otherwise. I look forward to reading more GrimFaerie adventures!
This book series contains an interesting storyline and is an enjoyable quick read. I like the characters but I have to wonder how Kane survived across the centuries without the witch to protect him. To butcher Shakespeare, "he's full of sound and fury signifying nothing".
but I'm okay with that! There's room for a new fantasy universe down there and this one's just fine. Having read fantastic fiction for the last sixty-odd years, I'm a bit picky but I have really found the first two in this series entertaining. Ready for more!
I really am enjoying this series. This second book was just as interesting as the first. Now onto the next one and I'm looking forward to finding out more about these characters.
