Very odd flow

Unlike most mysteries I’ve enjoyed, these stories begin by telling you who has a motive and wants to kill the victim. The rest of the storyline is simply “no, it’s not this person because I totally believe their story,” until we’re down to a single suspect. Precious little character development, but the accompanying recipes are interesting.
