Vivienne Savage is a resident of a small town in rural Texas. While she isn't writing fantasy or concocting ways for shapeshifters and humans to find their match, she raises two children and works as a nurse in a rural retirement home.

It was heartbreaking and beautiful as everything culminated into an amazing ending! I felt like i needed a proper ending though because it was left more to the reader's imagination than anything else... Oh, well, it was splendid nonetheless
Rosalia and Xavier are in search of the Legacies that could be used to destroy the world, in the wrong hands. Facing unending trials with the help of new allies, they fight to protect each other and those they love. But at this point, survival is not enough. They also seek justice for the ones who lost their lives.
I think it would be enough to say that the book was as good as the prequels. I was a bit worried when I saw it was only a 164 pages. I couldn't believe that the author had managed to capture all the important details and give me the answers in such a short length, but I was so wrong. She did a great job. The quest to find the legacies was interesting and I also liked some of the new characters that were introduced. I experienced major relief when no one important died in this book. I couldn't bear more heartbreak for Rosalia. There wasn't a lot of romance in this book because they were practically trying to stay alive. But it was so good to see Rosalia and Xavier in love and ready to take the next step in their relationship. I was a little disappointed because I had expected an epic confrontation when Rosalia finds out a truth about her life, but that moment was underplayed and lasted only for a few seconds. I was also looking forward to the same when the villains die, but it wasn't very satisfying. But I can overlook it all because of what came after that. The ending was sweet and heartwarming. I got a little emotional and there was also a sense of satisfaction for the way things turned out. I enjoyed this trilogy very much and recommend it to all fantasy lovers.
Diamond in the Rough is the long awaited book 3 in the Daughter of Fortune series. This is a true trilogy, so you do pretty much have to read the first two. It's essentially one long tale. As the first two are, this is written in 3rd person perspective from both characters' point of view.
In this book we meet yet another race of people with magic and secrets! The desert folk are much more Rosalia's people, and they remember her mother. This book has many reveals, a number of action scenes, some very sweet moments between our lovers, an amusing moment or two, a simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting scene, and a lot of love to go around. Oh, and magic, of course. The conclusion we've been waiting for is finally here, and it was well delivered!
If you haven't read this series, all of the attributes that are list above are more or less in every book. Minus the big ending of course. Xavier is our amazing shapeshifting dragon/elf/warlock and tinkerer, while Rosalia is our part Djinn thief/actress. This romp has been a lot of fun. I highly suggest giving it a go!
I found the lack of character growth and insight really frustrating. I wanted to enjoy this world of dragons and thieves but the lack of complexity meant I found it hard to engage.
O my god what a good series from beginning to end. SpellboundIng you must read the series couldn't put it down. A spectacular series. Will tell all my book worm readers
