I'm just like them. I'm an elite, my brother is in with the it crowd, but I'm shunned.

Money can't buy you everything. Well, it certainly can't buy me acceptance in our world.
At Bluestone Academy, it doesn't matter that I'm a witch like the rest of them. I'm a deadblood—a witch without power.
And I pay for my acceptance into the witching school every single day.
It doesn't end out of the doors, either.
This is my life. I'll always be one of them, and forever be shunned—by the one I've loved my whole life.

Yes. Finally a Bully romance where the girl doesn't get "all tingly" and her "body doesn't betray her" everytime she looks at her abuser. I devoured this short book and moved onto the next one immediately.

That's not to say there aren't some plot holes in the world building and that this book couldn't use a serious round of proofreading for wrong word usage (it's a bit distracting) but I'm able to let them go so far because I'm so wrapped up in the storytelling.

The second book in the Bluestone Academy series is called Bluestone Elites. Overall, the writing in this book is engaging and interesting. It ends on a cliffhanger that I am so glad to see happen. So before I say the negative component of the review, I will make it clear that I absolutely will be reading the next book. This is also a book review for 1 and 2 basically.

I love bully novels and I have read a lot of them. I prefer bully books that are partially written from the bully's perspective so we can know his true feelings and motivations while he treats the heroine like crap. If not that, then I need to at least feel his tenderness, regret, sorrow, SOMETHING at how he has treated the heroine before I begin to like him. Although there were a few part that attempted to soften him, there wasn't enough.

---------Spoilers Ahead-------------

He literally has beat her up..like........strangled her!? causing bruises, pushed her over, stung her with wasps, verbally abused her, publicly embarrassed her..with not one apology, moment of guilt, etc. He talks about how she is only a possession, kisses her when he feels like it, etc. I could get over this as a part of dark bully fiction, but the only thing to redeem his character is that he was kind to her as a child, took care of her once when she was drunk, and fixed a dress that he ruined. I need more as a reader for me to want them to be together now and in the future..Also I understand that this is a story that has specific gender roles and she is somewhat powerless..but she literally starts believing all his talk that she is worthless, nothing but a human, just a possession, etc. She has fought back a bit (which I appreciate) but she still cries and believes him most of the time. I hope in the next book, with her new adventure with Serena, she grows even more of a backbone and makes him grovel for literally abusing her.

Fun YA novella

A cute novella, first of two in the series, about a poor witch who never developed her powers, so is bullied in the Bluestone Academy. Miserable things happen to her, but I can’t help but hope she will overcome in the next book in the series.

This second book ends just as the book is really getting adventurous. Olivia take her fate into her own hands and doesn't just give up. I can't wait for the next book.

I never expected to feel more for the bully than the bullied. Olivia, despite having the witch genes, doesn’t have a wit of magic about her. Despite that, her overcontrolling parents send her to Bluestone Academy to train to be…a wife. Really. Without power, what else would they expect? Unfortunately, she cannot see other options in life even when her roommate suggests one. Olivia’s only rebellion is a lame attempt to find her own mate, and she submits to any abuse without making plans to escape or fight back. I have no sympathy.

Dray, her brother, and a guy named Landon are her main bullies. Olivia is told again and again that family relations matter more than her tiny life, and Dray seems to have drunk that coolaid. I sympathize with him (despite having been bullied in my past) because Dray seems to have unrequited love or at least obsession over her. Why? I don’t know. Olivia is mean to him.

The world-building is minimal. There are only two instances of “magic” being demonstrated. Honestly, it could be a contemporary romance. But if Olivia continues without magic at a magical university, she is doomed to fail. Why doesn’t she make a decision to leave and find her own way? Her own rebellion is pretty lame.

Love the way the school is set up, almost like Hogwarts.

Definitely captures fear & terror that bully victims face on a daily basis. The way she is treated by her former best friend is horrible. I think deep down he still loves her. And it repulsed him so he takes it out on her. And if his family is still possibly forcing him to marry her then that would make him hate her. I am totally flabbergasted that her own brother treats her so bad. If her parents knew I bet things would be different. I really think her parents need to know how bad Dray treats her. Who cares what it would mean for the company's they own jointly! Olivia is their daughter & they love her to death. I'm just holding my breath praying it's not a marriage to Dray! Another reason she needs to come clean to her family, to prevent it! Only critic I will offer is it seemed short. Otherwise, great job!

Olivia is a witch and an Elite but she has no powers, because of this her everyday life is full of bulling and humiliation, mainly from the people she once called friends. Dray who she was meant to marry has turned his back on her and causes her the most pain. Olivia just wants to get through her last year in the academy.
I enjoyed this first book in the series. Olivia is in a situation that no one would want to be in but she manages to stay strong, she has her goal of finishing the school year and she is a determined character despite it all. I thin there is more to Dray and his feelings towards Olivia.
It does finish on a bit of a cliffhanger and i will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

Though the concept seems good a girl from a strong powerful lineage ends up having no magic and still goes to a school for witches and warlocks, where she is bullied all the year round.

Though it's not a new concept, there's no plot as such as of now. The book keeps on flowing how this girl is being bullied, how she knows she might just be married to someone as rich as her or become a socialite. There's nothing in the book that makes you want to wait for book 2.

However, after having read many series, I also understand that sometimes book 1 is used just to build a base for the upcoming series.

I just can’t get with the main character-female or male being beaten down so much without a hint of a silver lining over things so trivial. No friends , no one in their family, no support whatsoever. And there’s no other follow up book in the series. It makes me not want to continue it until the series is completed because this is absurd. As far as the writing and world building, the story definitely conveys. It’s just sad. I’ll wait til next year to see if Olivia has a redemption arch because no story should be this cruel on its own. Maybe even 2027. I need a break. Even dark mafia romances and other school bully romances have something to offer by way of positivity. This is just sad.

No idea why I finished this one

This book is all different kinds of awful. I genuinely don't know whu I finished it. It's also bizarrely long winded. Nothing really happens. The main character is a shallow, pathetic, elitist. There's nothing to really like about her. I pity the way she's hounded, but she's such a drip, I don't really care that much. Definitely won't be reading the next one.

She is a dead blood and shunned by all. Having no power she cannot even defend herself against the many bullies who have made it clear that she is not wanted here. This book has it all... , unrequited love, hate, bullies, need to belong, just everything. I really liked it.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Klarissa King; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Poor Olivia. She surely has a backbone made of steel for all the maliciousness she has endured from a former childhood friend and not to forget her twin btother? And that cliffhanger ending? Can't wait to see what happens between Olivia and Dray!

Bluestone academy is about Olivia who is a witch who has no powers and is made to go to the academy we’re they train witch’s. But because she has no powers she bully on a regular basis but what makes it worst is it is her once best friend Dray and her twin brother and his mates. They make her life a living hell and she won’t tell her parents what is going on at school. Olivia and Dray were meant to get married because there family’s are form the elite and it would have be an arrange married to form an alliance between the two family’s but Dray hates her and can’t stand to be around her.she has been told by her father that he is in talks with another family and that she more or less engaged but he can’t say to whom it might be her world falls a part.

It is really sad that she won’t tell her parents what is happening because they do love her. But has to hurt the most her brother is one of the bullies and also her once best friend. I enjoyed the book and really felt for Olivia characters because she is in an impossible situation and I really hope the the married request is not fromDrays family because he has been so vile towards her I would have loved for her to be able to marry Eric but don’t think that will happen. Loved the book and can’t wait for the second book to find out what happens next to Olivia fingers crossed her life gets better for her

Book 2 is just as frustrating as the first. User vs. Abuser. User vs. User.

What do I mean by this? Olivia found a potential fiancé in a teacher, but after reading the whole section, I realized that Olivia was not the only one playing games here. She deserved it. Motivated to find a substitute for Dray, she led Eric on. Warning: there is ho-hum sex.

Her father refused to listen to her pleas. Dray found more ways to abuse her, and her brother finally felt a little guilty. Does it matter? No. But despite Olivia's obstinacy in considering or planning for her future, Serena offered an out....and I wanted to read more about Serena. She must have motivations, but she is the sympathetic, take-control character I wanted to read about.

I love possessive males, and maybe that is what appeals to me in this genre now. I love redemption. I love a protagonist who is capable of growing and succeeding. Let's cross our fingers!

Despite my aggravation over Olivia, the story is so captivating (as every Quinn Blackbird novel has been for me) that I gobble up every one of her stories.

3.5 stars….. I really enjoy Blackbird’s books when I’m in the mood to read something quick and fast. I read the first series a while back and at the time she (Blackbird) was a new author to me and I loved the first book. I gave 3.5 because I like the premises of the story but I felt like from what I remembered the main heroine has changed her personality from the first book than this one. I do highly recommend this author especially her bully romances bc the antihero are really truly that the bully antiheroes, which I like as long as they redeem theirselves in the end, when book 3 comes out I will be reading it and hopefully it won’t take as long.
