A survivor of a tornado that destroyed her hometown, Pearl McMaster joins her grandparents in Walker Creek, Texas when her parents set out for California. She’s healed from a terrible injury but even so, she would have only slowed them down. Now she’s late for lunch with her new friends Kari, Ingrid, and Anita. Walking with the help of her cane, she’s almost to the hotel in spite of two boys following close behind her. She doesn’t know them. Why are they taunting her so cruelly?
A drifter, Daniel Grant plans to leave Walker Creek as soon as he earns money for train fare. Lingering in one place makes people start asking questions, which is why he keeps to himself. The last thing he wants to do is to get close to anyone! Yet when he sees two boys tormenting a lovely young woman, one of them bumping into her, Daniel manages to catch her just in time. He guessed her infirmity the moment he saw her awkward gait. He couldn’t just let her fall and suffer further injury, could he?

Miriam Minger says: It's been a wonderful experience to have all my novels published as eBooks, but the greatest thrill for me as a writer is when readers take the time to let me know they enjoyed my stories...
"I have read hundreds if not thousands of books in my lifetime and not once have I ever been moved to comment on one until now. This is without a doubt one of the best books I have ever read. I laughed. I cried. I remained at the edge of my seat devouring every single word you wove with this incredible story. I just wanted to let you know how deeply this story moved me and to thank you for creating it."
Wow. This one left me speechless, and thankful. I had done my job, which is to make you feel like you've dropped feet first into a world that captures your imagination and emotions so vividly you might be living and breathing the story. And that's one of the purest joys of reading, isn't it? I know it is for me, and it is my hope to continue to write books that make you live and breathe the adventure, laugh and cry, and that touch your heart.

Pearl (Walker Creek Brides Book 4) by Miriam Minger 5 Stars Pearl is a sweet heartfelt story about a young woman who had come to Walker Creek Texas to live with her grandparents after a tornado ripped through her home town and the seamstress shop she worked at bringing the ceiling down crushing her right leg, two years prior. As she walked in town a couple teenagers decided to make fun of her calling her peg leg Pearl, and chanting why would beauty be wasted on a girl missing a leg. Then mimicking her hobbled gait, one boy pushed the other into her, sending her crashing towards the ground when a man caught her before she could hit the ground. The unknown drifter was so enraged he chased and caught the boys, and by the scruff of the neck he brought them to Pearl to apologize for their horrible actions. I soooo badly want to say more about this very touching story but, I don’t want to ruin it by saying too much. However, I will say that there is much much more to this story with twist you won’t see coming that made this story extraordinarily moving! I’ve loved every book in this series, and I can’t wait for the next in this series. I highly recommend this short story to absolutely everyone who loves a great feel good short story that will tug at your heartstrings and fill your heart with love and hope. “For those who feel broken, take heart.” Happy Reading♥️ LailC Content: E for Everyone Sweet love story with a few kisses.
Imaginative developments just keep happening in the Walker Creek Brides stories, and the fourth installment had me fully immersed in the lives of a couple who had very unalike reactions to the tragic events each have gone through. Pearl could have become despondent after a devastating incident, but her faith has kept her strong during the days that followed. What took place in Daniel’s life has left him grief-stricken with guilt, and he does all he can to not think about his painful past. Yet mysterious circumstances have them coming in contact, and neither could have predicted what would occur next. I certainly came to adore the main characters in PEARL, while their personal storylines grabbed my attention from the first paragraph to the final scene.
When the parents of Pearl McMaster decide to make California their new home, she goes to stay with her grandparents in another Texas town called Walker Creek. She has already lived through some tough times, especially after being injured in a tornado which left her with a permanent limp, and she is determined to make her new life go well. An incident with two teenage boys has Daniel Grant coming to her aid when she would surely have fallen. But his good deed results in him getting into trouble, not keeping the low profile that the drifter constantly tries to maintain, and Pearl feels responsible.
I so wanted a relationship between Pearl and Daniel to work out, as they have endured lots of anguish. While these two are affected by suffering in greatly different ways, they both deserve some happiness in their futures. I really liked how the author made each situation this couple faced seem conceivable, as Miriam Minger cleverly creates believable scenarios that come across as a true-to-life event. Pearl is a woman whom I admired for her positive attitude, and Daniel’s considerate nature is demonstrated by his thoughtful actions. There are more books to be released in the series, and I am very eager for the chance to see what the upcoming central characters get to experience.
It seemed I was visiting old friends as I began this wonderful addition to the Walker Creek Brides! Having survived a tornado that took half the town, Pearl came to Walker Creek to live with her grandparents and try to make a life. She had quickly made friends but felt she would never know the happiness of having a husband and children since she lost her leg. "Peg Leg Pearl" the boys taunted and if not for that handsome man, she would have fallen. Who was he? Daniel Grant saw the boys tauning Pearl and could only go after them to make them apologize to her. He had been in Walker Creek just to earn money to move on. What he didn't expect was ending up in jail for dragging those boys through town and being accused of a public disturbance! But fate and maybe a few angels had other things in mind. Two souls who needed healing from the inside and and out take a journey to find that anything is possible.. Miriam Minger works her magic again in this lovely story that I could not read fast enough.. Do not miss it or the other books in this series. Simply wonderful.
Daniel and Pearl were both hurt by incidents in their past. She carries physical scars with her missing leg and he emotional ones that caused him to give up his career to be a drifter. I was angry along with Daniel as two teenage boys bullied and pushed Pearl because of her disability. There was plenty of suspense as he’s arrested for standing up for her and the fathers of those boys try to take justice in their own hands. I held my breath as a I read one incident after another and I cried with Pearl over her physical and emotional pain. This was a clean romance with a strong hero and heroine. It was great to catch up with the rest of the characters in this wonderful series.
Powerful and inspiring! This book was openly honest and faithful. Peal and Daniel slowly came together as halves to make a whole and that's where they found their passion. Spiritually connected together from the beginning, but they we're oblivious to it. It became an amazing interlude. Daniel running from the past and Pearl trying to find a future. They are the perfect couple along with their friends who all fell in love with Tante Kari's help and now Maria's; Daniel's sister who died. This is truly an amazing story. Oh and don't forget the danger and uncertainty; you have to find out all about out. Good luck!
Miriam Minger has given readers a book that is well-written and very enjoyable! Pearl is a short sweet romance about Pearl whose has a handicap and being teased by boys from the town. Daniel a drifter running from his past helps Pearl. I was captivated with Daniel and Hope's characters, they came to life as you find yourself drawn into their story. I always enjoy how well Miriam brings in the other characters from other series making for cohesive storytelling. I look forward the her next book!
This is a sweet and warm story of a couple who both overcame tragedy and heartache in their lives to find love. This is Pearl and Daniel's story both of whom have to work through some issues to discover that they are indeed worthy of a HEA. You will meet many old friends from previous books in the series and find some new friends, as well as some not so nice folks. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Another wonderful and sweet story from this series. Both Pearl and Daniel are outsiders in Walker Creek. Pearl is broken physically and Daniel is broken emotionally. When he rescues her, he also rescues himself as he finds a new reason to live a new life. With the help of friends and their guardian angel they find happily ever after.
This is a well written love story by Miriam Minger. This stories about Daniel, seemingly a down and out drifter and Pearl, an injured survivor of a devastating tornado. Neither of them with any hope for a future and certainly not love. You will enjoy reading this story and how they discover their happily ever after.
Another great sweet romance by Miriam Minger. I truly could not put this book down and didn't want the story to end. This was another great character that tugged at your heart. Can't wait to see what happens next in Walker Creek.
Heartwarming series with romance. Pearl is disabled physically Lydia and Daniel is disabled emotionally. Two hearts reaching towards each other wanting forgiveness, acceptance and love. - Babs

They manage to keep hope alive and fall in love to begin a new life in a small town called Walker Creek.Marian Minger has created a truly inspirational story that will definitely spark your imagination and will keep you wanting more.
This is the 4th book I read by Miriam Minger. I loved ❤ this book's storyline. Some parts of this book's storyline was sad 😞. I loved ❤ the Christian theme in this story. I loved ❤ Grant's character. I loved ❤ Pearl's character. I loved ❤ how I could relate to Pearl. I loved ❤ the updates on the others. I loved ❤ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Minger.
Sweet and romantic! I loved tender hearted Pearl….she was such a sweet, loving young lady. Daniel lived with so much grief thinking he had killed his sister and her newborn, that he fell into a deep depression. Will Pearl be able to help him find joy once again?
This was another short story, filled with finding love. Pearl was accosted by two boys. Pearl had lost part of her leg in a tornado the year before. A man she did not know intervened and helped her up. So much Morton this this story. I believe you will enjoy this as much as I have.
