Helpful supplement to studying the Book of Mormon. Includes the full text of the Book of Mormon with quotes from general authorities and historians and thoughtful questions in the margins. I’m not sure I liked this as much as the supplements I’ve read for the old and New Testaments, but it was still good.

I read this as one of two Book of Mormon study guides in the Book of Mormon year of study in the Come Follow Me Sunday school course. The guide took the Book of Mormon actual text and split up the chapter verses with quotes from authoritative sources such as prophets and apostles, scholars such as Hugh Nibley and resources such as BYU Religious Study Center, Maxwell Institute and Book of Mormon Central to shed light on that particular group of few verses.

I used this guide this year in my study of the Book of Mormon. The commentary was wide-ranging and helpful, drawing from the words of modern prophets, academic research, and more. Any deficiency in my experience I attribute to my own laziness or tiredness or inattention. There is a lot I didn't fully absorb, but I suppose that's why we study these scriptural books again and again.

The questions, quotes, and commentary notes in the side margins really help give thoughts and context to the scripture without giving the “here’s what you ought to think” or taking away the need to apply yourself to understanding. I really enjoyed it!
