Interesting little system, very bare bones and simple which is exactly what it's aiming to be. I could see using this for a quick games night when I had nothing prepared. Fully half the book is dedicated to various "micro-settings" which have various levels of quality and polish - the art is also quite nice and stylised, but unfortunately often repeated which is a bit of a shame. Still, nifty little book.

This is a very user-friendly, simple gaming system that can be ported into any campaign setting. I was impressed with the fact that everything can be resolved using, at most, three 6-sided dice. Because this system is highly story-focused and bare-bones, it is up to the Game Master to add "crunchy" elements like spell descriptions, weapon types, and the like - but then again, the designers assume you're probably going to do that anyway, or graft Tiny Dungeon onto an existing campaign setting.

Roughly half of the book is taken up with 20 or so 4-5 page campaign setting outlines that are intended as springboards to get you and your friends to use the system. Some of the sample settings are really quite ingenious, and I could see using a few of them as one-off scenarios for my own gaming group, or importing elements into my existing campaign.

Starting with the good:
-This is a great looking book. The cover and inside art is creative and fun. Overall, a very inviting presentation.
-The rules are LIGHT. Character creation is FAST. This system will best benefit players who are new to role playing and younger, first-time game masters.

The bad:
-The “Microsettings” section is half the book and as a whole, isn’t all that useful. At best, I would call this collection “setting ideas.” While these scenarios could be considered inspiration, most are too short and have no useful structure for a new GM to follow. Also, I’d love to see some of them include a map.
-I was excited to see all the dinosaurs in the monster section until I realized all of them are very similar mechanically.
-The “Running Adventures” section for game masters just isn’t helpful. It’s 4 pages of very general advice. I want some actionable points, things a young GM can take and directly implement at their table. Example of play is absent and could prove very helpful.
-There is no list of items or equipment. The book states that these are provided by the GM but I feel like this is a lost opportunity to introduce cool magical items.

Conclusion:
While anyone can pick up and play this system easily, I think it would be best for young adults (8-10) who are interested in GMing for the first time. With that in mind, the GM section and Microsettings section should provide more focused, comprehensible advice for what a GM does on and off the table. There’s no talk of homebrewing rules, traits, or spells, no advice for creating magical items or weapons. I think these are important subjects for a rules-light system that is bound to attract first-time rpg players.

I backed this one on Kickstarter too and yeah I am a fanboy, though an old one. I've been playing roleplaying games since 1978 and I have played and ran many. Tiny Dungeon is a D6 based game and the dice rolled are one to three D6's. This game smacks of OSR goodness. You can play a Bear Man for goodness sake! How cool is that?
The art chosen for this book is great and evocative. It supplements the words by the author and just gives an environmental boost that gets the creative juices flowing. I have run this for a group of teenagers twice, and they loved it. I also have to say that these small form factor books, for this is no 8 1/2 by 11 book (6 x 9), are becoming a favorite of mine. Easy to transport and convenient to whip out and get to rolling dice with. Mr. Bahr and Company have yet again knocked this one out of the park. Well done, Sir!

I like the IDEA of minimalist roleplaying, but haven’t really tried it that many times. Tiny Dungeon and one of the many genres and worlds given in this edition might be a good choice, if I ever gamemastered a short campaign with a minimalist system.

This nice and simple system and this nice publication deserves three nice stars.

I found Tiny Dungeon very approachable, if not too simplistic. However, I've been playing TTRPGs since the early '80s. If you are an experienced role player this system might be too simple. However, as a quick one-shot, or, as I used it, as an introductory TTPRG for kids, I feel you'd be hard pressed to find an easier system that still has D&D "flavor". Just my thoughts...

I like the simplified rules, and they worked well in my first game. Not sure why there are so many dino monsters, and the world building scenarios didn't seem that helpful vs. having some actual campaigns
