This is a great collection for a holiday read by Ms. Isaacson. Seven stories, I believe all happening at different ranches. So you can get an introductory story into the life at the various locations and then want to go read the series associated with that ranch. A really good marketing technique.

All the stories are unique, original, and totally satisfying. Ms. Isaacson threads through the inspirational Christianity without being heavy handed or preachy. The focus is on the romance and the how to overcome the obstacles standing in the way of happily ever after.

A good holiday pick.

The Beauty and the Beast

I like Liz Isaacson's writing. I enjoyed the first book in this compilation that is Graham and Laney's second chance romance a lot. They reconnect when Graham moved back home when his dad passes, and buys the property next door to here. She's a struggling single mom, living on a shoestring on the cattle ranch she inherited from her dad. He's a well off business man who bought a lodge for his personal home and can afford to hire or buy whatever he needs. He's also pretty oblivious to Laney's true situation but she puts up with him anyway. He's also running Springside Energy, the fracking company he inherited, which is a source of great stress for him, as well it should be. Coral Canyon, Wyoming is where both Graham and Labey grew up, as best friends. Now he's returned from a ten year absence. They rediscover each other slowly. When a power outage strands Laney and her daughter, Graham finally starts to show his true, generous self. Their romance is lovely and the return of his brothers to help him at his lodge is an interesting setup for this series. However, just know this compilation does not include the rest of the series. It has the first full novel of the Whiskey Ridge then and then for then various books from other series. Not what I thought I was getting, but I will read the remaining novels seperately.

Loved all of these stories.

The Mechanics of Mistletoe

What a fun story to read. You never know what life will throw at you but if you have good friends and a loving family, it will all work out.

Sammy has put her own life on hold five years ago after her sister and brother in law were killed in a car accident. She took her nephew, adopted him and was raising him alone. She was also taking care of her aging parents as well as running her own mechanics shop. She also went out on call to do repairs.

Bear is the oldest of a very large ranching family. He and his cousin, Ranger, are the main runners of their large cattle ranch. While they are all very wealthy, the whole family all work the land and the livestock. Bear has always lived up to his name and he never thought that he would find a woman to love and marry.

Can Sammy and Bear get over their differences and life goals to ever see how they feel about each other? You will have to read this wonderful story with all its ups and downs, happiness and sadness to find out for yourself.

Rhett’s Make-Believe Marriage

This story was fun to read. It was funny when I was learning about Evelyn and her profession, all I could think about that she was the embodiment of the old saying about the shoemaker’s children who go without shoes. She was great at figuring out exactly who would be a good match between the women of the town and the cowboys. But she could not do that for herself.

Rhett is that man that every woman dreams about having; caring, sensitive and patient. He knows what he wants but is not sure that the person what he wants feels the same about him. I really enjoyed this introduction to the Walker family. The brothers are all so different but they all seem to be on good terms with each other. I found Jeremiah to be very interesting would love to read more about him.

Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend

Really enjoyed this story about Graham and Laney, it shows that life has a way of coming back around. What was great about this story was how Graham learns about himself and what in important in life. He is 40 years old and just learns this lesson, so it is never too late. Even though Graham is a billionaire, he acts just like any man who is not one. He comes across, most of the time, as a down to earth man who is not sure where his life is going.

Laney has dealt with a lot in life and she is not one to run away or give up. I loved her courage running a ranch, raising a daughter and all on her own since her husband left her. She is one tough cookie.

What was nice about this story was that you got to see how real people look at relationships, life in general and how they deal with things that they have no control over. Looking forward to seeing what will happen with the other brothers.

Her Cowboy Billionaire Birthday Wish

What an enjoyable story about Annie and Colton. When wishes come true it is always a good story to read. I enjoyed Christmas with the Whittakers, they certainly made the holidays fun and welcomed everyone into their festivities.

Colton was a man who was left at the alter and had a lot of hurt inside him. He did not want to be with anyone or move on. He just wanted to leave and never return to his job where he was in the spotlight and not a good spotlight.

Annie was a widow with 2 daughters and finally ready to move on with her life. She did not want to be alone any longer but it was not easy in the small town where she lived. The Whittakers were giving her a belated birthday party and she made a wish to find that man.

Cheering the Cowboy

This story really brought out how anger can destroy your life. Shay and Austin are both dealing with a lot of anger. It is interesting that both of their anger is due to their fathers.

Shay’s mother died and this turned her entire world upside down. She made vows to never be like her father and she was angry at him for losing their ranch. She was lucky to work there for a while when the Royal brothers bought it.

Austin was the youngest of the 3 Royals and he was the only one who still had a relationship with his father. The other brothers refused to have anything to do with their father after he cheated on their mother and lost their ranch. Austin’s anger at his father was because his father could always manipulate him.

The fact that Shay and Austin find themselves together too often and have to overcome so much. But the story shows that maybe life can survive anger.

Last Chance Christmas

I love the whole idea of Last Chance Ranch and what they do to help animals get adopted. The story was very hard to put done because I really wanted to know what would happen. But I was not a fan of Amber and thought that she was way too fickle. Loved Lance, he is one of those very special men who love his family and wants to make the world a better place.

When Amber and Lance finally start up their relationship which only came about because Lance’s friends knew how he felt and wanted him to be happy. I was surprised about how Amber reacted and how patient Lance was with her. I guess life has a way of showing what is the best place for us to be as this story shows.

The Sleigh on Seventeenth Street

What a sweet story about love. It was so sweet to watch Dylan, a man who had a heart as big as Texas, slowly find the love of his life. He had to practice patience even when he thought he had no more, he found that he really did have more.

Cami is one strong woman who has survived abuse and had made a way for herself in what most think of as a man’s profession, a plumber. She was good at her job and probably worked harder than most men in the profession because she was a woman. She was not one that was expecting to find a man she could trust until she met Dylan.

Hmmmm

The Colton /Annie story ruined the whole series. They are grown adults. Annie want marriage after six days of knowing each other. She acts like a 16 year ..... A immature 16 year old. It was silly. I stopped right there.

First story. The song is "Away in a Manger" NOT Manager.

This is a good collection, especially if you haven’t read all of Liz Isaacson’s books. I had already read all of these but this encouraged me to reread the different series. I love all of her books and enjoy the interaction between the family members and even the families in other series. Her characters are well developed and are people you want to know.

I love Liz isaacson

So much romance novels end up being porn literature. I rely on Isaacson, you never have any problem with her sweet christian romances. Love the characters, no easy endings, keep you reading.

Gotta love a cowboy

Considering a second marriage when the first one fails is very difficult. Further difficult is not painting the new guy with the faults of the old.

Nice stories but a little weak on substances and no real discussion about religion and dating / sex. Pretty predictable.
