That night was hands down the best night of my life. A magical night with the man of my dreams. The aftermath changed everything. After weeks of silence from him and a positive pregnancy test, it was safe to say I was in full out panic mode. Until I walked into a conference room only to find Mr. Man-of-my-dreams-father-of-my-unborn-child at the head of the table. Turns out the VP of finance isn’t an old boring guy with white hair. Two different cities. A baby on the way. An intense attraction. And he’s technically my boss. Life just got even more complicated.
K.I. Lynn is the USA Today Bestselling Author from The Bend Anthology, Amazon Bestseller Becoming Mrs. Lockwood, and the Amazon Bestselling Series, Breach. She spent her life in the arts, everything from music to painting and ceramics, then to writing. Characters have always run around in her head, acting out their stories, but it wasn't until later in life she would put them to pen. It would turn out to be the one thing she was really passionate about.
Since she began posting stories online, she's garnered acclaim for her diverse stories and hard hitting writing style. Two stories and characters are never the same, her brain moving through different ideas faster than she can write them down as it also plots its quest for world domination...or cheese. Whichever is easier to obtain... Usually it's cheese.
That Night is KI Lynn's newest stand-alone romance. It's got a surprise baby, a workplace romance, and a bit of insta-love. And I couldn't put it down. I always enjoy KI Lynn's writing and this was such an easy to read romance.
Natasha is out for New Years Eve and meets a guy... this guy enthralls her from the first moment she lays eyes on him. His name is Richard and they share one magical night together, then she goes back home to her home in Indianapolis. Imagine her surprise when a few months later she finds out she's pregnant. And a few days later she runs into the elusive Richard again. In her office.
Richard and Natasha have a lot of chemistry, but their relationship isn't easy. Not only is there a bit of distance between them, but Richard is married to his job and often puts it over everything. It takes something big to happen for him to change his ways.
If you're looking for a quick read that will hold your attention from start to finish I recommend this one. It's steamy, fun, and has just enough emotion to pull you in to Natasha and Richard's love story.
Meh.. mediocre story for the “surprise pregnancy” trope.
The hero was not my cup of tea. He wasn’t exactly a bad guy but he didn’t have his priorities right and for the entire book he was pretty much one foot in, one foot out when it comes to their relationship and the baby.
His realisation came too late, although he did make major changes to show he was fully committed from that point onwards.
That Night - this book captures my attention from the beginning. The main characters, Richard and Natasha, were honest with themselves and what their hearts wanted but did not always act upon it. There was incredible chemistry between them. And I like how it was written, it's not filled with too much of anything -- everything was just right. You will fall in love with this story. It was a light and entertaining read which I could not put down. If you have a chance to read this book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Translation widget on the blog!!!
For most people when they get pregnant from a one-night stand, they are freaking out. Most likely wondering what to do. Going through the “my life is over, and I didn’t even know the guy.” Not necessarily for Natasha, besides it wasn’t long after finding out she was pregnant did she see that sexy guy again and found out he was her boss.
Natasha and Richard kicked it off from the start. They had what the cool kids call insta love. Which was fine, perfect more like it. Until it wasn’t. Natasha had so much patience to her because girl, I don’t if I would have that much for him. I like Richard, he made me mad and frustrated, but I did really like him.
Quick side note, I am so glad we didn’t get to meet Richards father, I probably would have wanted to throw my kindle and then pick it up and throw it again. Just reading Richard talk about him made me want to punch a wall.
Overall a good read not angsty, but a very nice flowing story.

Natasha's unbelievably sexy night with a gorgeous hottie has left her with unintended consequences. The permanent kind of consequences. Unfortunately, she's not heard from him so she's left to deal with those consequences on her own. Until she walks into her office and sees Mr. One Night himself. That he's the new VP puts a slight crimp in plans she may have had regarding her ONS and his participation with their unintended consequences.
Whoah! I freakin' love That Night!!! Why you ask? Well for a few reasons, but #1 being Natasha. She's the kind of heroine I love most - smart, funny, sassy and independent, and with a big heart, oh and the patience of a saint. But I love Richard too even though he behaved like an oblivious male one too many times. When he wasn't being a typical idiot, he was sweet and funny and down and dirty, just my kind of guy. That Night is the perfect kind of romance - super sexy, and more importantly, emotionally rich, and entertaining with two lovable characters.

Good story. Well written. No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine. Hero dedicated to his job and affected by previous bad relationship experience. His job situation is difficult as he's the boss plus they live in different states. The realisation moment comes quite late but he does make huge changes to show remorse. HEA. Epilogue.

“One spilled drink. One glance. One magical night."
I seem to be on the book gods good side! 2 books in a row that are 5 stars reads for me!!! My last read was a 5 star and now this book!!! I loved every single page of this book!! Richard and Natasha relationship felt so real!!!
I loved Natasha character!!! She had a in your face personality. She liked to be upfront with Richard. I felt like meeting him the way she did... there was nothing holding her back. She was real. And I loved that. Because it takes a while for people to let their hair down. And the night they met... everything seemed to come together for them. It all just clicked.
The club sex scene was on point! I could feel the chemistry between them while I was reading it! Richard left everything at the door the night he met Natasha. He was doing things he had never done before. I think that’s why it clicked for them. They were both open with each other. That night changed both of their lives.
This is where I can relate to the main characters in this book. I only knew my hubby for 3 months when I found out I was pregnant ( we just celebrated our 23rd anniversary!). The first year was the hardest. You’re having a baby with a stranger! So getting to know someone while you’re preparing for a baby is a lot. And having it be a long distance relationship/ get to know you is hard! My hubby was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton. I lived about 2 hours away (with traffic about 3! That’s LA). And in a time with no cell phones! Only pagers 📟 and pay phones! Yes, I’m old! 😂 So... I know what Richard and Natasha were kinda going through. Some of those problems are hard to work through.
I liked how Richard made the effort in the beginning. But slowly you could see the cracks with him. Which I get. Like I said... I’ve been there. I love how everything unfolded. And Richard was finally able to pull it all together!
Overall... I really like this book. I wanted more at the end! I didn’t want it to end! This is my first book by this author. I will be definitely checking out this authors other books!

(This same review is on my blog Goodreads account.)
I have always enjoyed everything I have read by K.I. Lynn, but it has been a while since I have read anything new by her. One of my favorite tropes is an accidental pregnancy, so I had really high expectations for 'That Night'. I am sad to say, I did not love 'That Night', I can only say it was just Idk a little bit okay. I didn't feel the depth of this story, and I needed that. I think if this author would have did away with most of the sexy scenes ( there was A LOT), I could have had a more in-depth- story that I would have enjoyed. I am all for the sexy times, but there is a thing as too much. I feel like in dang near every chapter it was there, and most of the time it was more than one or two pages. It completely took over the story. They did have chemistry, explosive chemistry but I could not investigate that further because of all the sexy times.
When it came to the characters especially the Hero, I quickly learned he was on my **** list. At first, I loved him, and then things just went south. I felt like he was selfish and inconsiderate. In the end, he held no redeeming qualities for me. Overall I did like the heroine. At times, she got on my nerves because she was supposed to be the one that takes no bull crap, and she let the bull crap keeping happening which went against her character.
The story-line was there, I just needed more. I am sure other people will like this one better than me, and that's okay, to each to their own. Hopefully K.I. Lynn's next release fits me better.
After an unexpected magical night spent with Richard on New Year’s Eve Natasha soon finds out that she is pregnant. Unfortunately, she has not heard back from her mystery man who she had an instant connection with, especially after he took down her telephone number. She reconciles herself that she will be a single parent and wonders how she will manage on her own. Low and behold when she enters a board meeting in her hometown the man chairing the meeting is none other than her sexy one-night stand and happens to be her Boss. The moment they lay eyes upon one another their chemistry is ignited once again. When Natasha tells Richard the news, he is very accepting and wants to do what is right by her and the baby. Together they struggle to navigate their way forward especially as he is residing in a different city 3 hours away from her and was badly hurt in his first marriage by betrayal.
The chemistry between the two of them was undeniably hot and the banter between them playful and fun. There was some angst too especially with Richard as he had to learn to let go of the past and move forward, which meant he had to trust his feelings, open up his heart to love Natasha and not his job which has taken over his life.
This was a wonderful good feel read and will put a smile on your face in these trying times we are all experiencing.
I received an ARC for an honest opinion, all thoughts are my own.
That Night by KI Lynn is a deliciously tempting read. It's a one night stand/ pregnant from the one night stand/ insta chemistry/ pregnant from a person from work (without giving anything more specific away). Richard and Natasha were just great characters who had insanely hot chemistry together. They both had obstacles to overcome; one person more so than the other. At times , I did feel like the story became rushed in certain spots, especially toward the end. But there is something about this story that will make you sit down, lay back and delve into this story and get into the story. Richard and Natasha's story has feels that will have you rooting for them... Ms. Lynn wrote a great read with fantastic main characters & awesome secondary characters.
Another 5 star read that had me hooked. The instant connection between Richard & Natasha is off the charts. This book will definitely give you all the feels. I love everything about Natasha & Richards story even the up and downs and there ended was perfect. I’m hoping that Keenan will get his own story. Phenomenal read that everyone must one click.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
The story was unpolished and rushed. I liked the build up but when the book reached a tumultuous point, the climax was flat and uninspiring. What’s worse, the grovel was not even satisfying. As in it was so disappointing that I think I’ll be scraping off this author from my TBR for a few good years. The feeling left a hole in my gut that I don’t know how to get rid off. Ugh. Just so dang frustrated right now. 😪
Okay it is known that I love anything this girl writes. I mean how can you not. But this one. This was the first of her books that the description didn’t immediately suck me in. I started slow because I wasn’t sure but after that first part I was hooked not on the story but on the main character Natasha. She wasn’t weak! She wasn’t some silly girl! She had flaws, she had spunk and most importantly she had a brain. She didn’t just fall instantly at the guys feet begging him to take her away from life. I loved that! The fact that she refused to just give up her life for a relationship too also made my day. But what made me fall even more for her was the point towards the end of the book where she took a stand to protect herself. When she did that I instantly wanted more story from this character. Sadly this is a book that does conclude so wonderfully but in a way that does shut the door for any future sequel. Which is fine because it just means I’ll be reading this over & over when I have a free moment.
In regards to the male lead in this I want to love Richard. I really do and for the first half of the book I truly did! But then he does something most moronic men do when in a relationship they weren’t ready for, and I was instantly wanting to fly into my phone and shake him silly. He’s a good character full of flaws & issues which is nice to see. He makes dumb decisions based on experience and it leads him down paths that will make you want to hit him. But it’s all worth it in the end.
If you’re looking for a quick read but something that will stick with you look no further. This is very much worth the over 2 hours in length that it is and very much worth your time. It’s also nice to have another new story from K.I.Lynn.
Despite practically being an insta love story, which is’nt a favourite of mine this book was an easy 5 Star for me.
Richard although a man with solid walls around his heart and has major trust issues caused by his past was definitely a keeper! He was funny, quirky, hot, sexy.. trust me he was the Full Package!
Natasha, omg that woman, I loved her! She was smart, motivated, sassy and definitely no pushover!
So without any spoilers (because you just need to dive in!!).....
Right from the start The heat, lust and Chemistry between the two was flame throwing out of the pages. Both are knocked sideways by their feelings after a New Years Eve one night stand, but new years day arrives all too quickly and they go their separate ways. Natasha is disappointed when he doesn't contact her again even though she gave him her fone number. Move on a few weeks and Natasha discovers she’s pregnant, starts a new job and finds out her mystery man is her boss!
I love how this author gave us this couple, although their connection was instant as was my love for them, their path to their ultimate HEA wasn't a smooth path and i was hooked to every page. You just never knew what was going to come next nor where your emotions would be, from tears to laughter, from swooning to wanting to slap them. A thoroughly light angsty yet emotionally charged captivating read that i didn’t want to end.
Natasha & Richard... have one hot night. Then wham, shes pregnant. And surprise (GASP LOUDLY) guess what!? he's her boss. <-Ok, now that i have my dislikes out of the way i can move on.
This book was good! It was sweet, it had a backstory, it had emotion. There was no reason for the overused accidental pregnancy and he's her boss.
I felt the real emotion when Richard was having his moment (aka, having his man period.) I liked that Natasha stood up to him. Definitely worth the read!!! <3
This was a great book with just enough angst to keep me from sleeping until I finished. I loved Richard and Natasha and their slightly quirky office romance.
So the thing that really gets me excited about an unplanned pregnancy and an affair with the boss is the build up to the big reveal, the reaction.
In this story, it just kind of happened in the first couple of pages and fell flat. The story never really recovered its pace or found any chemistry.
It's an office romance, but that wasn't really exploited for tension. There was a woman in the workplace seemingly making trouble but that seemed to get forgotten about. Actually, there were a couple of other things as well that didn't make sense or get followed up, it was as though the author lost interest or something.
Idk, this really wasn't up to this author's usual standard. Shame.
This is my first K.I. Lynn book and I loved every minute of it and finished it in one sitting. I love surprise baby books and this one was sexy hot! You will get totally invested in this couple. Their chemistry is like a rushing waterfall that meets a tidal wave and it was spectacular! This story will give you all the feels and is a definite one click. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
That night was the night everything changed. That night was fun, sexy, different. That night was the beginning...
If you get past the cringey dialogue from the first chapters you'll get to read a nice office romance with a twist.
What I liked about this book was the fact that even though most of the time Richard seemed one foot in, one foot out he was still not running away or ignoring his responsibility.
He did not behaved like he needed to be convinced of the reality, of the fact that he was the culprit and that That Night was the night that will change his life forever.
This book had a little bit of drama because of Richard, but what I liked was the fact that Natasha was true to herself the whole time. She was caring, she admitted when things changed, she accepted the sad reality that Richard was married to his work and she was strong enough to decide what's best for herself and stick to that decision.
I like that she pushed Rick's boundaries sometimes, but knew when not to, knew when to give him time to think, reflect, come around.
I love reading about strong, independent female characters, I love reading about loving families, caring friends and the importance of these things. Family is important, friends that become family are amazing, we should normalize this, we should apply this in our day to day life more often.
I liked the ending and the dynamic of this book. For me it was a 4⭐️ read.
I LOVE me some K.I. Lynn stories, so she's earned my particular bias towards her, as I'll NEVER NOT ONCE get enough! That Night is an amazing read that I didn't want to put down, nor did I ever want it to end. It's a tad insta in everything because the first night that Richard & Natasha met, the lust was instantly born, then just when she thought she would never see Richard again, he walks in to the place she works, as he's kind of her boss (but bigger as the VP), and get this... she's even pregnant. Next up is a whirlwind of feelings being caught instantly, though he really did try to keep them at bay, to the point where he self sabotaged, and Natasha wasn't there for that. It led to some crazy dramatic happenings that to this point had been on the low end, but I'm not complaining to be honest, since long distance is hard, while accidentally getting pregnant to set new things in motion, then having fate step in while all of these other things are going, well, no one stood a chance, no matter how much they tried to pretend it wasn't happening. Richard has dug quite the hole for himself, so can he fix things?! You'll have to one click to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
I got pregnant on New Year's Eve. That night was hands down the best night of my life. A magical night with the man of my dreams. The aftermath changed everything. After weeks of silence from him and a positive test, it was safe to say I was in full up panic mode. Until I walked into a conference room only to find Mr. Man-of-my-dreams-father-of-my-unborn-child at the head of the table. Turns out the VP of finance isn't an old boring guy with white hair. Two different cities. A baby on the way. An intense attraction. And he's technically my boss. Life just got even more complicated.
This is the story of Natasha and Richard. Oh poor Natasha!!! I would freak out if I had had a one night stand and then found out I was pregnant I would be freaking out!!! Not Natasha. She took it fairly well but however it didn't take long for her to see the guy again when she finds out that he is her boss. I loved these two characters and I loved how they had this instant connection. I also just wanna say that Natasha has a huge heart and is a saint. I would have smacked Richard a time or twenty but that is part of the guys charm. He can make you mad and then turn around and have you right back to loving him again. I loved this book. It is a instalove story but it really held my attention and I didn't put it down until I was finished.
I simply loved this book. This is the book of K I Lynn's that I've read and I found her writing fantastic. The way she described the main characters, Natasha and Richard, left you feeling like you knew them. There were times where I got so annoyed with Richard but then my heart would go out to him with what had happened to him in the past. I'm definitely going to be reading more of this author's work.
There were parts of this story that I really liked...like hello, I always love a surprise pregnancy story, but there were parts of the story that I felt like really could have used more development. I overall really enjoyed the main characters and felt like they had a good connection, but I felt like there were parts of their relationship that really needed to be explored more and developed further also.
I think at times the story seemed a little all over the place, impacting the overall flow of the story, and I think that while Richard took steps to rectify his shortcomings and the flaws that led to the difficulties in his relationship with Natasha, it seemed like the ending came really quickly and she forgave him awfully fast and it seemed like their should have been maybe a little more lead up to that in my opinion.
I think the overall story line had a lot of promise, but the execution fell a little flat for me. Overall, not my favorite of K.I. Lynn's books, but I have loved everything of hers that I have read before, so I will continue to read her work in the future and think that maybe this one just wasn't for me.
