Pacific Northwest author L.L. Frost writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance with snarky characters and descriptive world-building. Whether she's writing a fast burn romance about witches, wolf shifters, and vampires, or teasing a slow burn romance while hunting demonic monsters, her passion is for character driven novels.
Growing up in a rainforest gave L.L. Frost plenty of time to daydream while spending cozy days under a blanket with her cats by her side. Sipping tea or chugging coffee, you can find her with a book or laptop in hand, imagining new worlds.
Takeback is the eight installment in L.L. Frost’s Succubus Dreams serial arc in her Succubus Harem series and this book is absolutely delicious! Takeback continues where the last serial left off and you get the full range with this book and I love it. You get a joyful reunion, you get sadness, you get humor, you get a taste of lust, and the thrill of danger. For those who are hoping for a longer installment…get ready because this one delivers. Takeback is probably my favorite installment of this particular arc. It packs so much in it and I couldn’t get enough. The author builds hope with each page, but then will bring you crashing back to reality which I love. I love that nothing is ever going to go perfectly for the characters and that is what keeps me page-turning the most, the hope that they will win out to be the heroes that they are striving so hard to be. I really like it when Adie shows some maturity and in this book she really does that more often than not. I narrow my eyes a bit at her a couple of times, but I understand her feelings nonetheless in those particular scenes. If you are to this point in this serial/series then you already know the deal. Get ready for a cliffhanger that is going to have you rearin’ to go along with Adie and the rest charging into the next and final installment of this particular story arc. So when you hit that last page and see “final installment” just ignore it…it’s a mistake and there’s one more to come as the epic battle is just ahead. I am rating this installment 5 out of 5 stars. I love all of the emotions that I get with this book. It absolutely had me begging for more and I can’t wait for the big battle that is coming against the Dreamer. If you’ve read this far and enjoyed this series/serial then I encourages you to keep going. You’re not going to want to miss out.
The plan is in motion. Adie, her demons, the hag, the witches, the incubi, and the BBBB are mobilized. They are destroying bridges and drones. It's almost time to face the Dreamer. This is an action packed episode full of tension. Not just the fight but also with Adie still making things right between her and those she cares about. One scene in particular, but no spoilers... My biggest concern isn't the Dreamer, however. It's for Adie's future. Her fears for her corporeal form overshadowed the entire story for me. I am so worried! I want her succubus energy restored and the ley line energy gone. I don't want her separated from her Destruction Demons again. There has to be a way!
This installment of the Succubus Harlem serial like the last one, has left me desperate for more!! This installment deals with the the team embarking on the (for lack of better words) adventure of going after the Dreamer. Of course Frost ends this one where all the characters are in Deep S**t so beware if your not a fan of cliff hangers - i personally love them even though I'm needing more. I'm glad Addie was able to speak with Jillian about her actions and even more elated about the surprise she received when she got there. I cant wait for the next book in this serial to be released!!!
I have been sucked into a world of succubi, demons, imps, and witches, and of course, baku. Please don’t make me return to reality.
The world of LL Frost’s creation is amazingly vivid and detailed, enchanting at every twist. I’ve devoured these books faster than a Baku eating a dreamer. I’m disappointed that I finally caught up to her current writing and am impatient for the next book to come out.
The team all gathers together in order to hit the coma ward where they figure the Dreamer is establishing a permanent bridge into the human plane. Adie also takes some time to apologize to Julian for what she did by dumping her power on him the way Domnall did and destroying her corporeal body. I'm glad she did that because she hurt him quite a bit with that move.
Now, though, it's time for the final showdown. A battle ready Adie is pretty cool.
This book was just all action and Adie and her team of witches, demons and Baku all kickin’ butt and takin’ names of the Dreamer’s drones. All in a day’s work to save the human plane. But it looks like the real test is yet to come... Love this series!
This one brought some tears to my eyes. It felt like she was saying goodbye. I’m happy she apologized to her cousin because he’s amazing and I love him, I’m glad they made up.
Now that the series has gone into the direction it has, I've not been as eager to continue but I must finish at this point. I still enjoy the characters, but the storyline just isn't fun anymore!
