Presumes a knowledge of Latin Grammar. Prepares students to read texts in philosophy, theology, and canon law. 232 pp. of vocabulary and 3,000-word Lat.-Eng. glossary. Excellent!
A very useful book this is for immersion into the Latin language especially with regard to theology and canon law. Small grammatical reminders there are in each lesson and a decent vocabulary also, but the value of this book is in the wading through the short assigned texts of the forty chapters.
The grammatical sections in each chapter are short and to the point. The word studies are also very useful, as are the idiomatic constructions introduced in the second part of the book. My next latin reader should be classical and with an element of fable and mythology. Ovid, maybe.
