A Modern Fable
This is a fairly quick, fast-paced and easy to read story. The writing prose very much so lends itself to reading like a modern fable much, in the same vein as J.R.R. Tolkien's Farmer Giles of Ham or Smith of Wandsworth.
That said, there are a few times I would have liked more details or better dialogue. Some of the characters seem too quick to be agreeable or perhaps not developed enough.
Keeping in mind my Tolkien comparison, this book is well worth looking at and reading with that fairytale/fable-like quality to it. Plus there appears to be the promise of a sequel.
