Meet: Tattoo shop owned by Raci's Uncle.
Problems: Well, he's a Mermen and she's not. He's looking for his mate after a curse that forces him to try and find his mate once a month.
Racine lives with her Uncle Jesse and Aunt Carla in Aurora Falls. Every month there are Mermen and Mermaids that leave the Lake to try and find their mates. Well, as you can imagine searching for your mate can be exhausting. What happens when you find your mate? Well, you'll have to read this book!

Mountain Ink is my
first venture into merman and holy ish!! Darlene Tallman can bring the sexy to
any books she writes. Mountain Ink is all about breaking a curse. Dax is a
Viking who has been cursed to live in the water until he finds his soul mate.
Will he find her? Is she out there?
Racine is a tattoo
artist who had a hard childhood until her uncle and aunt took her in. She is
happy in life, minding her own business (literally) when Dax walks into
Mountain Ink tattoo parlor. And this is where my synopsis ends.
I prefer to tell you
things you aren't going to read about, because if I continue to write the plot
of the book what good is trying to read the book? You would already know the
plot, twists and turns due to a loud mouth. While I'm generally loud in life I
try not to be when it comes to books. Books are meant to be experienced.
Mountain Ink is an experience. It is one I am so glad I ventured into.
Tallman has a gift
of drawing you in and making you care for her characters. Her men are strong,
intelligent, and loving. Her woman are made to match. Smart mouthed, strong as
hell and not really "needing" a significant other. Yet when they find
each other the fires blaze higher and stronger than before. Just walking into a
Darlene Tallman world makes the reader feel emotions they have probably never
acknowledged before. She can make you want to cry or string someone up by their
bootstraps.
By the end of
Mountain Ink you are already craving more of Dax, Racine, and their world.

This story is cute and easy to read. Dax is/ was a cursed Viking only able to come to land a few days a month in search of his to lift the curse. Racine is mistreated child until her uncle and aunt came to rescue her. As an adult her uncle and aunt has given her the love the cherish that a child needed. One day Dax go to the tattoo shop owned by Racine uncle to get a piece that her uncle was supposed to do. They both had instant connection instant chemistry but he can't reveal who he is until she spots his mark on her own. The following month he's there to retouch up his tattoo and she spots it she's scared from past trauma in her life and is afraid he will not accept it. Not only does he accept it but he surpasses and loves her no matter what. great read love Dax and Racine can't wait for to read the rest.

I really enjoyed this book. Vikings cursed 1000 years ago by an angry witch can only come to shore and live as a man for 3 days a month. The curse is only broken when their fated mate sees their mark and they mate. Dax is growing tired of the process but is determined to find his mate. He goes to get a tattoo and meets the owner’s niece, Racine, and is instantly attracted. She also finds herself drawn to a man for the first time. Racine is a very shy and private person due to abuse by her mother. Her aunt and uncle saved the little girl and raised her. Is she Dax’s fated mate? You need to dive in to find out.

A great romance read
Racine, a tattoo artist, is alone in the shop when Dax, a cursed Viking, arrives for some work that her Uncle Jesse was going to do for him. As the story progresses her past holds her back, his present holds him hostage, and learning about their connection may cause more problems than either knows. Darlene Tallman’s Mountain Ink is a great romance read featuring a mountain town, cursed Vikings, and finding a soulmate. I will definitely have to read more about the members of Dax’s ship mates.
I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This is the adult version of Little Mermaid. It brings all of the elements of a great story to light.
The people of the lake are under a curse, they are only allowed above water , to walk on land 3 days a month, in which time they have to try to find their true mates. If they do not find their mate, then they go back to the bottom of the lake and either stay there forever or return each month ,hoping to find the mate.
If they find their mate, they break their individual curse and are integrated in to the population of the town. They each have the love of a life time and live a happy life.

This book was quite unexpected and completely enjoyable. I experienced a gamut of emotions for both Racine and Dax. Racine's young life just broke my heart. Thanks to her Uncle Jesse and Aunt Carla, all the horror finally became a thing of the past thankfully. Dax, having been cursed only comes once a month. This time he ventures into Mountain Ink looking for Jesse to start on a tattoo he wanted. Imagine his surprise when he found Racine. This journey to Aurora Falls has really been a great ride. Mountain Ink is a relatively quick read and who doesn't enjoy instant love.

Mountain Ink is the first book that I ever read that has a main character that is a Merman, and it was such a great story. Dax has been cursed to live in the water until he finds his soul mate and Racine is a tattoo artist who had a hard childhood. Dax spends time on land searching for his soulmate and one day he goes to town to get a tattoo and meets Racine and from the very beginning he is drawn to her. Mountain Ink is a quick read and very enjoyable.

I absolutely love Dax and Racine’s story!
I thought that Dax and Racine’s story was the most romantic so far! I could just imagine them together!! They really were made for each other and I was swept up in their romance! I loved this story and hope to enjoy more of Darlene Tallman’s work! I highly recommend this book and this author! It focuses more on Dax’s on ground than as a merman, which was a very nice twist! Definitely worth the read!

Amazing
Short, sweet and I couldn't put this book down. This is a first for me reading about mermen and with Darlene's amazing writing I didn't want their story to end. Dax found his mate in Rac and as their story unfolded my heart broke for her. I'm so happy they found each other and I would love to see more of them in the future.

I've read all of the Mountain Mermaids books, and this one wasn't my favorite. This one featured couples from past books and lots of little tidbits. It didn't waste time on proving there were mermaids, which was fun. But the story fell a little flat.
Well written though, very few errors. A good, quick read with a simple and fun story.

*WARNING* contains adult situations
This was a quaint story. It's well written, but nothing really special about it. It's A story about Insta love between a cursed Viking and a women with a few issues that linger from childhood. There's no conflicts to overcome, no bad guys to worry about, it's just how the two come together.

An amazing story.
What an amazing story. Dax and Racine quickly captured my heart. A unique blend of fantasy and a taste of reality. A hint of a possibility of true love. Another must read by this gifted storyteller.

Quick happy ever after
A quick story about Dax who is one of the cursed mermen and Racine a shy tattoo artist.
I truly liked the characters in this book. Even though it was short we got an epilogue of a year later and got a brief glimpse of what happened to his cousin too.

This book blew my expectations away. I'm not a big reader of PNR but this has caught my attention. Dax and Racine were a couple that I loved to read about. I can't wait to see what's next for this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short story about cursed Vikings who became mermaids and mermen with a need to find their fated mates. Different and unique with enough humor and background story to keep me entertained. Recommend to anyone who wants a quick HEA .

This not the first book by Darlene Tallman that I have read but it certainly is the first time reading about Mermen and surprising I enjoyed it. This was a charming, sweet, and heartfelt journey to go on with Racine and Dax. Great story!
