I'm a Jack, or more accurately, a Tyrolin of all trades.

Broken Dolls, the first in the trilogy, is an award-winning, international #1 bestseller and appeared on Buzzfeed's Top 24 Best SciFi/Fantasy Books of 2015.

I have been in the Top 25 of the Australian Songwriters Association and Top 5 of the Australian Independent Music Awards, was awarded an Australia Day Award for Music in 2014 and for Arts in 2015. I own a performing arts school, teach creative writing and host a podcast called HooPod, which is part of Felicia Day's community.

I love cats. I love every kind of cat. I just want to hug all of them, but I can't hug every cat.

Better than the first book!

Colt Harper: Disparaged Vampire Cat by Tyrolin Puffy is book two in the series. It is full of wit, dry humor, clever dialogue, crazy characters, unique plot, and an all around fun read! It's a zany world with monsters and monster hunters, all kinds of creatures, and all things paranormal. Colt and friends are fugitives and encounter all kinds of things. A real page turner, kept me smiling, and entertained from beginning to end!

*I received a free copy of this book from the author via voracious readers only in exchange for an honest review*
I was slightly worried when I started reading this book because the first one was just so amazing that I though, well this one can’t possibly be just as good, right? WRONG. It may even be a teensie but better. It’s got all the humour and fast paced action of the first book keeping all of my favourite characters, adding a couple more, along with some interesting realms/destinations and of course Sir Tibbles.
I have to say I just loved how Tyrolin added herself into the books in the first one it was more references and shameless advertisement haha but it this one she takes on a more important role which is something I haven’t experienced in a book before. It was like a Stan Lee cameo except in book form and it worked.
I just love her writing style so much it made both books so easy to pick up and read in no time at all. I feel so lucky to have been given the chance to read this book so thank you Tyrolin! Can’t wait for the next one, you tease.

Colt's friends, Jax, the Werewolf, and Lexi, the Leshie, are on the run from the Council. If they are caught, they will face a fate worse than death: They will be forced for all eternity to run backwards as disembodied red legs. Saffy, having just recently discovered that she is half Vampire Cat, wants the Council to rescind her monster status. Unfortunately, for Colt, being trapped in a human body has caused his feelings to become less cat-like and more human. So Colt begins a quest to lead his friends to a safe place to hide out, and to bring down the Council. This book is full of exiting twists and turns that are sometimes scary, sometimes funny, but always captivating. I highly recommend this book.

The second installment of Colt Harper didn't live up to the promise of the first. The plot arc is haphazard and while it has its moments the kinder gentler Colt isn't nearly as interesting. It's short as well, coming in at 155 pages.

One note to the author; even Stephen King couldn't insert himself into a story without eventually dragging it down (Dark Tower series), so it's not a surprise Tyrolin Puxty cannot either. The first time (or two) in the first book rated a chuckle, in this one it comes off as shameless self promotion and not at all amusing.

I rate this book a 3.0, based on the FCP book review standard. Priced at $3.99 on Amazon Kindle, it seems expensive given the content and length.

Complimentary copy received from the author for a honest review.

More of the same madcap, multi-dimensional world of monsters, demons and cats. This time the author herself makes an appearance!

Amusing and deceptively deep story about cats and personal growth.
