Working the graveyard shift at a local shopping mall isn’t as bad as you think, and 29 year old security guard Millie has plenty of hobbies to help her pass the lonely hours each night. Need a hand-knit animal hat? She’s got you covered. But the best part of her late night job is tuning in to hear bad boy radio personality, Doctor Dave, give out unorthodox dating and sex advice on his live call-in show. With her 30th birthday fast approaching, she’s quickly giving up on finding true love for herself. Tonight, however, she’s giving it one more chance before taking extreme measures. Will dialing up the sexy Doctor Dave finally provide the right prescription?
Millie is a night time security guard in a local mall. She loves to knit for animals and listen Doctor Dave, a radio personality who gives advices to men and women on their relationships. She is the youngest after three overprotective, giant, alpha brothers. One cold December night Millie takes on the courage to talk to Doctor Dave on her predictment that she is in her late twenties, single and virgin.
Doctor Dave, David is a six-foot-three, 220 pound man who has numerous super fans and most of them are women. He helps people by solving their relationship dileammas. David himself is single and still did not find his missing someone. When David and Millie talk he finds himself infatuated with her voice and personality. Millie tells him about Mr. Pretzel Creep, who sells pretzels, that he always follows her, wants to talk to her and get in her personal space. David finds himself protective of her and is fast to point out that she leave the job. When talking on air David and Millie talk for prolonged time, forgetting there are other people who are waiting to talk to Doctor Dave. For this David gets in trouble with his producer. David is so intrigued and smitten on Millie. Few photo exchanges and their personal numbers later a man's voice is suddenly on line and the phone hangs up. David rushes to save her.
This is a very short novella story with a cute and strong heroine and a big alpha hero. The story is sweet and humorous and the MC's are so lovey-dovey. It ends with a very satisfying HEA.

Working as a security guard at the mall is where we find our leading lady Millie. The night shift suits her, she can lose herself in her knitting and listen to sexy Dr Dave. The fantasies she had envisioning the two of them together would make you blush.
But Millie has a small problem. She’s nearly thirty and still a Virgin. She can’t seem to find the right guy that she’s attracted to. Well that is until she heard his voice. Dr Dave.
David “Dr Dave” is at a crossroads with life, his radio show giving advice to people on their sex lives. He’s missing something or someone to have in his life. But that’s all about to change when he takes Millies call.
From here on we listen vicariously through the radio as the chemistry between these two burns up the radio waves.
I’m sorry but this book was such a disappointment. The blurb was all kinds of catnip for me and I loved the idea of it.
Unfortunately, this book was so problematic. David was a strange mix of entitled alphahole (calling all his callers baby and sweetheart, immediately feeling entitled to her virginity, asking for her to send him a picture of her breasts so he could tell her what size they were 🤮) and then needy and obsessed with Millie. Millie at times was so insecure/naive but then massively juxtaposed as assertive and schooling men around her. I know this was a novella and I’m all for insta-love novellas where the two MC’s meet and fall in love without seeing each other properly initially (please read Simone Stark’s Written on Your Skin where it’s done to perfection) and all for banana pants crazy plots (I adore Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians). But this book was just so unbelievable on so many fronts that it just fell flat, like the author just threw in all the ingredients without thinking how the cake will taste at the end but because each ingredient sounded exciting they just threw it in. Of course the 28 yo naive virgin just happens to have a condom in the back pocket of her work uniform where she would technically be all alone all night long! And the unnecessary incel Pretzel Guy left a nasty taste in my mouth. You could have created more depth to the story if the author had stayed with the couple and their development rather than this half-arsed “action” sequence that was used instead. And them having sex on a display bed in the mall like 10 minutes after her brothers (who are cops) and loads of cops had appeared and then gone and her boss hadn’t turned up yet, is such rubbish.
David was a big problem for me. He was so possessive instantly: “my Millie” and “my vagina” blah blah blah. He tells her to “save her virginity for him”. He tells her “Sweetheart, you can just quit that job. You’re with me, now”. What the actual fuck??? He is so high handed and it’s presented to us as him caring for her. It’s like feminism and female independence never happened. Should we swallow this as love and care? Run Millie, run! And of course, the pièce de résistance is him telling her he loved her just as they have sex, about 3 hours (max) after they met and saying he is giving up all the women/his radio show/etc so they have a life together.
I don’t know. This book made me mad. But it made me think and it made me have a lot of discussions with lots of friends in Romancelandia so it did good in that sense. Please do read it for yourself and see what you think. I’m now going to have to read a comfort read so I can cleanse my palate.

Oy vey... The Read Me Romance podcast might be convenient, but their story failed me yet again.
I just want a short and sweet novella that brings the elusive warm and fuzzies and isn't ridiculously unrealistic like this one is. Is that too much to ask?
I won't even go into detail on what's happening - virgin makes call to sex doctor/radio celebrity to ask for advice on how to lose her V card and he immediately knows that she's the one, .
I'm all for suspension of disbelief when reading, but that's a whole other level...["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review: Milly works security at the mall she is a virgin and she is planning on calling Doctor Dave a radio host who gives advice she loves his voice . There has been some pretzel creep who has been bothering milly. Milly calls Doctor Dave and explains her situation that she's a virgin has very overprotective brothers .Dave is very intrigued by Milly and likes her and ends up getting her off over the phone. Milly notices something and it was pretzel creep who is a psychopath. Dave goes to get milly she stun guns pretzel creep and the police come. Milly and David get a little comfortable and start fooling around. The epilogue includes David has quit radio and Milly and David are married with a baby on the way very cute story.
I mean... sexy voiced radio personality for the win. Can I also say, that while I loved the male narrator, the female narrator really made Dr. Dave’s voice come through as sultry and over the top sexy? It was random and I loved it lol.
This was a ridiculous insta-love novella. They meet and have sex for the first time in the same night and say I love you to each other. The epilogue is 8 months later and they’re married and she’s 7 months pregnant. Lord.
David Hart Doctor extraordinaire. He is known as Doctor Dave the voice on the radio that brings advice to males and females who need relationship tips and quips. Yet he doesn't have a special someone at home. Millie is a twenty nine year old virgin with three over protective older brothers two on the police force and one on construction. All Alpha males. She also has a job that her family disapprove of. She is a night shift security guard at the local mall. This very cold December day will change the life of both Millie and Doctor Dave. Today the Doctor is focused on Millie and her virgin predicament. But with all their series talk there is some light and not so light flirting which gets Doctor Dave in trouble with his producer. When Millie tells the doc about a guy that constantly asks her out but kinda gives her the creeps the doc get a feeling of jealousy and possessiveness he was not expecting. When their conversation gets personal but needs to be put on hold, I think his producer dropped the call on purpose which sends Doctor Dave into a panic. When he finally gets her cell number he puts his show on hold anf locks himself in the bathroom with a angry producer on the other side. When things start to get hot and steamy things spiral out of control in more than sexual. When a mans voice comes on the line and then hangs up Millies phone the Doctor has left the building and over protective would be boyfriend enters. Remember it is a cold December day. Dave is on a mission, he hops on his motorcycle and races to the mall to save Millie from an unknown intruder. During all this a few things happen 1. Millie hears the word "ladylike" and snaps can you say taser? 2. Doctor Dave crashes his motorcycle into the front of the mall 3. Her brothers the cops show up 4. And this one is the most important Dave and Millie meet face to face, even if he is banged up and surrounded by cops and she just tased a guy. When all is said and done Millie and Dave fulfill a fantasy of hers, and live happily ever after. This book has dirty talk This book has swearing This book has humor This book has jealousy This book has love and commitment
Abby Knox wrote a sexy short for the Read Me Romance podcast, but I read it in ebook. Why? Because I am hopelessly, hopelessly behind on the RMR podcast. Like 30 audiobooks behind. Even though I’ve been listening since episode 1. If you know me, you know I’m just not good at audiobooks, though I keep trying!
This one is super cute and features no actual doctors. Doctor Dave is a love doctor DJ with a late-night radio show! He talks with callers and, in his flirtatious way, helps them solve their love life problems.
Our heroine has a “problem.” She’s almost 30 and still a virgin. When she calls in, Doctor Dave only needs to hear her voice to know he is the man to help. (Did I mention insta-love? No? Well this one is another “love-at-first-see-with-my-ears.”)
It’s Abby Knox, though, so underneath the insta-love is a plot of gold. The heroine works nights as a security guard in the mall, where she always listens to Dave’s show. The very night she calls in is the night a crazy bad man decides to make his move, putting the heroine at risk and causing Dave to rush to her rescue.
It’s a candy novella with a little danger, like pop rocks? Or War Heads? But it’s totally sweet and not sour at all. I loved it. 5 stars for fun, originality, and steam.
I absolutely love Abby Knox’s short and sexy romance reads and “Doctor Dave” has to be my new favorite. David is a growly alpha male, he’s sexy as sin and as the town’s reigning radio personality he’s got it made. Millie is a sweet and sexy in an unassuming way. Mall Security Guard by night, knitter of hats for baby animals by day. She’s a woman on a mission - lose her pesky virginity. Seeking the infamous Doctor Dave’s advice, she calls into his live program and lays herself bare (😉). David cannot resist her sexy innocent voice and falls head over radio waves for her. Running to her rescue (a rescue she ultimately doesn’t need) the two fall hard and fast for one another. Their happily ever after is guaranteed and man it’s a good one. TBR this great read and enjoy. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
I totally fell in love with Abby Knox! The plot was interesting and had me hooked from the very beginning. Matthew Maddux is an awesome narrator. He has the perfect voice! Be prepared to take a cold shower after listening! The characters were well-developed and easily relatable. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and explosive! Abby has a terrific sense of humor as well that had me rolling! I got some interesting stares while driving to work! I enjoyed this one so much that I went and purchased all of her ebooks. Thanks to Read Me Romance for introducing us!
I love and adore Abby Knox, I cannot get enough of her stories! Doctor Dave is no exception. Millie is a security guard, not the most glamorous job but she loves watching over the dark mall after hours. It is quiet and she can listen to the radio with her favorite radio personality on every night, Doctor Dave. Dave loves the security of being behind the mike, giving advice. He has no interest in dating until a very special caller attracts all of his attention. This was a quick read but every bit of it was awesome. Cannot wait for what Ms Knox gives us next!
I first heard this book on a podcast and knew that once I got an ecopy I’d love it. As soon as I started reading this book I didn’t put it down the build up of the two characters and cute conversations between Dr Dave and Millie made my heart melt. It’s beautiful how these two complete strangers fall for each other and how deep they become like they have known each other forever. The ending had had me wanting more, I didn’t want it to end. I received this as an arc to give an honest opinion and I absolutely loved it.
The super sexy alpha male Dr. Dave, is the host of a late night radio show.... about relationships advice.
When Mall Cop Millie calls in one night, things get crazy. Millie grow up with three protective older brothers, so naturally her love life has been nonexistent.
Very quick and steamy read, definitely will have you thinking about over night Security differently.
I listened to the free audio version through the Read Me Romance podcast and read the e-book, which I believe has a bonus epilogue - don't quote me on this though; I've read it a while back and I'm only now catching up on my reviews. *shameful*
It's a sweet, sexy, quick and fun read and I'll definitely be reading more of Abby Knox's work in the future.
You can also check out "Officer Max", which is the story of Millie's brother... Currently on my TBR list.

I listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast. Doctor Dave was super cute and I loved that it had an epilogue. This was one of those quick and dirty stories with fun characters and a little bit of intrigue and humor. I’ll definitely be checking out more Abby Knox.
That was a sweet, sassy and fun read. It was OTT but so so good. Loved how David fwll stupid in lust and love for Millie and wanted to be her herp. But Millie can stand up for herself. These characters were great.... and the epilogue??? Well I think all Moms can relate to fear the The Mom Squad😂😂😂😂. A bit action a bit naughtiness and a sweet HEA...who needs more??!!
