The plan was simple. Seduce husband of the woman who – unbeknown to her – ruined her life five years ago. Film the encounter. Befriend the wife. Infiltrate her life. Become indispensable. Blackmail the husband with the video evidence. Take his money and tell the wife anyway. Destroy this woman from the inside…
But. You know what they say about the best laid plans. Ellen Montgomery has no idea what – or who – she’s dealing with. Now she’s in way over her head. She’s trapped in a vicious web of lies, secrets and evil. And there’s no way out.
The actual premise of this book sounded good but how it was executed was a lacklustre. It felt monotonous and anticlimactic except the ending. Also, there is one twist in this book that I really appreciate. It wasn’t crazy or mind- boggling but finally something different even it was already late for my liking.
Grammatical errors override the well written plot. PS: I would love to be a proofreader for Kindle!
This book was interesting and intriguing and I enjoyed it. However, there were several grammatical errors that caught my attention. I'm not sure if it was the author ,whoever typed it for print, or just plain oversight. This is the first book I've read on Kindle with that many errors. That will not stop me from reading her other books though.
If you like domestic noir -this fast-paced novel will surprise you. This my first time read of this author and she doesn’t disappoint. The main characters have a lot of depth and are alike as they are different, something the author knows well how to use to keep you riveted.
This was a cool idea, but messy execution. Lots of spelling and grammatical errors, too much use of italics... and a bit choppy. Definitely needed better editing, and it could have been GOOD.
However, a fast and entertaining read (trying to figure out what was happening before it was over in 200ish pages)
Not very engaging, flat storyline, overall boring. I couldn’t connect to any of the characters. And please, get a good editor... so many typos and plot holes...
Just finished this book and the story was just so-so. The kindle version had so many grammatical errors, it was painful to read. There were as many as 3 on some pages alone.
