Sinful Palace

Rate this book
Take a peek behind the curtains at the wild, sinful lives of America’s elite and uncover their scandalous secrets, twisted lies and wicked games…

I’m his obsession. His property. His future wife. He’ll never let me go.

Taken captive and trapped in a gilded cage, I’m forced to be Logan Thorne’s fiancée. Obedient, weak, subservient. The perfect little pet.

But I’m not like that. Not anymore. No matter what he does to break me down, no matter how much he reminds me of the debt I owe him, I know I have to get away. I can’t live by these rules anymore. Can’t let myself believe I actually deserve this pain.

I have to escape this ruthless man, even if I’ve started to want the dirty, twisted things he does to me. Even if I can feel myself starting to fall for him, ever so slowly…

He might have stolen me, but I won’t let him steal my heart.

Messed up doesn’t even begin to cover it. Sinful Palace is hot, corrupt, and a little scary. No clue who to trust or who to fear in this world.

Compared to the first book this one is rather tame. We are given more clues to the corrupt Order and it’s leader, Q. We get some more info on Logan/Willow/Chloe situation and I’m not shocked by the revelations, but at the same time I was. All in all this was a great second book, and I can’t wait until the third. I have a feeling the conclusion of this series will be epic.

I feel like this doesn’t need to be said, because it’s a captive romance, but just in case someone is reading “safe” captive romance 😂

It’s been a couple of days since i read this series and i’m not sure how to describe my feelings for this series. I didn’t know how to break my review into three parts for each book so here’s just an enormous rant of how I felt for all the three books combined.

disclaimer: the rant contains spoilers and has a lot of typos.

After I read the prequel I was pumped and excited to find out further about the story. The couple had went from being best friends in the past to hating each other in the present so that made me curious to know more about their relationship. Plus the added drama of both of their families being rivals and being powerful was just the cherry on top of the cake. So with that thought I purchased the first book and I did like it initially.

I really liked the whole concept of secret society and how the main couple are invited to it. That was definitely something different to read about and tbh it made me really happy to finally read a book which was not heavily based on the couple.

But with that being said, the first book took a long time for the story to progress I mean there were barely any scenes with the couple together and the time they ended up actually having a proper conversation together was half way through the first book.

The main guy also does a lot of cruel things to the main girl which really did not make much sense to me and I didn’t think they were justifiable. The heroine is sold to the main guy’s family and the way he behaves with her is insane. People on here call it dark but I call it psychopath. He makes her stay in the basement of his house and he has this weird bdsm vibes to it (btw his parents know how he is treating her and they are OKAY with it). He makes her obey him and threatens her of killing her little brother. He later reveals why he hates her so much and she seems to be clueless about it. (miscommunications plot)

Anyways the story progresses and the heroine is invited into the secret society and in there she reveals her deepest darkest secret that she believes her mother who was the vice president of the country may be involved in killing the president to become the president. This secret later gets revealed on television of an interview of her mother and her. I mean how insane is that? Her mother is the freakin present of the country and such accusations are being thrown at her live?!!

Anyways back to the main couple. The heroine tries to escape the hero’s house and fails and for that the hero as a punishment tells her that he will attach a collar on her neck and will make her crawl on her hands in the hallway of his house so the maids can watch. 🤢 Thankfully he doesn’t actually carry out that punishment but just the thought of that is disgusting.

Along with the insane drama going on with the main couple there is an ongoing drama in the secret society which was literally the only thing which made me want to read further. The main couple really made me want to DNF this book but the whole secret society suspense really bothered me so without much of a choice I had to purchase the series.

I skipped the whole 3rd book and went to the ending to know what happens and gosh it was so NOT worth it.

Honestly this whole series made me so mad and angry. I loathed the couple, they had no chemistry, nothing made me want to ship them. Matter of fact with the way the hero treated the girl I wished she would have abandoned him and found someone else deserving. The hero had no redeeming qualities in him and his actions weren’t justified. He was heartless (not at all in a good way) and his behavior were inhuman. The only aspect of the book that got me hooked was the secret society concept and that as well was utterly disappointing. I expected something more like the illuminati but this was just some elite group playing mind games and plotting against each other. Overall this series was just nasty.

This was smashing!
I couldn't wait to read the Sinful Palace after the cliffy ending in Ruthless Prince. For those who are wondering - No Willow didn't die after all.....
What?! Did I spoil it for you? Dun.. Dun... Count on your fingers, how many stories you've read where the heroine actually dies in a cliffhanger?!

OK then...since we've sorted that out, back to the review!
OMFG! I freaking loved it! As many of you have guessed, Sinful Palace is a reference for Wonderland. After the fire in the Thorne's house, created as a distraction so Willow could take off, the Thorne's (and Willow) are temporarily living in Wonderland and as the name suggests, it is exactly that!
The story continues and it is better than before.
Logan continues to torment Willow, but somewhere along they start to get closer. His ice starts to thaw and what we get is a sweet man who has been hurting all over because of the actions of few people. Somewhere along the story, he and Willow form a pact to help each other heal. Together, they investigate the order and reveal secrets that at best, could get them killed.
This book again ends with a cliffhanger. Saying any more would be giving the plot away, so I'm stopping right here.

But I promise to those who plan on reading this - You're going to love this book (and Logan)!

2.5 stars I had a problem with how Willow warmed up so easily. She pushed aside how terribly she was treated and let Logan off the hook way to easily. I would have thought her anger for Logan would have at least paralleled that of how she felt toward her father. It didn’t. This book was way to long. I felt there was a lot of extra dialogue added in order to make the book longer and stretch this to a trilogy. In my opinion, this story could have been a duet. I have not decided whether I will read the next book.

I cannot go any further I got about 35% in to Book Two. I think I gave it the good old college try. I love a good dark book with the best of them, but this one is just painful for me to continue to read and it has nothing to do with how dark it is.

The first book really had potential. I enjoyed reading it and was looking forward to the second book. Especially the relationship between our main couple. However I'm halfway into this book and I just...can't anymore. Don't read if you aren't ready to hear me rant...

Things just started to get really confusing and rushed. My main issue was that I felt that Willow forgave too easily. That she gave in even when she repeatedly told herself that she would not. I get that she changed her mind when she found out he has some feelings for her but even still... I wanted more angst.
Why did she give in so easily? He treated her terribly. I was rooting for her the whole of book 1. Even when she made that naive mistake in the end of book 1. It was alright. A learning experience. I had hoped she would fight back in book 2. That she would out smart Logan and leave him, so he would grovel back and beg for forgiveness.

I didn't feel any chemistry between them. I felt more tension in the first book, which I actually liked, and I know how these types how books play out. I knew she'd forgive him eventually. That one scene where they put aside their issues and work together? What a load of BS honestly. I couldnt stand her from this point. Like how can you just work together like he didn't abuse and humiliate you? I really wanted her to outsmart him. She had all these ideas when she was talking to him but she couldn't come up with a plan? I actually liked the part where she said she'd keep trying until she won. It showed her backbone. But its like all of that went to shit now cause they have an agreement. It was so out of character for both of them. How did he change his mind when all he could thing about was torturing until she breaks.
Not to mention she stayed mad at her dad who sold her but gave in so easily to the guy who was abusing her.

I did enjoy the mystery about the order. That was interesting and really had me guessing what would happen next.

Also the relationship between Willow and her mom. I wanted to see how that will play out. But I'm too mad at the main couple so...

Earlier I mentioned that this book had potential. I believed that. But sadly I think that things were being rushed. The author needed them to start liking each other and didn't know how to transition hate to love. So they put this agreement in and went with it. I have read books where the author knows how her readers feel and know how to give the heroine a satisfying victory. And this book just pissed me off.

Sorry about all this rant. I really needed to get it off my chest.
If you liked it, good for you.
As for me, I won't be finishing this book or the third one.

Edge of your seat suspenseful read!!!

This is the second book in Stella’s Ruthless Rulers series, this is NOT a standalone. To get the full experience, be sure to read the first book (Ruthless Prince). In this installment, I would like to say there wasn’t any triggers - there was some sexy scenes but this one was more suspense as the story unfolds.
Stella picks us up right where she left us with Ruthless Prince. Willow is running to meet up with an informant trying to get more info. She knows that she can’t getaway from Logan and she planned to come back. But when things backfire for her, Logan finds her in time to save her...I will let that sink in for a minute. The man that Willow was sold to saved her. Logan doesn’t know how to handle his guilt for having true feeling for Willow, considering what she did to his sister. But as the story progresses, Willow and Logan actually form an (shaky) alliance which leads them to start digging into the Order. This stirs trouble, a ton of trouble. Willow experiences a great loss at one point and it opens not only her eyes but Logan’s as well. Then the whole truth of what really happened that fateful night of the accident involving Willow and Chloe (Logan’s sister) is uncovered - this causes Logan to feel overbearing guilt towards how he had treated Willow, but he is more determined to protect her with everything he has and come to terms that he does love her. All the while Willow is trying to handle her attraction to Logan and wonder if her growing feelings for him are real or just a Stockholm syndrome effect. While they work together and uncover more layers of the Order, they continue to put themselves in more danger which leads Willow to put trust in the wrong person. The one she grew up around, she finds out too late, is the last person she should have ever trusted. Now she is in even deeper danger and Logan may not be able to save her.

Stella killed me with the suspense in this book! I loved how she has had me guessing since the beginning, when I think my suspicions are right about someone she adds another layer and throws me off track. The compiling conspiracies are insane and Stella continues to impress me with how she is building this story - I am dying for Broken Princess now. I gotta see if Logan and Willow get out of all of this craziness

I was enjoying this book until it annoyed the fucking hell out of me.
Reading Willow’s reaction about waking up in the glass box with holes, I was thinking WTF. She suddenly had a fear of enclosed spaces but I was thinking that’s ridiculous because in book 1 she escaped from a coffin and had no trouble getting into it. She didn’t panic and got out of it no problems at all.
I hate Willow, she is annoying, naive, stupid, reckless and so so gullible. She believes everyone is telling her the truth, even complete strangers from the internet. When Willow and Logan were having that conservation where they were honest with each other I was rolling my eyes and thinking how Willow is now so intelligent as she was coming up with all these fantastic ideas OUT OF NOWHERE......that scene was unbelievable to me and so far fetched. Her mother was right, she is nothing but trouble. I find that she is always putting her brother in danger and can’t keep her mouth shut. I absolutely hate her.

I started skimming a lot of this book after that just to finish it. I think I know who Q is....it’s so obvious to me and I’m nearly 100% certain I’m right.
I’m going to read book 3 to see if I am but I know i will be skimming that book too. I’m NOT enjoying this series anymore, I find it boring and so predictable.

I think I spent the entire first half of the book wishing the heroine escapes from the mad man hero.

Anyway somewhere in the middle of the book, he does suddenly improve.
I say suddenly because it just happens overnight. There was no indication he would, he just declares sth and changes.

The suddenness of the hero's transformation makes it seem unnatural and forced.

Around the time the hero's character changes, the book stops focusing on the couple's relationship entirely and shifts into the whole conspiracy surrounding the plot.

Since there's hardly any focus on the couple's relationship in the second half, it feels like the side story and the conspiracy the main one.

Also although the conspiracy is interesting, it feels exhausting to read about because I thought it was a romance book not a mystery/ investigation book.

So I was basically waiting for the romance to show up in the second half, you know where they talk deeply and grow deeper in love. Spoiler, it never did.

Willow has been through a living hell. Paying a high price for what she did to Chloe. She can't find it in her to forgive her father. Her mother has no time for her and acts like she hates her. She can't see or talk to her brother. And Logan can't seem to forgive Willow for what she did. So many twists and turns when pieces of information start coming out and everything is being questioned. And how do Logan and Willow find a way to co-exist when they don't even like each other? But what about the chemistry between them that seems to explode? Just about the time Stella Hart lulled me into thinking I knew who was wielding all the power and calling all the shots …. SURPRISE!!! … another twist that left me with a cliffhanger. I can't wait for "Broken Princess" to come out and see where she takes us next.

The calm before the storm 💋

❗️Warning: Some scenes may be triggering❗️

Trusted Palace is the second book in the trilogy Ruthless Rulers. I have to say I was a little disheartened by the love story between Logan and Willow after the first book (see previous post). It was definitely a lot to take in, however I am so happy I continued this trilogy.

Yes, there is still hope for Logan and Willow’s love story!!! ✨ I think I have a love and hate relationship with this writer; she put me through a whirlwind of emotions yet there’s something addictive about her books. I think its the continuous mystery and even after secrets are unravelled, you’re still left guessing.

This is the second book in the dark and twisty series. You must read book one, Ruthless Prince first, to obtain the full story so far and prepare for another cliffhanger and wait for the conclusion in the final book. The intensity certainly increases as Logan and Willow's relationship continues to evolve and be tested. You will definitely be kept on the edge of your seat with this book's complex we b of secrets, lies, drama, emotions, suspense, mystery and heat. This is my independent, impartial review.

OMG just how does the author keep this all straight in her head and get in down in writing??? I keep thinking I know who or what and then it all changes again! Honestly I don’t know how Stella keeps in all going over several books? I can’t really say what’s going on because for one I don’t want to spoil it for anyone and for two .... I haven’t a bloody clue myself? I do know that I cannot wait for the next book and ‘hopefully’ it will all become clear 🤔🤞 excellent read though 😁

Wow! I stayed up all night to read this book as I had to read it the second, I got my hands on it and I was not disappointed! This is a series that needs to be read in order, and this is book two of the series. It’s full of action, drama, deceit, intrigue, twists and turns as well as steamy scenes. Loving this series, the plot is great, and the characters are wonderful. The only issue I have is I have to now wait for the next book to be released and I’m wanting to read it right now!

Me reading this entire book.

It literally took one page for this man to say hm... I think I like her to much to continue to torture her, even though 2 pages before he enjoyably ?

I finished out a curiosity, but I'm done with this overall weak herione. Whatever happens to her next,

Most stupid and unrealistic book I have ever read!

She leaves with her mother’s agent because Logan has said she can never leave him, yet she repeatedly had sex with him because she’s “falling for him”.

Finally found out what happened with Chloe and the night of the accident and it was completely unrealistic. You’re mother would not pump you full of drugs to make you forget. No chance.

Only continuing to read to find out who Q is, although I think the author is making it up as she goes along.

Being fairly new to Stella’s darker series, I’m always surprised by how well-crafted she spins a tale that draws the reader into a darkly decadent world. The Ruthless Rulers series accomplishes this and more. With politics, secret societies, arranged marriage and murder what more could the lover of a darker romance ask for? I am looking forward to seeing where the web of scandal and deceit takes Willow and Logan as it further unravels in the upcoming final book of the series.

Willow and Logan’s continued story with plot twists galore
Stella continues with the story of Willow and Logan that will have you staying up late into the night because you will not want to put this book down. Logan surprises himself when he saves Willow at the beginning of the story, but does his protectiveness to keep Willow safe ruin their chance at happiness? You have to read to find out and will be stunned by the cliffhanger ending! Can’t wait for Book 3 to come out!

“Wanting her. Craving her. Needing her. It drove me insane, filling me with white-hot rage that burned through my veins like wildfire.”

“description”/

If you read my review of Ruthless Prince, you know just how enamored I was with this series....I COULD NOT WAIT to get my hands on this book. This series had me from page one, the entire premise revolving around a secret society and D.C politics was absolutely intriguing. Add in a steamy hot yet completely dysfunctional “romance”, well I hung on every last word.....and that cliffy we were left on, I NEEDED to know wth was going to happen.
“description”/

In so many ways, Sinful Palace continued its perfectly paced path to even more addictive storyline....like last time I simply couldn’t get enough. However, unlike the last one it also fell short in some ways that really disappointed me. Don’t get the wrong idea, I binge-read this & didn’t mind the lack of sleep because of it.....it was still a PHENOMENALLY suspenseful and exciting read. But the stupid choices our heroine consistently makes paired with the absolute predictability of the big twists & OMG events towards the end, that’s what kept this from snagging that final star it’s predecessor earned easily.

Book Facts:
POV: Dual
About: The 2nd installment in the Ruthless Rulers trilogy, it MUST BE read after Ruthless Prince. Picking up where book 1 leaves us, Willow must navigate life as Logan’s fiancé while also finding a way to clear her moms name. But the more she uncovers, the more she is in danger with the very group she thought would provide her protection. When the truth is finally revealed about that one defining night, they will be left with far more questions than answered.....and with buried feelings come to the surface, Logan & Willow will have to even more to deal with than the danger they face. Who is Q? Who can Willow trust? And can she live in a world where being with Logan & being completely safe exists?
Safe Read? Yes, no cheating/no triggers
HEA/HFN/Cliffy: Ends with cliffy, with it wrapping up with Broken Princess in late February.

Overall Plot/Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Willow: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Logan: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Emotional Connection: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Suspense Meter: 👀👀👀👀

Sex Scenes: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Dirty Talk: 🔥🔥
Chemistry: 🔥🔥🔥

Final Thoughts:
Positives: Suspenseful/excitement of plot, Logan, the overall story premise, the perfect pace, Logan’s mom.
Negatives: Lack of “romance”, predictability of “big” moments. Willow’s stupidity in regards to Logan, Willow’s gullibility.
Writing: I like a strong heroine, but I LOVE a smart one. The smart ones do whatever it takes, act however needed, etc to survive or get what they want. The problem w Willow is she THINKS she's smart, but she keeps getting herself in these spots. Willow’s stupidity is the reasoning for so many “come tf on” moments.....it got rather annoying. I felt this was one of the places the writing lacked but almost on purpose.....Willow’s weaknesses is what ALWAYS leads to the big cliffy so far in both books.
“description”/

I was a little sad that there wasn’t a lot of highlight worthy content....this isn’t to say the author can’t write one hell of a story because she most certainly has, it’s just there wasn’t really anything that made me pause to truly recognize the weight of the words. Along with that, I felt it got a little heavy on the plot line of the mystery & scandal side of the story and in turn neglected the romance between these two. It was honestly the least romance-related romance I’ve read in a while which was okay....but for those that NEED that important factor, this is likely to frustrate you with how many missed opportunities & wasted space.

And despite the ending being so predictable, up until that point she wrote something so incredibly suspenseful & exciting. Even knowing what was going to happen didn’t take a ton away from the heart attack-inducing feelings I felt throughout. And let’s face it, any author who can write a romance but skimp on the romance yet still keep missing undivided attention has a true gift.

Verdict: It’s likely if you are reading this review you’ve read book 1.....I can say with 100% certainty that this is a satisfying read. You will get some answers that you’ve desperately needed from last book while being left with the overwhelming need for answers to all new mysteries. I know I definitely can’t wait for book 3 to see exactly what plans Stella has for these two & if they will get their HEA despite every obstacle standing in their way. One thing is a definite, Logan is going to be out for blood....I’m here for all of it!
“description”/

“I loved everything he did to my body, loved it so much, but I couldn’t afford to start falling in love with him. Not now. Not ever. Too bad a tiny, fractious piece of me was whispering in the back of my mind, telling me it had already started….”

First daughter Willow Rhoades longs for freedom. Ever since the handsome Logan Thorne took Willow captive, she's been plotting her escape. Willow likes to win but but in a world full of intrigue, betrayal and murder, will Willow even survive, never mind escape? Note: this story ends on a cliffhanger.

Sinful Palace is a dark, suspenseful and steamy story that you won't be able to put down. I can't wait to find out what happens next in Broken Princess, Book 2 of the Ruthless Rulers series.

As every mystery spirals out one by one, Willow comes out clean in front of Logan. But the real person who's behind everything is someone close to the couple. This book was a page turned and kept me at the tip of the seat until, I finished the book. From a certain point I had my doubt for the villian of the story, Q, now eagerly waiting to know whether the person who is guessed is the real Q.

Absolutely loved

I loved this entire book but you have to read book one in the series so you can understand the storyline. So much happens in this second book but OMG that ending will have you hanging to see how the story will finish in book 3. We learn more about the order in this second book we still don't really get any answers. I couldn't read this book fast enough and I can't wait to dig into book 3.

Book 2 in this series keeps taking you further down the rabbit hole to a crazy land of secrets and lies. Willow and Logan come to an understanding of sorts when truths are uncovered by as they delve deeper into the order things aren't quite what they seem. I'm loving this series so many twists it messed with your head, but in a good way. Can't wait for the next book.

Wow! Talk about plot twists! Logan & Willow's story continues in this exciting, sexy ride. I haven't been the biggest fan of the arrogant, controlling Logan. Luckily, I'm slowly warming up to him. Willow is just a pawn in a very destructive conspiracy. I'm racking my head trying to figure out who the real bad guy is! Great plot twists and turns, and can't wait for the next book!

This is the second book in the series, and I do recommend reading them in order. Willow and Logan’s story continues with lots of twists and turns. Plenty of drama and steam with great characters and intense chemistry. Willow and Logan are now working together but can they trust each other? Fast-paced intense and steamy. I loved it!

This is the 2nd past of this intriguing story and is a continuation of Logan and Willow’s dark tale. This novel end with another surprise twist for the cliff-hanger, and I cannot wait for the 3rd book.

Interesting read

I believe when you are an avid reader of different genres, you become pretty good at predicting plots. This was an amazing read. It is kinda dark, but in this one you see the romance begin to develop. I’m not sure this could have been done in one book, but I am truly waiting with bated breath to rest the final book. Definitely would recommend.
