John Milton is back in the fourth omnibus edition in the million-selling series.
This digital box set contains the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth thrillers:
Sleepers: When a Russian defector is assassinated in a sleepy English seaside town, Group Fifteen agents John Milton and Michael Pope find themselves in a rush to uncover the culprits and bring them to justice.
Twelve Days: John Milton hasn't seen Elijah Warriner for three years. The last time they met, Milton's efforts to keep the boy safe didn't go exactly to plan. Now Elijah is a promising boxer, preparing for the bout that will take him to the big time. Milton decides that he will spend the week before Christmas in London so that he can watch the fight.
Bright Lights: John Milton has done some bad things in his life. Very bad things. Now he’s looking for ways to make amends. But trouble always seems to be looking for him. Heading from San Francisco to Las Vegas, Milton’s solo road trip takes an unexpected turn when he picks up Jessica Russo, a young woman in distress at the side of the road.
Mark Dawson was born in Lowestoft and grew up in Manchester and Chicago. He has worked as a lawyer and currently works in the London film industry. His first books, "The Art of Falling Apart" and "Subpoena Colada" have been published in multiple languages.
He is currently writing two series. Soho Noir is set in the West End of London between 1940 and 1970. The first book in the series, "The Black Mile", deals with the (real life but little known) serial killer who operated in the area during the Blitz. "The Imposter" traces the journey of a criminal family (think The Sopranos in austerity London and you'd be on the right track).
The John Milton series features a disgruntled special agent who aims to help people to make amends for the terrible things that he has done. Mark, as a child of the 80s, will freely admit that he watched a lot of The Equalizer in his youth.
As always a premiere story told by one of the world's most creative talents.
Moves fast, no loose ends, every detail attended to. Multiple plot lines that do not fail you and seem rationale and realistic. Characters are carefullydrawn and are easily visualized by the reader. Milton shifts, grows and continues to deal with his shortcomings just like we all have to. Do not expect to get your sleep when reading this story.
I’m exhausted!!! Mark Dawson’s novels including Beatrix and Isabella Rose, and The John Milton series have been so intense, so riveting, that I’m unable to stop reading. Yes ,I’m exhausted it in a good way. Thank you Mark . Please keep writing. During these times with Covid 19, reading has become part of our daily necessities. Stay well and stay safe. Dr C. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Mark Dawson has a talent for mystery, intrigue, and vigilante justice that is quite enjoyable to read. Descriptive words bring the story to life visually, enhancing one's enjoyment. There is violence; expected given the subject matter. Highly recommend this series.
The Milton series just keeps going from strength to strength. Marks style keeps me turning the pages constantly when I should be doing other things.....such as sleeping. As I read it’s almost like a movie playing in my mind... Thank you Mark and keep up the great work
Well I loved the last 2 stories, the first one Sleepers literally put me to sleep. Definitely the last 2 were at a 5 star level or I would not have given 4 stars for his series. I am excited to get the next in this series. If you start reading this and sleepers sucks just skip over it the next two our well worth it.
As usual the author hits the spot right from the start three great stories about justice and John Milton's own struggles losing friends is not easy and leaving friends is just as hard but John is on his own mission, can he ever be satisfied that he has done enough, not when the injustice is rife. I highly recommend this series
Brilliant yet another set of books that is unputdownable. Have spent the last 4 days engrossed in these books. Propped up while cooking and clearing up to get to the end. Off to get the next set.
I really love the character of Milton and the way he handles certain situations. He still battles against the bottle but he is strong. Highly recommend this series which you won't be able to put down.
I generally enjoyed thinking Milton series of books. Always good when younger you know the character. I'd call John Milton a knight in tarnished armour . Onto the next in the series !
