I was utterly shocked when finishing this book. Here I was, hoping for a sweet slice of life father-daughter story, and what I found was the previous 3 books was just a prologue. I'm terribly dissapointed and won't consider continuing this series for now.

Even though I took a break from reading this series, I remember the main points from the previous books. In other words, the story is not forgetful!
Anyway, I don’t know why it took me so long to actually read the fourth installment. So far, this installment is my favorite because we have the two dealing with the feelings for one another; also, we are starting to learn more about Latina.
While I think that Dale and Latina’s relationship is wrong, this is a fictional book so I have overlooked that part. In the grand scheme of things, Kenneth and Rita were more like her guardians than Dale. Because I have that mindset, I’m not bothered too much by the idea of their “father/daughter” relationship since I don’t see Dale as her adoptive father.
I hope the fifth book talks more about Latina’s demon background because I’m getting curious with the little tidbits that are sprinkled throughout this book.
I have read several online reviews from several websites which were negative. Most could not understand the transition from guardian to lover. From the very beginning in book 1, I immediately felt Dale and Latina's relationship was beyond that of a father and daughter. I felt with their first glance into each other's eyes they were imprinted on each of their hearts. Latina never saw Dale as her father, and Dale's love for Latina far outreached that of an adoptive father. Latina always expressed her love for Dale even though he didn't really understand her feelings. Also, Latina is a devil and how she thinks, grows and feels has always been different from that of a human child. I love that book 4 brought them together as a couple!
So much happened in this book, and it makes me so happy! I really like how Latina and Dale's relationship is developing. Dale's reluctance and eventual acceptance was well developed. This book was so exciting to read that I just couldn't put it down.
I like this series premise and the way it progresses instead of staying stagnant which is nice, but at times it's hard to tell where the story is. You have transitions that come out of nowhere so it seems to catch me off guard. Regardless I still love Latina and the story so its worth a read
