Mary Anne, a native of Mercedes, Texas, has spent most of her life in Georgia. Her admiration for mystery authors like Agatha Christie, Anne Perry, Caroline Graham, and Elizabeth Peters led her to finally heed the voices in her head and pen her own series of traditional mysteries featuring Detective Charlie McClung.
Mary Anne feels life should be lived to its fullest whether you’re 10 or 100. She's always up for a ride on a shopping cart and dances with youthful exuberance. The main female protagonist in the Charlie McClung Mysteries is a vivid reflection of the author's vibrant spirit.
Mary Anne and her husband, along with their ill-tempered tuxedo cat Gertrude, call Canton, GA home. She believes in the importance of community involvement and volunteers at local food pantries and serves as the community liaison for her local library.
This is a phenomenal book with a lot of twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages. I love how Charlie and Marian are so in love and have a strong relationship and bond that no matter what they go through, they are always there for each other. The characters in this book are multidimensional, and it was wonderful figuring out the reasons they do what they do. I had my suspicions on who may have been the murderer, but I didn't know who it was until the culprit was revealed. M. A. Edwards really knows how to write a story that captivates the reader from beginning to end. How Deep is the Darkness is a must read, and I highly recommend this book!
It seems the darkness is a better place for a mysterious murder to take place. Would the town really believe the Chief's wife be the killer? As events turn and murders happen the list grows more complex and the time is ticking to catch this unsuspecting Brilliant killer.
I love reading Ms. Edwards mysteries. They are clean mysterious who done its. These books prove you don't have to have erotic scene in every chapter to make a Great Read. It is so Refreshing to be able to read a great mystery without everything else taking from the story. Once again I didn't know for sure until the end. Thank you Mary Anne, can't wait for the next.
How did Myron Wagstaff due??? Unlike Dewie, Cheatem, and Howe, Schnarff, Mowinckel, and Tipper are real names you know!!! I really enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
This is a fantastic Mystery. My favorite in this series so far. There are tons of suspects plus everyone's favorite couple in the center of it all. I highly recommend this series. This can be read as a standalone but i recommend the entire series. There is a heart in the middle of these mysteries that makes them very special.
Bullies can really hurt people , not just physically . Some torments cannot be forgotten . Myron, the HO president hated Marian because he couldn't rile her. Others he blackmailed . The history is told here . Fairley well written , quite a few typos .
Love those soaks in hot Epsom water 😊 I might even take one now!!! Even though Charlotte was his mother… He did respect Marian. I enjoyed this story and highly recommend the book.
