What a freaking ride we are on with this series. We pick up where we left off with Sadie at the mercy of Luke. He’s losing it and fast, he wants her back and will do anything to get what he wants. Troy won’t let that happen, he will protect her at all costs, but will he get to her in time? So much uncertainty, so many obstacles, Luke being the biggest one. Luke’s dangerous and when he’s like this there’s no reasoning with him. These two have a bumpy road ahead of them and all they have to do is stick together. Their friends are the best and Troy’s mom, I love her to pieces. I liked that we got to see Sadie’s parents and their interaction with their daughter a little snippet into her life. Sadie is worried about her family and friends with Luke in the loose anything can happen. What happens when someone comes up missing and the only way to get them back is to do the one thing you’d never do again? Would you do it to save a life? Great read, I received a copy of this book.
Hard rebuilding, but good romance 4.5 The book begins with a lot of action and then addresses the necessary rebuilding of the victim after an attack, or the fear of being a victim again. The atmosphere is a little heavy and it's a little hard because we feel the anxiety that Sadie suffers after her trauma, but at the same time, we also feel the strength of her entourage and Sadie who takes her life back, accepting a little more Troy who continues to teach her to defend herself, their relationship having been undermined by Luke's attack. The story is well written, with several twists, sometimes unpredictable and an end on a cliffhanger once again very well placed. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
In book two we find out what happens when Luke finds Sadie at her house and tries to kidnap her, which is where book one left off. All of her friends gather afterwards to take her mind off her ordeal and she throws herself into her training with Troy to vent her anger and fear. When Luke attacks Troy he is finally arrested and everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, the saga is not over yet. Troy and Sadie still have more challenges to face, will Luke win in the end?
I was given a copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
This well-written addition has an entertaining and engaging storyline with unsettled feelings, violence, danger, family drama and short tempers, emotions pushing and pulling and steadfast friends. Will the threat be resolved? or will it escalate? There's a bumpy and twisted road to recovery and a possible HEA. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I need to read the next volume to see what happens. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Same as the first book. Too much snickering and giggling. Female mc being ridiculous, all the other characters being ridiculous. Spicy scene dialog sucks. Kinda regret buying this book and the third, but my ocd won’t let me not finish the series. For the last 50% of the book i just read the dialog and for the last 15% i just read every few phrases just so i could get to the end. And no surprise i didn’t miss anything.
But the second book seemed much more juvenile. The female MC’s reactions don’t come across as trying to protect those around her, but rather like she is a stubborn child. I began lacking sympathy for her, unfortunately.
Great plot. Wonderful cast of characters. Just enough mystery, humor and coupling! The only slip I found is with Troy. In one book he was allergic to seafood. In book three he went to a seafood restaurant and had shrimp.
Good book, enjoyed the story and the characters, but it didn't need to be 3 books. Will think if I will finish and come back. Not a fan of hanging, when it didn't have to be...
Inconsistencies drove me crazy. Plus if your going to write about a city/location you need to know what your talking about. I usually love Lexy's writing but was disappointed with this series.
