Finding Love #2

The Longest Wait

Rate this book
Life for Sofia Winton was what she considered perfect.

She had friends she loved, an amazing career, and enough flirting in her life to make someone blush. She had no need for a boyfriend, because who honestly had the time for that headache? She kept everything casual when it came to men, as in, get out of my life the next day casual. Sofia learned early on relationships weren’t worth it. Because of this, under no circumstances, could she forgive Alex Copeland, who also happened to her best friend’s older brother.

He was nothing but bad news.

All her fun and games came to a screeching halt when Alex, the man who taught her the valuable lesson to never fall in love moved to her city. The nerve of him. As usual whenever they saw each other, it was nothing but a fight. He was impossible to get along with, despite how much everyone else adored him.

While their friends loved the comedy act between Sofia and Alex, it was a tiring verbal war between them. Ever since Sofia was burned by him ten years earlier, she tried to avoid him at all costs. However, he was determined to not let that happen.

One night out, after all of their friends left, they called a truce and had the best night of their lives together. Alex wanted more from her, but she wasn’t sure she could let go of the past. A past none of their friends knew about.

Could Alex convince her to move on and start a future, together with him?

As always: girl has been in love with the guy for years and he doesn't did anithing because he was much older then her . One day he change his mind and take her virginity (he didn't know she was a virgin and becuse of that he treats her like desposable garbage and in the other week starts dating someone else). Here is his excuse: "I dated someone else because I thought I would spend the rest of the summer chasing after you.”(YEP, THIS BULLSHIT EXISTS). Of course, he became a manwhore and she don't remain celibate (one star because of that) but she never compromised with anyone after that because of someone who treated her like shit and of course she jumps into his bed after 10 years without even an excuse on his part. Honestly just the same book as thousands of others just with a different cover. It remains a mystery for me to find out why the authors persist with this shit.

The Longest Wait is book two in the Finding Love series by Erin Lynne. I thought the story was good, but there are so many editing errors in this book that it really wrecked the show for me. I wasn’t a huge fan of the heroine - Sofia Winton. She was just too cynical and hard. It would have been nice to see her be a little more vulnerable more often. I adored the hero - Alex Copeland. I enjoy the “sister’s big brother” trope. It brings in complexity and tension in more than one relationship. There are a number of steamy sex scenes and some rough language in it. Overall it is a good story but in desperate need of proofreading. When I pay for a book, I expect to get a quality product for my money. That just didn’t happen here.

The Longest Wait written by Erin Lynne was a good read. The banter between Sofia and Alex was brutal, yet fun. The story flowed well and the other friends in this book were a great addition. It is the second book in the series and we got a taste of these 2 in book 1, however it is not necessary to read that one first. The only hang up I had was the way Alex treated Sofia after he took her virginity. I almost put it down and walked away, glad I stuck with it because I ended up enjoying it!

The Longest Wait is a wonderful best friends brother read. I loved this one. Sofia is just fabulous. I love how her filter works. Alex is lost and trying to figure out life. I love Alex's bond with his sister Lucy. Sofia and Alex have this love hate dynamic going on and as they story of their past unfolds you will get all your questions answered. I love their banter and chemistry. This makes me want to see each member of this group of friends find their love. I loved ever moment of this one.

Just finished reading The Longest Wait, it was enjoyable. The group of friends in the book brings out a lot of different personalities and makes it interesting while still giving it a “real” feel. I love the banter between characters but I do wish there was more build up between Alex and Sofia. Overall still interesting and worth the read!

Finished this little gem last night! I could not put it down, Sofia and Alex’s story is one of heartache and redemption. These two characters were on the sidelines for the first book of the finding love series, and honestly, I didn’t like where their story was going in book one. But the author, Erin Lynne did a beautiful job of making me fall in love with them in this book. They are witty and charismatic and just full of love for each other.
