This was hard for me to rate.. because i love to read curvy gal getting her man and this was a cute novella.. but ehh first lets start with the positive!!
Maisie is a curvy gal who likes her curves but she only going to this gym and personal trainer because her parents spent money and she doesn't wanna be mean and be wasteful.. so she goes and meets Patrick owner and trainer who happens to love curvy gals. And he is already head over heels.. they start off working out that leads to some other sweaty sexy times on the mat.. but their is a tiny drama from her parents... and i am glad she never forgave them.. i wouldn't also.
Now the Thing i disliked.. Patrick when he kept saying the curvy girl.. thats a worse nickname to have in ones pov.. also annoyed with the pun candy cane during sex also alittle grossed out he called her anal hole her brownie... stop with the food puns pls.. those are the things that brought my rating down. Once or twice but saying over again made me lower my rating..

this is probably my least favourite of the series so far. i feel like the conflict was too easily resolved. maisies parents deserved a lot more shit than what they got.

Okay
So i was looking for something hot to read. Found it. The storyline was good. Even with the short storyline. I love how Maisie and Patrick meet. And how even though Patrick is this hunk of a man who is all muscles can appreciate a curvy women. Because seriously so long as your healthy being skinny isn’t always the goal.
I love that you could tell the distance between Maisie and her parents. She called them by their names first. And it seems they always tried push how they wanted their daughters life to go than really knowing what Maisie wanted. Which was one problem I had them. And then after then basically telling her she’s fat and needs to lose weight and then maybe she could date, and she starts dating they don’t approve because Patrick is want who they had mind.
My biggest issue with her parents was how they tried to basically get Patrick’s business taken by exposing their daughter. The daughter they so called loved. If I were Maisie and Lorraine was my mother I would t have sent her updates through no one let alone an ultrasound picture. You have to be excepting of my life and the father of my child before I entertain any requests such as that. On top of the fact she won’t even women enough to ask herself. She asked through her sister.
Now the reason I gave the book three stars was because of that epilogue ending. Had it not been there I would have given it four. Putting your wedding ring in your butt as DP... I feel like that’s not the way that works. I mean I could be wrong. But I’m like isn’t that going to get lost in there? Isn’t that going to cut your butthole. I just couldn’t get past it. I know it’s me and my brain and maybe that awesome for some people but if you try putting a diamond ring with edges in my butthole. It’s a fight. Just saying.

What the hell did I just read?
Don't get me wrong. The first half of the book was the right amount of OTT instalove, combining the perfect blend of steamy erotica and sweet romance. Although, the summary did turn out to be a bit misleading, and Maisie unbelievably knew to call Patrick 'Daddy' despite being a virgin. But whatever.
For me, where the story really seemed to go off the rails was the second half. It just seemed wildly inconsistent from the rest of it. Never mind the fact that anal sex is not usually something I care to read about (it's hard to make it sound sexy, IMO); after all, to each their own. But the whole scene where Maisie and Patrick went looking at Christmas lights was just beyond ridiculous. First of all, who climbs on to a stranger's roof just to fix their decorations?! I'm with Patrick, just let the homeowners know about the messed-up Santa and move on! Secondly, why choose said stranger's roof to have a talk about birth control?! Of all places?! Third, Patrick's preferred method of birth control is apparently pulling out. I mean, I get that he's got a great hunk of man-meat swinging between his thighs, but seriously?! Tons of guys hate the feel of condoms, but they still suck it up, buttercup! And finally, the whole contraceptive talk turned out to be moot anyway 'cause, spoiler-but-not-really, she winds up pregnant!
Overall Verdict: 4 candy canes out of 10.

It looks like S.E. Law has gifted us with a very hot book this Holiday season.
This storyline totally embraces owning who you are, and the character of Maisie totally does (with some help from Patrick. Looks like this is one woman that is beautiful, inside and out, it really is too bad we can't say the same for her Parents.
What this disillusioned couple gave their only Daughter, for her birthday, is just another attempt to direct Maisie's life, the way that they'd like it to go, not her. It's a great thing that the personal trainer hired, Patrick, happens to be the owner, as well as an incredible man who has the strength to eventually get Maisie to see her for herself and not what her Parents want her to be. That's the thing about perfection, you just can't improve on it. These two realistic characters are the perfect match for one another and following along is a breeze, because you won't want to put your Kindle down.

This is book one in the Sweet Treats series. Nothing like starting off a series with a holiday sweet treat such as a candy cane. A personal trainer that is absolutely breath taking and has the physical advertisement of what dedication and hard work can accomplish, can really drive a girl to show up at the the gym every day. Maisie has always been on the larger side and with family pressure has decided to join the gym, work her a$$ off, literally and get everyone off her back. However, this professional relationship between Maisie and Patrick begins to change into the personal category. These two are very attracted to one another and this begins to show and grow. A short, well written story with a little holiday mixed in with the success and steaminess of a curvy woman getting her man. Enjoy!

Maisie lives at home with her parents while she works as a vet tech. She's a curvy girl but her parents are always trying to get her to lose weight. For a gift they give her a certificate for personal training sessions at a gym. Patrick is the trainer Maisie will be working with he is also the owner of the gym. When he sees her he is stunned by her beauty and she is nothing like her mother described. Their first session gets really heated and its not long before they are more than just trainer and client. What will her parents say about them being together?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. the chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I hate to end the year like this, but maybe this author just isn't for me. As a curvy girl myself, I love big girl romances, but I get pretty grossed out by the infantilization angle a lot of quick romances take, where the chubby young girl needs an older Daddy figure. (At least there wasn't a huge age gap - gross).The wording sways between sterile (something about the word buttocks and breasts in the same sentence just screams clinical to me) and silly (bottom cherry?, his "candy cane"?). The female character is 25, lives at home, and has literally zero interest in any change at all. Between that and the giggling and the Daddy play here, I'm thinking this girl may need some therapy more than she needs a personal trainer . And our guy... there's not really enough here to know. He's 30, owns a gym, parents are mentioned once. Yeah, this just isn't for me.

All about Patrick Walker who is thirty years old and the owner of Mr. P’s Cross-Fit Gym & Maisie Handle a twenty-five year old Vet Tech. For her birthday her parents gave her several mouths of Cross-Fit training to try encouraging her to lose weight to attract men so she can move out and get married. The author wrote a story about a young women who is doing a job she loves working with fury animals but not looking to move out of her parents home. Read about Maisie & Patrick and see if the love they feel for each other can carry them thru to the next level! I really enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read book two & three! I like that it’s about a large curvy women and the hot passion she finds with the right man who appreciates all her curves!!!

It wouldn't be so bad it they weren't so obviously judgemental about her curvy body. As a birthday present her parents gift her with one on one gimme classes with a personal trainer hoping she will loose weight and finally find a man. Little did they know her life will change forever when she meets Mr P and his obvious admiration for her curves. Highly recommended

This was the perfect "big package" just in time for Christmas! Maisie has turned 25 years old and her parents gift her with a gym membership with her own personal trainer. Maisie's parents think she is overweight in a big way and she needs to lose weight to meet Mr Right. When Mr P, aka Patrick, meets Maisie, he thinks she is sexy curves and all. Before long, they are doing one on one exercise, if you know what I mean. It's a sexy novella and a must read!

This was a well decorated novellas with sexy scene from the top to bottom. Few were kinkier than others. Though some of the kinky one werent that explicit (if it was, then this book was definitely a soft porn in the making). They were at it almost everywhere and definitely anywhere. Love at first lust. It was a good romance book guaranteed to warm you inside out during winter season. Oh and how warm it is. Prepared to be blush!!

I like curvy girl romances but this didn't work for me. I find it hard to believe that on Maisie's first workout her pants split at her crotch and her trainer, Patrick, immediately goes down on her and gives her oral. Also can we please refer male and female parts correctly- not use candy cane for penis and brownie for the anus. No one would have anal sex in December on top of a stranger's roof. Too many things just didn't work for me.

This was my first time reading this author, and I think I would read another. Some of the dirty talk was a little weird, but the scenes were great. I love Patrick and Maise together. As a personal trainer, Patrick is tired of skinny girls. So when Maise, a beautiful curvy girl, gets sessions with him as a gift, he can’t resist. Drama ensues but HEA guaranteed.

This was really bad
The plot was ludicrous. The dialogue asinine and insipid simultaneously and the characters were this horrific caricatures that made no sense. I get it is instalove but the story has to make sense, has to be based in some level of reality unless this is just a farce or satire in which case it still was written poorly like a 13 year old boy tried to write a romance nove

I can overlook a few cringeworthy lines in a book. Sometimes they can make you laugh your ass of while still enjoying a story. That said this whole book was weird and cringey. First off her parents suck and are disgusting people. Second the scene with her pants ripping and him going to town just well no. I have enjoyed some of this author's other works as guilty taboo pleasures but I wouldn't recommend this one.

This is a great story! I loved every second of it. I couldn't put it down. I loved Maisie and Patrick. Maisie's parents bought her personal training to help her lose weight. They believe that if she loses weight, then she can meet a guy and move out. They don't understand that she is happy with how she looks but does what they want. She doesn't expect to meet Patrick. They have an instant connection. Will they be able to find their happily ever after?

Ugh, did not know this was a "daddy" novel. It started off all right, but when it got to her calling him daddy that was it for me.. The plot was flaky and crude, with out any real interactions, it was not believable. Maisie half way through turned into a giggling annoying teenager. Patrick was okay as an alpha male. This novel was not what i was expecting at all. The first part as i said was all right... but then it got weird.

This is hilariously horrible.
What grown-ass woman calls a man's penis, her candy cane. Her pants rip right at her crotch, come on. I don't know of any man that loves the idea of a woman's fat bulging out of her clothes and being turned on by it. Being in love with a curvy girl is fine but then talking negatively about thinner/fit people has an opposite effect.

Great story
I just finished reading this book. I actually like this story. The writing was done great. I love Patrick! He is alpha male, smart,and charming. I'm on the fence about Maisie. She's is content,sweet,and do gooder. The only thing I didn't like was the repetitions of talk about her weight. I don't understand. Overall good story. Great work S.E. Law.

This was a very hot story and I loved it. Patrick sounds so sweet and yummy. Where do I sign up to get one? Maisie is one lucky girl. I do feel sorry for her though about her parents. Her parents went way to far at that board meeting and I hope Maisie makes them pay for a long time. What they did was unforgivable. Thank you for this hot and steamy story, I loved it.

Just over the top and unrealistic
I am all for naughty and dirty talk but most of this book was just corny and unbelievable. I liked the characters and I could see them being relatable in any normal book but I just wish it was a bit more realistic. Both in their actions, words, and how things progress.

His Candy Cane – SE Law – Her parents are rather awful, but Maisie has decidedly questionable decision making skills. There were numerous mutterings of wth in this one. Maybe if there had been a little more story it wouldn’t have felt so weird. But I’m never a huge fan of love at first sight stories! If that’s your thing, you will like this! Happy Reading!

What a fun read. To start out trying to get the body you have always wanted and hiring a hunky personal trainer. Only to find out he wants your curvy body just the way it is. And then to find out everything about him is big. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
