Addiction Duet #1-2

Obsessed: The Complete Addiction Duet

Rate this book
Wall Street Journal bestseller Vivian Wood brings you the whole steamy, angsty story of Sean and Harper now in one boxed set!

The chemistry between Harper and Sean practically sizzles as they each deal with their own dark addictions and obsessions… especially to one another…

It started innocently enough. Beautiful Harper gave Sean those eyes… those eyes that meant, yes, take me. But Harper didn’t know Sean’s secrets… She didn’t know that he liked it rough.

More than rough. He liked to dominate. To punish. To degrade. It was the only way that the black hole in his soul wouldn’t swallow him up.

He would push her a little too far, and she would run. They all ran, eventually.

But that’s not what happened... when he put his hands around her throat and squeezed, Harper moaned. When he told her to stay away, she didn’t listen, misbehaving until she got spanked. When he took out the handcuffs, there was excitement in her eyes, mixed with a little fear.

The doe-eyed redhead liked it. More than that, she wanted it. She said so, time and again.

That’s the thing about sexy strangers, though… you never know what they’re hiding. And Harper is carrying a burden so heavy that even Sean’s secrets pale in comparison.

Raw emotions, sensitive topics perfectly elaborated! Addictive… ♥ ♥ ♥

Addiction

Harper and Sean meet at Sean's work at a tattoo shop when Harper shows up to get a tattoo.
There is some chemistry between them, and she spontaneously invites him to a house party she and her fellow models host...

I loved this fast-paced and thrilling story. It is quite dark, including two very serious topics that the author processed very well in my opinion.
This book is a real page turner and ends on a cliffhanger. It’s a good thing that this boxed set includes the sequel. ;)

Obsession

Harper and Sean… their sequel is even better than the first book.
I loved all those raw emotions they went through. They sent me on a rollercoaster ride myself.
Their feelings felt even more authentic, more profound, more comprehensible…
And both sensitive topics, alcoholism and eating disorder, were perfectly elaborated again.
What a fantastic book! I had to read on and on to just find out what would happen next.

Sean and Harper are both flawed characters - beautiful on the outside, but deeply troubled on the inside. He is able to gain control of himself through his dominance of Harper, and she thrives on Sean's dominance in the same way. This book touched on some dark topics. There are many forms of addiction, and trying to cope and live life day to day is a constant struggle. I was enthralled with this book and so taken by the main characters.

Obsession (Book 2) was a wonderful follow-up. It picks up where Addiction left off, with Sean in jail and Harper jobless and not knowing what happened to Sean. They try to pick up the pieces of their shredded lives, working against the demons that still threaten to destroy them. It's a truly emotional journey for them both as they work to find their way back to being together. Fantastic read!!!

I struggled to finish

Not what I expected from the blurb. I like dark reads. This was just depressing. Yes he is into rough dominating sex but there’s hardly any here. It’s mostly about her eating disorder. Too much about her eating disorder. A bit about his alcoholism but that just gets forgotten about too along with the bdsm because of the continual going on about her eating problem.

Enjoyable read

Both books - Addiction and Obsessed - were very enjoyable reads. The author did an excellent job of making you feel all the emotions that Sean and Harper were experiencing. I would say reading about Harper's issues was tough going in places. I would definitely recommend reading the Addiction Duet.

Good story. Full of twists.

Their passion is intense. Although they both struggle to keep their addictions checked it seems they may have traded one addiction for another.... each other.

Not what I expressed but loved it none the less

So I initially thought this series was about BDSM however quickly learnt that it was about addiction and eating disorder. Known the less I loved the storyline and the characters. It was a easy read and really enjoyed reading it.

Unexpected attraction

Compelling, exciting, intense, unpredictable, witty, page turner. A combination of insecurity, determination and strength and some steamy romance to save the day. Adult romance

So it’s a three star because of the domineering character of Sean. He controlled the bedroom at least until he broke one night. I didn’t care much for the pregnancy aspect, but I did learn quite a bit about eating disorders. This was an okay read.

Enjoyable read!

I must say that this is an enjoyable read! It had everything the, love, joy and heartbreak. The main characters were flawed to begin with and in some instances extremely immature. This made them a little more real as you go through the struggles of both of them together and apart. I don't want to give away any spoilers for this book. I will say if you are not into the BDSM lifestyle, don't read. Sean is a typical dominant with money and uses this on her but I believe to her betterment because she has her own addictions. She needed the control at that point or she may have died. It doesn't continue much outside the bedroom after they deal with their addictions.

Good story, love Sean & Harper

I want to start off saying I really liked the storyline of different addictions . But, I have it a 2 star rating because I'd be reading along and then there would be missing pages. I don't how much of the middle of the book was missing but not knowing how it ends... It's like having a paperback and finding out that the last pages had been torn out. Very disappointed
