Brian e Darcy raccontano una storia d'amore sofferta e dolorosa, il calore, gli affanni, i silenzi e le lacrime che entrambi hanno ingoiato per anni. C è solo risentimento ormai tra loro, il rimorso e la certezza che non hanno più nulla per cui lottare. Non sono fatti per trattenersi, né per stare insieme e tapparsi le ali. L'amore che provano è talmente immenso e generoso, che hanno consapevolmente rinunciato a dimostrarselo, per non limitare ognuno le scelte dell'altro. Perché l 'amore è altruismo, è vedere la persona più importante della tua vita realizzata e felice, in vetta al successo.
Brian è come un bambino spaventato. Non lascia avvicinare le persone perché ha paura che lo lascino. Non sopporterebbe un' altra perdita.
Non ha la sua famiglia, non ha niente per lui, non vuole niente per lui.
Nella vita ha voluto solo Darcy, ma non ci ha creduto. Ha continuato ad amarla da lontano, alla distanza di sicurezza che ha messo tra di loro per fare in modo che almeno uno dei due avesse la sua chance. E ha deciso fosse lei.
Non ha fatto questa scelta perché lei un giorno tornasse, non ha rinunciato a loro per vederla un giorno rinunciare a sé stessa.
Non vede un domani, non vede loro due nel futuro.
Ho amato il percorso lungo e introspettivo di Brian, il mettere a nudo le sue paure, non sentirsi mai abbastanza né parte di un gruppo.
Ho trovato i dialoghi con Andy molto struggenti che mi hanno commossa. La verità che lui gli ha taciuto ha alzato un muro tra i fratelli, ma con pazienza e dedizione riusciranno a trovare la fiducia e la stima necessarie per essere dinuovo uniti.
Un finale da incorniciare, pieno di amore puro, dove ognuno trova la "sua casa" in questa famiglia allargata che sono i meravigliosi personaggi di questa favolosa serie.

Darcy ha 15 anni quando conosce Brian, lui è il suo grande amore, lei per lui rinuncerebbe ai suoi sogni di viaggiare, di costruirsi e diventare qualcuno altrove fin quando Brian non la ferisce profondamente tant’è che dopo anni prova ancora del profondo risentimento per lui. Brian ha un passato difficile, il suo cognome non è ben visto dove vive ed è cresciuto insieme a suo fratello Andy, non vuole aprirsi con nessuno quindi da poca confidenza in più non si sentiva adatto a Darcy, lui era un semplice barista....
Mi sono emozionata tanto a leggere questo libro, la sofferenza di entrambi si è fatta sentire fortemente, Brian mi è sembrato un cucciolo impaurito a cui dare tanto amore, mi ha fatto molta tenerezza. Per me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Salve lettrici,
A.S. Kelly è una garanzia per me e i suoi lavori non mancano mai nella mia libreria virtuale, così, appena saputo dell’uscita di “The Only Man”, ero ansiosa di averlo tra le mani.
Tutta le serie ambientata nel Connemara è stata strepitosa, l’ho adorata volume dopo volume, quindi per nulla al mondo mi sarei persa il libro conclusivo che ci porta per l’ultima volta in compagnia di una bellissima famiglia allargata.
Chi, come me, conosce l’autrice e la serie, sa già a cosa sta andando incontro perdendosi in questa lettura, ma non per questo resta incantato dalla storia.
Io, come sempre, ne sono rimasta affascinata.
Anche questa volta l’autrice mi ha sorpreso ed emozionata e a farmi battere il cuore all’impazzata è stato Brian, il protagonista maschile, già conosciuto negli altri volumi.
Brian è il più testardo del gruppo e, come ognuno di loro, nasconde un amore segreto.
Da quando era ragazzino Brian ha una cotta, diventata nel tempo molto di più, per Darcy Kylemore, anche lei incontrata nei volumi precedenti.
Darcy è la sorella di Sloan Kylemore, protagonista del libro precedente.
Tra Darcy e Brian c’è una storia lunga e dolorosa iniziata quando erano poco più che ragazzini.
La loro storia non è finita bene e Darcy è lontana da casa ormai da anni perché spera che così riesca a dimenticare Brian, ma si sbaglia.
Entrambi, nonostante gli anni, non hanno dimenticato e vivono con un dolore nel cuore che li porta a odiarsi.
Ma l’odio e l’amore sono due facce della stessa medaglia e i nostri protagonisti lo sanno molto bene.
Darcy, seppur dice di odiare Brian, torna spesso a casa solo per lui.
Così, dopo anni di separazione, questi due innamorati si ritrovano di nuovo nella stessa piccola cittadina, con gli stessi amici e gli stessi sentimenti di allora.
E seppur desiderino andare avanti e dimenticare, nei loro cuori non c’è spazio per altro se non l’amore.
Che dirvi, dunque? Già dalla trama si capisce tantissimo di questa storia e si l’intensità del contenuto.
Poi, chi conosce l’autrice sa che questa lettura è piena di meraviglie: il rapporto con gli amici, la famiglia e il luogo a cui appartengono.
Così come l’amore, il dolore e la speranza.
Aggiungete a queste meraviglie la penna e lo stile di un’autrice che riesce a farmi sorridere e piangere nella stessa pagina e otterrete un mix di tutte le cose che cerco in un romanzo.
Un mix che so di trovare nei romanzi di questa autrice che non sbaglia un colpo.

Quando è uscito il libro, ero da un lato trepidante di approfondire la storia di Brian, dall'altro ero consapevole, che con lui si chiudeva il cerchio, e avrei dovuto lasciar andar via questi straordinari personaggi, che ho amato tanto, questa famiglia di sangue e non, che mi ha tenuta incollata alle pagine, facendomi provare ogni sorta di emozioni, passando dal pianto alle risate e viceversa, in un continuo saliscendi senza riuscire a prendere fiato; quest'ultimo capitolo della serie, mi ha dato il colpo di grazia, le emozioni si sono moltiplicate ulteriormente e negli ultimi capitoli ho consumato tutti i fazzoletti, non preoccupatevi, erano lacrime di commozione, di meraviglia e di gioia con un pizzico di malinconia ❤️. Il ritorno di Darcy al Connemara ci fa conoscere meglio Brian, di come lui l'abbia sempre amata, ma anche allontanata; vedere come la sua vita e le sue scelte siano state condizionate dalla paura di perdere le persone a lui care, di come il suo cognome sia stato un marchio e un peso a causa di suo padre, portandolo a vivere un po' ai margini, a non sentirsi degno e facente parte di questa grande famiglia, di come sia sempre rimasto con un piede dentro e uno fuori, non si sia mai sentito completamente a casa, mi ha emozionata tanto e ho provato tanta tenerezza per lui; ma vederlo crescere, e cercare di sconfiggere queste paure, vederlo affrontare le conseguenze delle sue scelte e cercare di porre rimedio al rancore che Darcy continua a provare per lui, vederlo essere finalmente a casa, mi ha resa orgogliosa...
A. S. Kelly è straordinaria come riesce sempre a farmi entrare in empatia con i suoi personaggi, e amo come li fa interagire fra loro, come riesce a creare sempre questo clima di amore, amicizia, goliardia, complicità... Grazie per Alex, Ellie, Shane, Andy, Reid, Sloane, Brian e Darcy ❤️ per non parlare di tutti i personaggi secondari ❤️

While the premise is homey and heartwarming, I was confused half of the time.
2 stars for the side characters cuz I enjoyed them way more than the main characters. Darcy and Brian ( the main characters) were overdramatic and insufferable. They acted like teens throughout the book Which irritated me a lot.
I just simply didn't care about the characters or anything in the book.
While the premise is homey and heartwarming, I was confused half of the time.

Ho appena finito di leggere "The Only Man", che dire... Intenso... Profondo... Struggente... Bellissimo.
Ho dovuto respirare profondamente parecchie volte, soprattutto quando ho intuito una determinata cosa, ho ingoiato tanto perché non mi andava di leggere attraverso le lacrime, mi viene più facile scriverci attraverso , come in questo momento, ma non ci sono solo lacrime in questa storia, anzi, c'è molto altro, vi troverete travolti da un vortice di emozioni, sarete catapultati in un mondo colmo d'amore, di amicizia, di rapporti non sempre facili, di confronti delle volte piuttosto dolorosi, riderete e anche tanto, ma come ho già accennato vi commuoverete, e anche parecchio, vi consiglio di leggere con calma, come consigliato dall'autrice, di fermarmi ogni tanto e di fare dei bei respiri profondi, magari servirà a poco, ma vi aiuterà in alcuni momenti, fidatevi.
Ho letto che tante lettrici vorrebbero che la serie non finisse, probabilmente un po' lo vorrei anche io, ma poi penso che forse continuare sarebbe troppo, preferisco immaginare il dopo, e poi in caso di nostalgia posso tornare in Connemara ogni volta che voglio.
Credo che A. S. Kelly con il suo "E poi..." abbia dato la perfetta chiusura a questa meravigliosa serie.
Ringrazio l'autrice per avermi fatto incontrare queste stupende persone(non storcete il naso, per me è come se esistessero veramente) e avermi fatto far parte delle loro vite.

Il finale perfetto per una serie perfetta.
Ho amato Brian dal primo momento in cui è apparso, ho bramato questo libro per tanto. Ora che è arrivato non posso fare altro che scrivere questa recensione con le lacrime agli occhi e il cuore gonfio.
Brian non è un uomo facile, distrutto da tante cose e dalla mancanza di Darcy. Darcy è piena di odio e di amore per lui anche se non lo vuole ammettere. Ho adorato le loro interazioni, i loro dialoghi mi hanno distrutta, ma non ho potuto fare altro che amarli lo stesso e tifare fino all’ultimo respiro per loro. Perché loro due insieme sono tutto.
La presenza della famiglia poi è fondamentale. Senza tutti loro Brian annegherebbe,senza tutti loro non sarebbe il Connemara.
Ho pianto come una disperata ad ogni dialogo con suo fratello Andy, ho riso e pianto con loro con Shane, Reid, Ellie e Sloan. Ho pianto forse più di Brennan e per Brennan.
Il finale è distruttivo, è dolce, è così tanto pieno di amore che non si può fare altro che amarli, piantarli nel cuore e far crescere radici.

L ho scritto e lo ripeto: As Kelly mi fai diventare una piagnucolona !!! Adoro le tue storie e il Connemara e le sue compagnie ce le ho nel cuore... As Kelly non riesco a spiegare quello che provo quando leggo i tuo libri: le emozioni che mi provochi, le sensazioni che scateni mi fanno rimpiangere di non essere un tuo personaggio .. vorrei essere lì con tutti loro , far parte della vita di Alex ed Ellie, di Shane e Reid e di Andy e Brian e... di tutti.. consiglio tutta la serie a tutti coloro che voglio emozionarsi davvero!!!

È difficile scrivere cosa si prova quando si arriva alla fine di una serie. E soprattutto alla fine di un libro come questo. Talmente bello che qualsiasi parola non renderebbe l'idea.
La storia d'amore tra Brian e Darcy è stupenda. Sofferta, struggente, dolorosa, romantica, dolce, unica. Loro due sono perfetti.
E la vecchia guardia? Le nostre donne? La nostra meravigliosa compagnia? Che personaggi fantastici! Esilaranti, divertenti, imbranati, rudi, burberi, ma tanto tanto reali.
Mi mancherà il Connemara. Molto.
Mi ha rubato un pezzetto di cuore.

La storia d'amore tra Brian e Darcy è stupenda. Sofferta, struggente, dolorosa, romantica, dolce, unica. Loro due sono perfetti.

Ho finito il libro, ed è vero che la fine è sempre dolorosa anche se magnifica... ho pianto per più mezz’ora perché questa storia mi ha distrutto. Molte volte mi emoziono per delle storie, quelle di A.s. Kelly riescono sempre a coinvolgermi totalmente ❤️ brian ha seguito il suo cuore e ha fatto bene, ha preso la sua strada e finalmente ha trovato casa ma è stato straziante 😭 grazie per loro, grazie per le risate, grazie per le avventure di tutti loro... per aver concluso con colui che ha dato il via a tutto questo 💙❤️💙
Mi sono rivista un po’ in Brian, nelle sue paure, nel suo non sentirsi mai abbastanza, nel non sentirsi parte di un gruppo, di quella famiglia,nel nel voler rendere felice lei pur soffrendo lui 😭 una storia che ricorderò sempre quindi grazie infinite 💕

Mi blocco prima di guadagnare la salvezza, perché la mia salvezza non vale quanto la sua disfatta.
Mi volto lentamente e lo guardo negli occhi. Non sono cambiati, sono sempre quelli di un ragazzo spaventato a morte a cui la vita non ha dato nulla in cui credere e che non ha avuto il coraggio di provare a credere in noi.

La storia che ha come protagonisti Brian e Darcy ci racconta di un amore sofferto, straziante. Un lunghissimo addio fra due ragazzi con una precedente relazione, che non sono mai riusciti a chiudere definitivamente. Sotto le braci di un odio rancoroso per gesti sbagliati ed errori, Brian e Darcy sanno di amarsi ancora, ma sanno anche che le loro vite li portano su strade diverse. Molto spazio è occupato dal loro odio; quello di Darcy, in particolare, per qualcosa che Brian ha fatto da adolescente, quando ancora era il prototipo del cattivo ragazzo. Un errore che ha avuto l’esito di allontanarla, ma allo stesso tempo un modo per lasciarla libera di vedere il mondo, di trovare la sua strada.
Tutte queste emozioni irrisolte e sepolte dai rispettivi tentativi di dimenticarsi si risvegliano nel momento in cui Brian riesce a strapparle un’opportunità, non per una seconda occasione, ma per regalarle pochi giorni in cui creare nuovi ricordi felici insieme da conservare quando lei se ne andrà di nuovo. La loro separazione, infatti, è fuori questione, dato che Darcy ha una carriera dall’altra parte del mondo, in Nuova Zelanda, e che Brian non ha niente nella vita, se non i pochissimi legami affettivi nella comunità di Connemara, in Irlanda.

La storia che ha come protagonisti Brian e Darcy ci racconta di un amore sofferto, straziante. Un lunghissimo addio fra due ragazzi con una precedente relazione, che non sono mai riusciti a chiudere definitivamente. Sotto le braci di un odio rancoroso per gesti sbagliati ed errori, Brian e Darcy sanno di amarsi ancora, ma sanno anche che le loro vite li portano su strade diverse. Molto spazio è occupato dal loro odio; quello di Darcy, in particolare, per qualcosa che Brian ha fatto da adolescente, quando ancora era il prototipo del cattivo ragazzo. Un errore che ha avuto l’esito di allontanarla, ma allo stesso tempo un modo per lasciarla libera di vedere il mondo, di trovare la sua strada.

The Only Man by A.S. Kelly is the fourth book in this series. It is a return to love story that brings Brian and Darcy back together. This is not one of those books where you can pick up any book in the series and know exactly what is going on without reading the rest. The characters were well developed, but the story could have been developed a bit more. After 10 years, Darcy returns to her hometown and begs Brian to take her back and try again at love. Will Brian accept her?

This is the fourth book in the 'From Connemara with Love' series. I have happily read book two and three where you meet Andy, Shane, Reid and Sloane. You also met the couple from book one Alex and Ellie. Although this book is part of a series, you don't have to read the series in order to read this book. In fact at the front of this book there is a character summary for anyone who doesn't know the characters or needs a reminder.
This book concentrates on Brian and Darcy, both of who you meet in the other books. There story is told over the course of 58 Chapters and an Epilogue. Now Brian and Darcy are not just two characters who meet for the first time in this story. Oh no they have a past. A past that is hinted at before it is finally revealed.
Now these hints of their shared past will intrigue readers, and get them wondering what exactly happened in the past and will it affect Brian and Darcy now. Brian and Darcy do not have it easy when it comes to this path they are on. But that uneasiness means that the readers get hooked. Readers will find it easy to get stuck into this book and not want to put it down until they have read the entire thing.
I feel like I need to be honest and say this book needs to come with a slight warning. This warning goes out to the readers who will cry while reading, in fact all readers need this warning. Do not have a packet of tissues with you when you read this book, you will need a fresh box! This reader went through a stage that they couldn't read a few chapters before reaching for a tissue. Now this isn't a bad thing, this is just me getting emotionally invovled with this book and the characters/
One thing to really love about this series and this book is that as the series continues you get life updates on the previous characters. So for the readers out there who have read the series you get to see how Andy, Shane, Ellie, Alex, Reid and Sloan are in.
Overall as much as this book emotionally destroyed me I loved it. This is the exact kind of book that destroys a readers emotions, and the moment they finish reading it they recommend it to anyone who will listen. I personally hope this is not the last book in this series.

This is the newest book (4) in the From Connemara With Love Series. This is all about Brian Veldons and Darcy, the love of his life, who’s back in town again to see her family and to get back what Brian stole from her…her heart. This story starts out with a lot of mystery surrounding the relationship between Brian and Darcy and what really happened in their past. The answers are slowly reveled as the story progresses.
Brian wants Darcy back, but he doesn’t think he deserves her after what he did to her. Darcy is too lost and hurt and wants to punish him for it. It’s a heartbreaking story. Brain doesn’t believe in himself and made a terrible mistake, but now it’s up to him to fix it, but it may not be fixable.
What I loved:
▪️Brian’s friends. They didn’t like what Brian did, but they still loved and supported him in their usual twisted and crazy way trying to help him win Darcy back.
▪️ The way my perspective switched at the half way mark of this book. At first I was all like NO at what Brian did and I wasn’t happy with it all, but once it hit 50% things cleared up I did a 180. Man this book toyed with me (in a good way) 😂
▪️Brian. The growth he went through. Toward the end when it really showed how broken he was it wrecked me. He completely had me tearing up and won me over.
▪️ Toward the ending when things were still uncertain and rocky I teared up again and also with the Ellie situation I shed a few more tears. This book went from me being uncertain if I was going to like it to OMG I LOVE IT 😁
▪️ The way the author made it all work when I wasn’t so sure he could redeem himself with me or Darcy.
I LOVED this book. I’m so glad I gave this book a chance and this whole series. It was so different and I fell in love with all these zany characters. All the books were amazing for me. Thank you @netgalley so much for this #ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Love should come easy, but what if it isn’t?
Brian is the kind of guy nobody expects much of. He avoids responsibility and doesn’t want to change. Everyone also knows that he is not relationship – material. But what nobody knows, that there is one woman who holds his heart. But that is also the woman that he will never have. Because he once had Darcy and he ruined it all, and now Darcy hates him. When Darcy returns back home, her hatred is obvious, because Brian took one thing from her and she wants it back. But there is a thin line between love and hate…
When I read some of the previous books of this series, I was a little bit frustrated as there were some references I couldn’t follow (as what happened even earlier). So even if in this book I was a bit more up to date, I was glad that the author gave ‘the past’ and the previous main characters a little bit more space in this book!
This book, the story of Brian and Darcy was a rollercoaster of emotions on so many different levels.
Darcy feels so much hatred towards Brian, and while initially we do not know why, we could feel what it was all about. And while resenting Brian for so long may seem a bit over the top, when I read about Darcy’s true feelings, I could understand her. Darcy and Brian go way back, and Darcy saw something in Brian that nobody did. She knew the real Brian, and believed in him, as he showed her also a side he showed no one. So I felt her pain when she each time returned home, because the hurt was still so palpable, and why she was so reluctant to go back home.
And then Brian… I never wished for someone that people would see the real him. Brian is still carrying the burden of his father’s past with him. And that made people being wary of him (and his brother). Add that his actions didn’t really change that impression, and you have the typical bad boy in front of you. But there is so much more than being an irresponsible, lazy, womanizing man! Actions always speak louder but in Brian’s case, his reasoning is way much important than what he does. He feels that in every case, situation, is never enough and he doesn’t want to burden his ‘being less’ with anyone. For those who matter to him, he only wants the best, even if that means heartbreak for him.
While the previous stories I enjoyed reading, I found this story had that little extra. It shows us the vulnerability of people, the doubts and low self – esteem people can have. But also the mixed feelings…While Darcy is adamant to hate Brian, it’s obvious that she really doesn’t. But the hurt she felt so many years ago, is not easy to put that aside. And Brian has to see that he is worthy of being loved, and love, because it won’t always result in losing that person.
This book shows us self – esteem can make or break a person. And that yes, in the process of accepting ourselves we can hurt people. But also that sometimes opening up, and showing the love we feel, can result in a beautiful love story. I realized while reading this book that even if we get hurt by those who (are supposed to) love is, sometimes it doesn’t mean that we are not enough, but they don’t feel like being enough. But loving someone means trusting that we are enough, and that even if initially maybe reluctantly, we are ready to change our whole world and be with that One True Love is everything we want and need to feel complete and worthy.

Sono giunta all’ultimo libro della serie From Connemara with love e come mi succede sempre, tra i tanti, ci dev’essere quello che mi fa soffrire di più, quello per cui verso lacrime senza vergognarmi, quello per cui faresti di tutto per vederlo, finalmente, felice come merita.
Lui è Brian, tutti lo sbeffeggiano, anche se con scherzosità e affetto, ma lui non è quella testa vuota con cui viene soprannominato.
Brian nasconde tanto dolore, tanta paura, tanta rabbia e, soprattutto, nasconde un errore che serviva a voler dare una possibilità alla sua Darcy.
Brian e Darcy vi porteranno nel loro dolore, nel loro odio, nel loro sentirsi inadatti, ma fra tutto questo, vi porteranno dritti ai loro cuori che non hanno solo dolore, odio, inadeguatezza, ma un amore grande, immenso che non può e non deve vederli separati.

This is a second chance romance between Darcy and Brian. They have a lot of unfinished feelings and business. I don't believe this story needed 55 plus chapters. Although I love the deep dive into the characters' backstories and thoughts I would have rather the story was shorter. One main reason why is because for a quarter of the book the mystery was.. Why was darcy in town for so long? What did Brian take from Darcy? And what's the secret of what's Darcy has going on where she actually lives. My head was going back and forth.. Questions where asked with legit no answer..and this went round and round for a quarter of the book.
By the halfway point, I didn't even care about the mystery or why Brian and Darcy aren't together. This whole thing could have been solved with a bunch of simp, e conversations.
I would have even been happy if the audience was told the answers instead of creating this artificial mystery.
Now I haven't read the previous books so I can't speak on the others romance but the supporting characters were in this book too much. Too many side conversations about what so and so is thinking or doing. Usually, when you have a series, you see less of the other characters not to say they can't make an appearance but they almost had lead roles.
I think I would have enjoyed this more if it was shorter and the conflict was more straight up.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

This second chance romance is book 4 in the series but can be read as a standalone. I recommend going back and reading the others first as the ancillary characters in this book are main characters in the others, giving so much more depth to them in The Only Man.
This book in the series focuses on Brian and Darcy. It’s very mysterious about their relationship, hinting that one of them or both of them messed up very badly, and that Darcy ran away from her home and family because of it. She’s come back because she wants something back from Brian before she leaves for good.
One thing I didn’t enjoy was when the two main characters are making out there are three separate descriptions of wanting to die when they are kissing. Then a page later there’s a fourth. It was repetitive, and it didn’t seem genuine or realistic to me. I also didn’t like how mysterious the author was trying to be about what went on between those two characters that tore them apart, it was a lot of build up for not much of a reveal.
Besides these two flaws I enjoyed the story. I still love this little town and now that I know the story for almost all the characters I love it even more. I love that it includes LGBTQ themes with Shane and Andy’s relationship. And I love that even though Brian is a screw-up seemingly with no ambition his found family is still there to encourage him to do the right thing.
While this book wasn’t my favorite out of the series… The series as a whole is a great read.

Firstly, I’d like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for giving me a free e-arc of The Only Man.
Darcy and Brian, our two major characters in The Only Man, loathe themselves because they love one another. They detest the fact that no matter what they do, they are always each other's comfort. With a ten-year gap between their last relationship, this is a second chance romance. And like with every second chance romance in collective memory, it ruined me.
The characters and perhaps their relationship were the book's strongest features, but apart than that, I couldn't wait to finish it. I was desperate for it to be over. I can't say the same about the narrative but the characters are so well-developed. As much as I adore second chance romances, the fact that their connection was the main focus of the story irritated me to no end. It didn't really have a compelling narrative other than "Oh, I love him, but he crushed my heart therefore I hate myself for that." It didn't even center on their relationships with their friends, families, or jobs—nothing. Simply put, it appears that the author rushed to complete this in order to meet a deadline and did not have the time to carefully develop the plot (with the fact that the novel is 58 chapters long).
Darcy and Brian, our two major characters in The Only Man, loathe themselves because they love one another. They detest the fact that no matter what they do, they are always each other's comfort. With a ten-year gap between their last relationship, this is a second chance romance. And like with every second chance romance in collective memory, it ruined me.

This book is the 4th in the connemora with live series. Disclaimer: I have not read the first 3 books in the series but this does not matter because it did not affect my reading experience.
I really enjoyed this book and enjoyed the author's take on a second chance romance. I liked the deep dive into the main character backstory although the may side character stories were a little over powering and overwhelming. It kind of muffled the main storyline making it a little wordy and confusing. The plot does bring up a lot of questions that were not really answered.
With all of this in mind I did enjoy the story once I was able to figure out that there was a mystery I needed to figure out. The relationship and the breakup was realistic heart breaking and making want to throw the "book" across the room (no I didn't ) it had me pulling my hair out in frustration and some moments I wanted to reach into the book and shake the characters
All in all I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it and recommend to start the series from the first book.

This was somewhat of a tough read for me. For starters, it’s the 4the book in the series and I felt a little lost trying to keep up with things. It might have been better had I read the others beforehand, but I didn’t realize it was necessary. I can’t take stars off for that though.
What made me drop the rating to 3 stars is the wordiness. There was so much going on and yet I felt like we were getting nowhere. A lot of redundancy was happening and I felt like I was running in place. It’s not a good feeling. Another reason is the sheer amount of side characters. When you need to have a glossary at the beginning of a book listing out the characters and who they are, that’s when you know it’s too much. They shouldn’t be that involved because they take up so much space and detract from the main characters. It doesn’t mean they can’t be in there, but not to that extreme.
Aside from that, it wasn’t terrible.

I would give this book 3.5 stars.
I absolutely love all of the character development. Seriously. Kelly hasn’t simply invested in her main characters, but also the surrounding characters. I know that this isn’t her first book in this world, but it was the first book I read, and I appreciated that she’d fleshed out the Sullivan’s and Seamus’s, alongside everyone else.
I also think there were some fantastic lines and points in the book. I loved seeing Brian’s growth, specifically. Especially at the end.
Where this book lost points for me was the wordiness. I feel that it could have been condensed by a few chapters, easily, and that there were certain aspects of the plot that were drawn out, as a result. I also feel that there was a lot of repetition due to the wordiness.
Overall, a good winter read, especially if you’re interested in small towns with a whole slew of characters who simply can’t mind their own business!

It’s listed as part of a series that can be read as a standalone. Not so sure about that. While the story in this particular book is wrapped up at the end, technically making it a standalone I suppose, there is so much else going on and so many other characters in this one that you feel completely lost if you haven’t read the others, which I have not. There are SO MANY side characters. Far too many and it detracts from the main ones. There are long stretches where a lot happens but nothing really progresses the story forward.
It’s…fine. I wouldn’t go out of my way to read it and I don’t know that it was strong enough to sift through three previous books to make this one better.

They were in love but they broke up . Now 10 years later she is back at their hometown and she is asking him to give her back what she gave him and he refuses to give it back . Will they be able to be back together ? I loved all the group of friends . It can be read alone but it is better to have read all the series .

This was a great book. The Characters were completely fleshed out. You can tell the author spent a great deal of time developing them. The story between the two main characters was completely endearing. At times this story was heartbreaking but it also had some humor and sweetness thrown in as well. Overall this was a great second chance romance and I throughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend.

I feel like I should have read the other books in the series but otherwise it was a good read! A little confusing because of all the other characters so I guess I need to read the whole series now.
