A Century of Christian Science Healing

Rate this book
Many of the healings included in this book were first given in Wednesday evening testimony meetings in Christian Science churches throughout the world.

These meetings are held in handsome church edifices and in modest little halls, at military posts and on college campuses. Some even take place in private homes. But the common denominator in all of them is gratitude.

The man or woman bearing spontaneous witness to a new dimension of Christian experience, to big or little blessings, to God's healing power, offers up gratitude not merely for outward benefits but for fresh insights.

This book shares some of the insights.

I read this book when I was in high school and found it very inspiring. It opened my thought to the possibilities of Christian Science practice and included the most amazing testimony I've ever heard -- to me anyway. The "Most Amazing" testimony is different for everyone. But for me it was the woman who came to understand man's innate freedom as a child of God, and simply walked out of the Nazi prisoner of war camp where she was being held -- down the middle of the road in in the middle of the day. And then went on to make her way through Nazi Germany and other held territory without papers or ration cards, always safe and provided for, throughout the rest of the war as she pursued a greater understanding of Christian Science.

The level of freedom embodied in that demonstration has been a beacon throughout my life -- and that's just one of the many experiences shared in this book.
