Think you should only visit Europe in the summer? Think again.

This book is beautifully arranged by month. Choose the month you want to travel, and about 25 European cities/towns, based on a flowchart of your personal vacation style (relaxing vs challenging, wellness, art/culture, length of trip, budget, etc), will be suggested. Eight events in Europe are described for each month in case you would like to plan a trip around one. You can also pick a destination based on whether or not you are traveling with children.

For each European city suggested, there are gorgeous photos, an explanation of why this is the most ideal time of year to go, transportation details, and more. There is also a very handy key describing each location: wildlife/nature, adventure, value, cultural, food/drink, relaxation, etc.

If you obtain a copy at your local public library, you may eventually consider buying the book to keep as a handy reference. “Every traveler is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to travel.” Avoid crowds and make more informed decisions using this highly recommended book.

Reading takes you on adventures through time and space, all from the comfort of wherever you are.

Lonely Planet's "Where to Go When" is a great reference guide for deciding on your next destination. While their views may be biased, I can never fault their photos. Even for places I've visited before, their photos make them look even better. I enjoy flipping through the pages, admiring the vivid colours and imagining I'm there.

the salesmanship of this kind of travel writing was absolutely exhausting. excerpts too short, too general, too geared at an audience that is at once too broad yet too narrow
