Jane Holland is an award-winning British poet and novelist, and proud mum of five amazing kids. The middle child of romance legend Charlotte Lamb, she grew up in Essex and the Isle of Man, but now lives in Cornwall. As Jane Holland, she writes poetry, thrillers, historical suspense and some romance. She also writes commercial women's fiction as Betty Walker, best known for her Cornish Girls wartime sagas. ALSO, try her popular contemporary romance and romcoms as Beth Good! (She also writes as Victoria Lamb, Elizabeth Moss, and Hannah Coates, among other names.)
Really enjoyed this thriller series. The setting of Cornwall is just right for an astrologist joining a police investigation. The higher ranks resisted - but Stella Penhaligon was right (or was she?) Great characters I enjoyed that Jack's sister came to visit, fantastic plot - I enjoyed the 'Leo' character in this instalment with his dyed hair and fake chess game.
Thank you so much for your author's notes in this series Jane Holland, i appreciate them very much! I love to work out the astrology in astrological fiction, so this attention to the astrological reader is brilliant!! 'The astrology in this series of books is based around both traditional astrological lore and my own experience. I try to make sure the charts described by Stella are possible and make logical sense. When horary charts are described in these books, they are nearly always based on real charts, specifically drawn up at the time of writing so I wouldn’t make a mess of things: for instance, failing to have Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter locked in their terrifying threesome in Capricorn earlier this year, and instead randomly placing one in the third and another in the tenth, simply to suit the exigencies of the plot.mistakes are my own, but I hope none are so grave as to throw an astrological reader out of the story.' There's a decent amount of astrology in here, both psychological and horary, so i was happy!
JaneHolland is a new author for me but I did enjoy her book The Part of Death even though I found the repetition of astrology very boring and skipped that as much as possible
