FRIENDS SHOULDN’T BECOME LOVERS.

He knows he’s not good for her.

Governor of Texas Marcus Deane has been drawn to Ariella Avery since the moment they’d almost been killed by the same man. He just can’t stop thinking about her. Marc lives in the limelight. Sweetly shy Ariella is still healing from the trauma of nearly dying. The last thing she needs is the world watching every move she makes. He knows that. It’s best if he just keeps his distance. No matter how much it hurts. But someone knows how he feels and knows of her connections to some highly influential men. Someone knows… and will use that against Marc however they can. Unless he can find a way to stop them.

SHE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT TO THINK ABOUT HIM.

Strong, sure, handsome, and far too intense for her, Marc terrifies her on a thoroughly feminine level. Ariella doesn’t quite know what to do about him—or how he makes her feel. Even though she tries to resist the kind and caring man behind the political mask, Ariella falls for him and his two wonderful children more and more every time they are together. But being in the political arena can bring more than just unwanted attention. It can bring out enemies with a grudge. Enemies who will do anything to take what they want. No matter who they hurt. Now, there’s someone out there who wants two Marc dead. —And Ariella for himself...

AS THE NIGHT ENDS is the conclusion to the FINLEY CREEK GENERAL trilogy and is a full-length romantic suspense novel. The Finley Creek series contains large casts of characters, multiple scenes of violence, adventure, dark criminal behavior, cursing by heroes, heroines and villains, a few mild-to-moderate love scenes, and references to subject matter that may distress some readers, including assaults, abductions, mass shootings, child abuse and other dark themes.

Who is Calle Jaye Brookes?

Calle Jaye is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”).

Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish?

In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them!

Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too.

She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires.

She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too.

They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.

So happy that Marc and Ari get their happy ending!

Ariella has been through more than most over the last two years - kidnapped, shot and beaten. Everyone is protective of her for that reason and she lives in fear! Marcus is the Governor of Texas and is currently trying to stop the influx of drugs into and around Texas which are causing fatalities and trying to bring more jobs to Texas. He is attracted to Ariella but knows she doesn’t see him as that and tries to be her friend until all bets are off and they cross that line. So much happens though as they have people plotting against them from all different directions, internal and external to get what they want and not considering the consequences of their actions!

So happy that Marc and Ari get their happy ending:) Looking forward to more in this series!

As the Night Ends was excellent! Ms Brooke’s finally gave us Marc and Ari’s story and it did not disappoint! Marc had been attracted to Ariella for a long time, but he felt that his life circumstances were not what he thought would be good for Ariella. Marc and Ariella landed in many dangerous situations and they both began to see what everyone else was already able to see;they were in love with each other and his children also loved her. They were meant to be a family! I would love to read about their wedding, but that may be wishful thinking. If you enjoy a solid romantic suspense but not the sex, this is a book you will appreciate!

As the Night Ends (Finley Creek #6) by Calle J. Brookes
Well written and entertaining story in the Finley Creek universe. This is not a stand alone book. Most of the previous book's characters make an appearance and are integral to the plot.
Same issue as the previous book, some of the story line overlaps only this time we see the same situations from a different character's viewpoint.
I am a fan of Calle J Brookes' writing and in the past have complained about the proof reading and editing issues, there were some in this book as well. A Nice Read. 3 stars.

Great romantic suspense

The last of the main players in the drug operation are discovered in this book which is nice to see. Marc and Ariella get together in this book and move from friends to discovering that they are in love. So the three friends end up with the three Deane brothers. Grammar and editing were very good.

Another Calle J Brooks book, that I loved. I get into her characters, so much. Her books and characters in her Finley Creek Series are so relatable, but the men in ALL of her books are what dreams are made of. Check out all of her books. PAVAD Series and The Finley Creek Series, you won't go wrong.

I have read all of these and I do still like them but with this one I'm starting to wonder if there's just too many people in it! I'm struggling to remember who's who and what their relationship is to the main characters and really, how many babies can one women have had?!

Another winner!

This was another nail biter! The books in this series are not for the faint of heart. The plots are somewhat connected and I do not want to ruin any of the plots - they are just so good! Enjoy the stories!

Wow!!

This book keeps you on the edge of your seat from the beginning all the way on the end! It also sheds light on why some of the brothers and sisters do not interact well. Brookes knew what she was doing when she started this series!

I have followed this series from the beginning. Ariella, or Ari to her friends, have been through and awful lot together. Ari was is the quietest of the three and she is the most protected by her two friends Jillian and Lacy, but she has a quiet strength that comes out even more toward the end of this book.

Marcus Deane started out as her friend because his brothers were linked to her two friends. Marcus knew loss, he is a widower. He wants to protect Ari, everyone does.

Trouble seems to follow this couple even before they met. The story was good and had lots of connections to the other books in the series.

I liked it and it kept my interest and it was fun to catch up with her siblings. Apparently there are more than anyone ever knew. There were however a lot of grammatical errors. More so than any of the previous novels. This will not keep me from looking forward to the next one in the series and I hope that one about Sid, the youngest is coming. We know the least about her.
