Cade Daly is already a king, but he’s about to be offered the throne of an entirely different kingdom.

Bird shifter Cade rules the supernatural world of the West Coast of the U.S. Sure, it isn’t the biggest kingdom, but the job comes with perks and doesn’t take much work. Yet, he’s getting restless, so he heads under water when he receives a summons from the Triton King.

Marigold Tidal is ready to be crowned queen. She’s spent years preparing to take the Triton throne. So why is her uncle offering the job to a cocky bird shifter? And more importantly, why does she find him so infuriatingly attractive?

Tempers flare and red hot chemistry brews as Cade and Marigold find themselves in a battle neither saw coming.

I think Cade is perplexed by his lady, “just thinking about me gets you angry?” I raised an eyebrow. “Normally I bring out different strong emotions in women.” Cade has no filter, “why are you hiding your body from me? I’ve had it six times.” I liked this book, I can't wait to see where the story leads.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. I was in no way compensated for this review.

Alyssa Rose Ivy returns once again to the Chronicles world with the new series, The Triton Chronicles! Wreck follows bird shifter Cade, who we met wayyy back in the day when he agreed to help out a certain Pteron in exchange for being made a king...the king of California. Cade ventures under the sea when he was summoned by the king for some unknown reason, it's there that he meets Marigold!

Marigold was expecting to take over her uncle's job as king of the sea, he raised her and her brother--who decided to live surface side a long time ago--when their parents died at a young age. Instead she gets the surprise of her life when her expected job is handed over...to a land dweller...to a flying-birdman-land dweller! Lol. Though, to be fair Cade was taken completely off guard as well, as he's never even met the king until that fateful day.

One can imagine that Marigold would want nothing to do with Cade...well, that's partly true, until a few drinks later and you can imagine what happens! Though the connection between Marigold and Cade seems real to the both of them. But yet, they come from two different worlds, so could a relationship between them even work? Time will tell, I suppose, but knowing Alyssa, something will be keeping these two together!

The true conflict comes in the night after Marigold and Cade grow closer and that is to find that her uncle, the king, has vanished! Just gone. Whether it was a kidnapping or something more sinister has yet to be seen. And naturally, Marigold and Cade are prime suspects since Marigold was less than pleased when her uncle named Cade his heir. And Cade being an outsider doesn't look too good either.

It was so much fun to come back to the Chronicles world! I've forgotten how much I missed this world and the characters! You will see lots of familiar faces in this one! I love how these characters are always reappearing in these other stories! It's just fun to see the world continuously connecting back together! It's a trip for sure!

I was taken by surprise when it came to having the king go missing...it seems so random, and yet, I do believe that is Alyssa's point! I can't wait to see how this greater mystery will unfold as lots of dots are being laid out for us, but it's still rather early to try to get any of them to connect just yet! Luckily, the wait for the next installment isn't too far ahead as I am dying to know what will happen next!

Alyssa is one of my all time favorite New Adult authors, particularly because she writes Paranormal New Adult! I mean, how awesome is that? That she continuously builds upon her Chronicles world is nothing short of amazing! Each trilogy stands on its own and you can really just start anywhere within it, but there will be little continuity spoilers of course, mainly who winds up with who and all that jazz! Naturally, I would always recommend starting at the beginning because why not? Think of all the binging you can do! It'd be a treat to be able to do that again, because then characters will be fresh in your head and you won't be struggling to remember where you last saw "this guy" or "that girl." As usual, I've got the fuzzy memory syndrome for the most part, but names are very familiar to me, so I enjoyed myself immensely with this one!

Alyssa Rose Ivy takes readers on the most unexpected journey under the sea in her new set of chronicles, Triton. Wreck follows bird shifter Cade, who we met WAY, I mean, WAY back in the original chronicles when he fought to be Allie’s mate. We are talking old school ARI. But never fear, you don’t have to read ALL (and there is a massive amount) of ARI’s series in order to follow along where this bird shifter is now settled.

In Wreck, Cade ventures to the last place I’d ever thought ARI would take a bird shifter- under the sea and summoned by King Triton himself. Just like Cade, I wanted to see where on earth this summons was going and boy I never saw Marigold coming.

Marigold is the niece of King Triton and has believed her entire life she would one day rule the seas just like her uncle. However, very quickly ARI turns the tables when she and King Triton places the sea under the rule of a Pteron. You can guess this story quickly turned into a love/hate relationship between Cade and Marigold. Two different worlds fighting for one position as ruler? You can only guess where this story led! But in true ARI fashion she leaves you wanting more from these two never quite disclosing their fate.

ARI continues to create magical, mystifying worlds that take you out of daily life and into something so much more. She makes grown adults’ imaginations run while with infinite, I mean infinite possibilities. Although ARI doesn’t disclose exactly the entire fate of the sea, she does give just enough information to leave you gasping for more. I’m so excited to return to some characters that I’ve loved for years as well as get some more new characters in this chronicles series. Although you don’t have to read all her prior releases, I do highly encourage you to take a chance on ARI and her shifter world. Just like me, I am sure you’ll be addicted and unable to resist these Pteron kings.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

Man, Alyssa Rose Ivy has definitely done it again. This book was awesome and I couldn’t put it down as soon as I picked it up I was hooked from the first page. Yay, we finally got Cade’s love story. It was a shock hearing the announcement from the Triton King, that Cade is part Mer from his mum’s side of the family. I have so many questions like where is Cade’s mum, is this actually true and what was the reason the King actually wanted Cade to rule, like was it for the best his people or did he want Cade to wake up the Demon Water-Gods and who abducted the Triton King and for what reason? I loved the banter between Marigold and Cade as well as their instant chemistry from the very first moment they literally ran into each other.  It was cool that Hailey, Jared & Hunter were included in this story and that they all came under the sea to rescue Cade. I loved how both Marigold and Cade relax each other without even realising it.  This story was an awesome addition to the the Chronicles World and I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series, other books in this world or any release from Alyssa as she’s definitely one of my favourite authors and she definitely knows how to write a cliff hanger, wow what an ending. I’d recommend this book, series and author to anyone.

Wreck...

The Triton Chronicles book 1. Cade finally gets his story. He was in other books but this is his story to tell. He meets Marigold under strange circumstances. Each has what the other needs. Together they can save her people or so they hope. Mystery, twists and turns, a crazy funny pixie, and hella drama. As in perfect Cade sense you never know what to expect but it's gonna be one hell of a ride.

Under the sea side of interesting!!

It was overall a pretty good book. Not a fan of the few typos I found, but besides that the storyline and characters were interesting and likeable. Given the unsuspecting cliffhanger, I'm more than intrigued to see where book 2 takes Cade and Marigold.

Cliffhanger

So tired of cliffhangers but also love it. I do feel like this book is a little underdeveloped from previous books. So far nothing is tying together. I'm hoping the s er conditions book will bring some cohesion.
