Everyone knows Santa loves cookies—but will he fall for a grumpy baker?
Patrick “Finn” Finnegan has a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit. Between headaches at his patisserie and interference from his ex, he’s got a heap of trouble on his plate.
Andy Gold is just the man to sweeten his disposition. Andy’s not your typical Santa—no beard, no belly, no tacky red suit—but he’s got one heck of a singing voice and a smile that can light up the room.
When Andy is hired to deliver Finn’s holiday pastries, the attraction is undeniable. Andy has always played well to a tough audience, and Finn can’t help but warm to Andy’s sparkle. But fate may have other plans.
What happens when big dreams get in the way of true love?
Dev Bentham believes in the transformative power of true love. She’s the author of many gay romances, including Moving in Rhythm, August Ice and the Tarnished Souls Jewish Holiday series.
Over the years, she’s lived in way too many places and had far too many jobs, but she’s finally settled in frozen northern Wisconsin where she draws on her former lives to write enduring love stories in which wonderful men find each other. Her restless feet take her globetrotting whenever she gets the chance, but most of the time she’s tucked up in her office in the woods dreaming about romance.
This is definitely my favorite in the series so far. I loved that Finn and Andy were opposites attract. Finn was grumpy - though I couldn't blame him, his ex and the "battle" for franchise over Finn's patisserie could take out his joy - but he was also has a caring nature around Andy. Andy was more lively and happy and optimistic. I liked that they found each other...
... and I also liked that during their separation, when Andy got the part on the traveling show, it gave both men time to re-evaluate their dreams. During this time, Finn became more decisive, reassessing whether or not the franchise actually made him happy, and he took charge about what he could do with his passion. While Andy, who already did what he always dreamed of, became more retrospective, whether or not his dream was what he really needed.
I loved those parts -- even if the pace became slower. But yes, the separation was needed for both men to see that when they were together, at home, they were golden.

4.25 stars I liked so much about this one! Finn was grumpy and demanding, but he wasn't nasty or uncaring. Andy was sweet and had an amazing positive attitude, but he wasn't a Pollyanna or unrealistic about his goals. It skipped over most of the , but there was enough to show the changing POV for each of them. And that was a fantastic closing scene -- not too sweet, with the perfect amount of heat!
I love this author’s writing style! Gets you to the point of knowing what is going on, but in a quick, sweet way! The story of Finn and Andy is perfect in that you get to know their personality traits and how they connect without a lot of filler story lines!
