'My Love, A Liar', is the second book in a series by Ruchi Singh. After reading an excerpt on social media, I picked up this book on a whim. And, I definitely am thankful I did! A short, sweet, and a beautiful novella, I finished this sweet romance in a single sitting. After a long time, I enjoyed reading a sweet romance that was a perfect mix of love, friendship, and family.

This is the first time I am reading Ruchi's books and I liked her writing style - simple and sweet. The characterization of the main leads - Aditi and Rahul - was believable and I personally could relate to Aditi a lot. I also loved Rahul and he would be one of those book boyfriends am gonna remember for a loooong time :D.

Pick up this book if you want to read a sweet romance that makes you go awww! A perfect read for a lazy afternoon. I loved this book and would definitely pick up Take 2, which is the story of Priya and Abhimanyu!

My Love, A Liar, is a contemporary romance story that will warm every reader's heart. I especially loved the banter between Rahul and Aditi, and the author proved via the many incidents that opposites do attract.

Delightful🥰🥰🥰🥰

A sweet and loving story about 2 different individuals who has seemingly no common ground to form a relationship, forget relationship even friendship feels absolutely No…No but of course love does blossom.

Aditi and Rahul are absolute opposites to each other. Aditi has been brought up in a very sheltered and closed knit family and as per Indian culture, still nods her head to, not just her parents but also her brothers and their wives. I loved how the author had brilliantly conveyed that aspect of typical Indianness, u know where every other member in the family knows what is perfect for you, and one is expected to be the perfect girl and a puppet to others.
Her best friend, Priya has married Abhimanyu and during the wedding festivities meets Rahul, the ‘flirty everything is for fun’ guy who has no time for any socital norms and gives two hoots to all rules and regulations, but his non-chalant attitude hides a heart of gold which is visible to only those he cares about.

The caring and protectiveness comes first and Rahul begins opening up to Aditi but family drama follows with some agonizing moments for the love birds. How Aditi and Rahul find the courage to trust each other was beautifully written and loved the author’s use of simple and breezy language to convey the emotions.

Heartfelt and lovely romance!

This is a companion novella to Take 2 (can be read as a standalone story too), featuring a sweet love story between a modern metropolitan boy (Rahul) and a more traditional small town girl (Aditi).

I liked both Rahul & Aditi as characters, but there were things I wished were different, in terms of how their story progressed, and especially how it concluded. I mean they did get their HEA, I just would have preferred a more drawn out, stronger romantic climax.

Enjoyable - mainly because of Rahul! He is an absolute delight - wicked, irrepressible flirt that he is. The back and forth between him and Aditi form the crux of this romance, and the author has done a good job with the repartee. Do read this little gem.

Super cute

A very cute story yet again by Ruchi Singh. I loved the banter and the quick repertoire spattered through the story. Strong women are my favorite reads and Ruchi has not disappointed the reader in me. Great chemistry and a good storyline.

Aditi is the quintessential small town girl. One who always plays safe. Is good and listens to everyone elder at home.
Rahul is a larger than life personality who is her best friend Priya's husband Abhi's friend. So by association he is safe. Yet when it comes to the attraction between the two of them, nothing is safe.
Very true to the genre. Quick read. Cute story.

A random book recommended on Kindle Unlimited (KU) and, instead of reading books actually on my TBR or, you know, sleeping, I decided to give this a shot.

A week after reading the book I can’t say that I remember much about the book - which is a sign of things to come. The plot deals with a romance between a “bad boy” (I think) hero and a sheltered, innocent heroine. Nothing new here. However, since this set in India there references to a conservative family and our heroine’s sheltered upbring are not necessarily an obstacle to overcome, as they would be in western romances. However, the plotting makes the family so OTT that there is no clash of values to add any stakes to the romance.

The writing was inconsistent with the character veering from dramatic moment to dramatic moments. The motivations are paper thin and the characters spend a lot of time “suddenly” changing their minds (that is one adverb that needs to be banned). The heroine will be shy one minute and “suddenly” decides she wants to flirt. It comes across as quite dull as you never really get to know the characters.

There were too many last minute plot threads and characters introduced too late -
This book made me realize that there is such a thing as too much show and too little tell. There is no context to the plot developments.

The story is conventional enough but not really interesting. Give it a pass unless you are bored like me. Objectively, I should have been more annoyed than I actually was but this is actually quite a fast read so I didn’t actively disklike this.

2 stars in the end as this was not fun and cheesy as I was hoping.

A simple story of two people who meet each other because of their best friends and end up getting attracted to each other. And add to that family values, friendship and teasing.
The characters develop slowly and by the time the book came to a close, they had already created a place in my heart. The banter between the two lead characters was quite interesting.
Started the book last night and finished the book in one sitting.

A sure winner

When I started reading I thought it was going to a typical story of a non committal guy and an over protected girl. Yes it was that and so much more. The layers to Rahul's personality really tugged at my heart. And Aditi's helplesness was to much to bear at times. Couldn't put it down untill I had reached the last page.

My Love, A Liar: Small Town Girl Romance #2 by Ruchi Singh revolves around Aditi and Rahul. They are two completely different people and have nothing in common. Circumstances bring them together. This is their journey of trying to change each other or for each other. The writing style is good. I finished the book in no time as it's really short and easy to read. I would recommend it.

It is often said, that opposites attract. Most couples we witness in our circle who are deeply into love are the ones who in real are poles apart. Rahul and Aditi- the protagonists of this book are no different. While Aditi is a value based traditional girl, Rahul and morals form a mutually exclusive set.

The story is simple and moves smoothly. Cover page is attractive and so are the characters. It is one of those books which don't play with your nerve cells much and can be picked as a light read on a rainy day

Let’s start off with how wonderful the writing was. With an effortless narration that was wonderfully engaging and witty dialogues, this one is sure to blow your mind. I’m quiet skeptical about this kind of genre, and certainly do not entertain any sort of exaggeration and forced anecdotes, but in this, there was plenty of easy banter and moments that makes you chuckle. Thrown together for the wedding of their bestfriends, our protoganists who seem to be a complete opposites of each other has no idea what’s in store for them. But as time tickles by, they are unable to ignore the spark that threatens to devour them both in a passionate embrace of love, and the more they refuse, it only seems to grow stronger and fierce.
But since when did things become as easy as that ? How long can these both play the game of pretend and is a meagre indifference enough to tear them apart ? There is envy, doubts and love. But who gets to win ? Read the story to find out more.
Narration was brilliant and I felt things could have been taken at a slower pace. Like, could have added in more moments and even more Povs. It felt a bit abrupt. Nevertheless, it was an amazing read.

I rate it 3.5/5

It is second book of the series of ruchi singh.Based on protagonist couple Aditi and Rahul. It is a simple, sweet romantic love story novel.Cover of the book is amazing and the language is also easy to understand.

Aditi is a modern girl working in Delhi brought up in a sheltered atmosphere with high traditional family values.
Rahul is a free thinker with no regard or patience for archaic social norms.

Both are too different from each other and had no scope of friendship or relationship. But they met at Aditi's best friend Priya's marriage with Abhimanyu who was good friend of Rahul.Rahul's character is shown as a flirty and friendly guy while Aditi on other side is bound to her traditional values.

A short sweet romantic novel featuring characters of Rahul and Aditi. Story justifying that yes opposite do attracts. Because both the characters have two extreme opposite lifestyle and behaviour.
.
Going more for the characters. There you could sense a perfect Indian culture in Aditi's family. Where they used to nod their elders. A beautiful gesture to show respect. Aditi's upbringing is full of indian values. Rahul will be the most likeable character there for a reader. He is witty with his words and flirty with his actions. His non-chalant attitude towards things attracts more interest of a reader.
.
Here catch is how 2 opposite personality fall for each other? Will they able to counter socital old school norms? Definitely it will going to be a intresting read.
Cover is average but yes still work with the story. Narration is strong and simple. A easy read.

The quote 'Don't judge a book by its cover' can be rightly said about this one. The protagonists - Aditi and Rahul, are different from each other yet they have to tolerate each other's presence because of their friends. The chemistry as developed in the later chapters has been described in a passionate manner.
The storyline is mostly a cliche but this is also the reason that a wider audience will be able to relate with it. If only the story had more layers to it and dealt with more serious underlying issues, it could've been better.

Love is destructive at times.

Rahul and Aditi belongs to very different backgrounds. They came together by chance and somewhere feel an unbalanced relationship they are carrying. The dilemma of being in an unstable relationship has been portrayed by the author in a very profound way. This is her 2nd book. In this book, she has tried to give a message in how to carry on with a relationship. Breaking boundaries isn't enough, you ought to adhere yourself the true being of your partner. I liked the cover and title both. Writing style is simple and easy to understand.

The rating is 2.5. This is my fourth book by the author. After reading *Take 2*, my expectations were high for this book, but I was disappointed. Somehow, the story did not impress me, and I missed the spark I felt in *Take 2*. I also didn’t feel connected to Aditi and Rahul the way I did with Priya and Abhimanyu.

If you like ordinary romantic stories, this book might be for you, but it’s definitely not my type.

A romantic love story between Aditi and Rahul. Whole story is written like a narration of real life incident. Because it is so much related to our Indian values. There is no excessive drama shown which make it a beautiful read. Many events are relatable to normal life style which can be shown in day to day life.

Aditi and Rahul both are having a contrasting personality and are only tolerating each other due to the unavoidable of circumstances they found themselves in. Aditi is bound to her traditional values and Rahul is flirty, open minded and have a charming personality. Cupid does its work and both fall for each other. Will they be able to maintain their unbalanced relationship??
Read the book to know the answer.
Language is easy and narration is smooth.
Cover is attractive.

Aditi and Rahul - poles apart yet together. Cover design was a major turn off for me. Aditi and Rahul have personalities which are poles apart . Their ideologies are different, ther way of living is contradictory. Yet , here they are trying to work their way with love. It's a romance story with a decent narration. A one time read. Pace fluctuates alot throughout the book. What does destiny holds for Rahul and Aditi? Read it to find out.
