Love this addition. In some ways, each book gets better and better. For me, the humor was top notch this book: of course I love sarcastic humor -
“There’s no easy way to say this, so I’m just going to lay it out for you. Honey Martelle is gone.”
I blinked Several times in rapid succession and drank my coffee, confused. “Did you think she was just faking it or something?”
The sigh Graham let loose was a sign of extreme exasperation. “I mean her body is gone. From the morgue.”
I laughed the entire book at one time or another. The section where Scout was explaining her abduction of Bixby and the dead body to Graham was high comedy lol. I thought the story was really good this time, the vamps were the best enemy so far and we learned new things- such as the hidden paranormal bar. I also thought it really set up the next book well as one source of information of Scout's past is ready to talk and another emerged. I am really excited to read the next book.
With that being said, there are things that are beginning to grate. Her team is useless, they never do anything of note, shifters don’t shift, no one else does anything magical or anything at all really. The only other things we have seen, which isn’t much, came from Villains and yet her team are always either trying to tell her what do when they are clearly lesser than her in ability and knowledge or judging her in some way and assuming the worst. In addition, they don’t practice what they preach when it comes to themselves, like sharing info (rain), safety concerns, etc. I understand why the author would do some of this, you need character growth, I get it, but by book 3 it has started to annoy me. Move the development along please and have her team do something other than making orders, complaints, or being over protective and judgmental. They are paranormal fighting group,,,,, so fight.
I do love the series, and this author, please don't think I do not, but the Spell's Angel's are not impressive lol.
