VERY good art, cool story, but... finishing this, I wanted more and I see that there is all to be.

I shall check Aero next.

Not as good as the first volume, but still, turning into a really fun super hero story. This volume feels like it goes a little more into the trope section of the genre, which is ultimately a little bit of a let down for me, but I also can't help still be more attracted to this story than others for some reason as it still has that unique feeling to it. Maybe it's that manga style art? I don't know, but it's freaking cool.

This one ended on a cliff hanger. And a good cliff hanger at that. Unfortunately at the end of this book it says to see where Sword Master is in King in Black: Atlantis Attacks. I've already started this one and I thought maybe it would feel like the next book in line, but it doesn't at all.

The reason I bring this up is because finding out what happens with a certain someones brother and how training is going to go and whether the god of war returns are all things that I want to see concluded if I could. I hope this series isn't cancelled and is just on some kind of hiatus.

Still find it humorous that the whole reason I wanted to read this is because I started playing Marvel Snap and Sword Master happens to be one of my favorite cards 😂 And what a lucky happenstance that turned out to be as this is so much fun.

As much as I love the idea of Sword Master and it's story, it can't change that the writing is REALLY bad. Especially in these last few issues. I'm invested enough in the story that I want to see where it goes, but the actual dialogue is painful. Needless to say, I'm anticipating the next chapter of Aero far more than Sword Master.

Love the fast pace of this title! Combining that with the art style, it feels so much like a colorized Marvel manga. I really hope the title continues, both this and Aero.
The story continues right where it left off, with Lin Lie and Ji Shuangshuang fighting off the minions of Chiyou. Lin still is horrible with the sword, but is able to coax some of the power out of it. Shuangshuang comes from the Nu Wa family and she takes him back to their compound to meet her grandma, Ji Xiangyun, who is also the master of the Nu Wa fighting bracelets, another of the weapons that can defeat Chiyou. Lin learns more about the history of the sword, and begins training.
Two teasers for future Volumes: 1) The arrival of Lin Feng, Lie Lie's older brother, who seems to have a villainous streak to him, possibly setting him up as an agent of Chiyou. AND 2) Cheng, Lin Lie's friend who drives them to the temple. He is obviously of the third clan mentioned, so he, Lie, and Shuangshuang would be the next generation of fighters and protectors. (Also, confirmed by art in the supplemental of the graphic novel.)
I really like this title! Recommend.

Sword Master's 12 issue series was much like Aero's, honestly. Solid characters, a decent link to the Marvel Universe, a lot of potential for more. And then it just ends all up in the air, without even a hint of a resolution.

It's a bit less of an issue than Aero's since the story doesn't end mid-battle, but it does feel like there's a lot more to deal with here that just...isn't. A damn shame, because there's a good little backstory woven in, and some funky little bits and pieces that could have turned into something more if given the chance. I guess 12 issues is pretty good these days, but still.

Tragic that this series was never given the chance to conclude especially right as Lin's vampire ass looking brother was about to show up.
