I enjoyed this book as much as the others even if the mystery and the thief had ended in the previous one. Megan is a troubled woman.. and who could blame her after what she's been through? She had a bad experience at 17, the phase where a girl starts to become a woman. However, her bad experience gave her a gift, her son. And I would say it gave her 2 gifts, the other being Nate. Everything in a life leads somewhere and the things in her life, well, led her to him.
As for Nate, he had an abusive father but that didn't stop him from becoming a good person and "a perfect guy". "Somewhere in these pages he says "Sometimes a wind comes up, blows you off course. You're not ready for it, but if you're lucky, you end up in a more interesting place than you'd planned" and he is totally right. I am very fond of Fury's character.
It is a beautiful book that I certainly loved and I had a good laugh when Colleen appeared at the hotel, when she talked "privately" to Meg while the others were at the door and especially when Nate took care of Bax. It is true that I hate Bax but if he didn't pass by every now and then, how else could he be hit by Holt and Nate? haha... and the way that Holt watched Nate teaching Bax a lesson was a very pretty moment, especially that he had been there before.
Destiny, fate, magic and love, all mixed together and you get the perfect book.
Did anyone notice that Nathaniel in this book and Michael (in the third book of the Dream trilogy) have the same last name, FURY? Well I don't know if there's a link somewhere but both characters had a violent father. Nate's father used to hit him and Mike's father used to hit his wife. The Dream trilogy also involves a treasure hunt, cliffs and a single mother. However, I still think that both series are pretty good.
