I think many people think that in becoming a Christian their life will be easier. However, it doesn't take long to figure out that we are fighting a battle as we live for Christ. Your Battles Belong to the Lord by Joyce Meyer is a comprehensive look at how we can best live for Christ and fight the enemy in the midst of the battles of this life.

Meyer starts out Your Battles Belong to the Lord with a chapter entitled Know Your Enemy. She then progresses through the book in explaining, with Scripture to back everything up, how we should best live our life as we try to battle against the enemy. She goes in to great detail and covers so many aspects of living the Christian life that this book is one of the most comprehensive that I have read.

Your Battles Belong to the Lord is such a good book to both read and to refer back to when you feel the need to remember Scripture to back up living the Christian life and battling the enemy. One of the first Scriptures she shares in Chapter one is I Peter 5:8 to remind Christians that the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. She doesn't share through the book from a place of fear. Instead, she reminds Christians to stand strong in the Lord and shares many of the lessons she has learned through the years as she has lived the Christian life. Meyer comes across so down-to-earth in this book and shares not only her victories through the years but also her struggles. I like how well everything is backed up with Scripture. She also reminds us how we can best fight the battle through Bible verses and looking to God each day to guide us. She reminds us to keep vigilant in praying throughout the day. She has so many other good reminders through the book that are simple to remember--although they take practice to be consistent. Your Battles Belong to the Lord is a book that I would encourage every Christian to read.

This is such an interesting book in that it focuses on understanding and recognizing who your true enemy is.

The enemy is the source of many of our struggles. We may not recognize that very easily. And in this book Joyce breaks down some of the ways that we can recognize the devil; chipping away at our confidence, our peace, our fear, and even in being completely assured that God is there for us and forgives us for all things.

Broken down into easy to read chapters, full of verses and stories that represent the message she’s trying to get across, this book is a wonderful study book.

She specifically calls out things that we need to look for such as the four promises that we need to pray every day. Working through our hindrances to reach answered prayers. Understanding that our prayers are answered on God’s time not our time.

There’s so many more points in this book. I had my highlighter out from chapter 1. She gets right into how to protect yourself and your belief and strengthen your beliefs.

This would be a great book for a study group and definitely one your entire family should read. I think it would be awesome to gift this to someone who’s not sure about their belief in God. Highly motivational and written with so much clarity!

Five stars!

We are going to have battles but Meyer assures us we are in a place where we have victory in Christ. “When we let God fight our battles, we always win...” (Loc 73/3383) God will fight our battles for us, Meyer says, but we must do our part. She has written this book to help us know our enemy, his nature, his tactics, how to recognize and defeat him and to know our responsibilities in assuring the victory.

What I like most about Meyer is that she is so practical. She wants us to be educated and equipped. It is no surprise that she writes about the importance of our thoughts, keeping them in line with what God says is true of us. We are to take our thoughts captive and I like that she is realistic in saying this takes time and effort. She reminds us of the spiritual battles before us and helps us understand how to use our spiritual weapons, such as the armor of God.

Meyer is so encouraging and so positive. Reading this book, even though it is on the battles we face, is really faith building. Her stories are encouraging and her exploration of Scripture is accurate. I like that she relies so much on the truth of God's Word.

I recommend this book to Christians who want to understand more about the battles we face and how to put ourselves in a place of victory. Meyer gives us the tools we need to use to see victory. “No matter how difficult our challenges are,” she writes, “if God is with us, we have all we need to win every battle.” (Loc 64/3383)

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

I always enjoy reading Meyer's books, as she never fails to tackle spiritual battles with biblical truths, and her latest is no exception. Here, she reminds the reader who the true enemy is (Satan), and she provides ways to apply God's Word and prayer to do battle against whatever the enemy may throw our way. Meyer wants to help the reader do battle with God at their side.

If you're looking for encouragement, this is a book to check out.

This is my first time ever reading a self-help book to the end. I did this with a cousin for our Bible Study over the phone during the quarantine. I found Joyce to be both inspiring, yet contradictive at times, which too makes for a good author. I may not agree with all her advice she gave in this book but as I battle with severe depression and anxiety I will take in to account the things I did find inspirational. I am already looking forward to reading my next book of hers that I own Battlefield of the Mind.

Your Battles Belong to the Lord is a Christian inspirational/book study by author Joyce Meyer. She wrote this book so the reader would know their enemy, the devil, and realize you need not fear him. Also, to be educated and equipped about his tactics, deceits, and schemes and how to recognize and defeat him. (p. ix)

I wanted to read this book to help me with a particular problem. As a reader of this author’s books, I had read some of what the author said. However, there was also a lot of new material for me to grasp. I like that she uses lots of scripture to back up her stance.

I learned about living with a “righteousness consciousness” instead of a “sin consciousness”. Keep your thoughts focused on the fact we are righteous before God because of what Jesus had done and don’t dwell on what we have done wrong. (p.49)

I also learned that because everything is under Jesus’ feet they are under our feet too since we are the body of Christ. (p.117)

Did this book meet my expectations? Yes, it is written in typical Joyce Meyer style. Easy to read and understand. I found the book to be an encouragement, and I plan to be more than a conqueror.

I recommend this book to all Christians no matter your background.

Tips to remember when facing the enemy: (p.31)

*Seek God before anything or anyone else.

*Worship and praise Him

*Remember other victories God has given you

*Admit your total dependence on God

*Stay strong in faith, keeping your eyes on God for the answer you need

*Wait on God to speak or give you direction

*And whatever God says to you, do it!

Your Battles Belong to the Lord by Joyce Meyer is a book that helps the reader understand who and what their enemy is. Joyce is known for taking truth and breaking them down into into bite size chunks, which she does, wonderfully! She makes it easy for the reader to understand how the devil will go after believers confidence, peace, hope, patience and love.
She takes the book and breaks it down into four promises that the reader is able to pray through on a daily basis, which is something that God has been working through me on. Working through the ways the enemy attacks us in prayer, is huge. God is fighting on our behalf in His time.
This book is also about filling her mind with the truth and to let God fight our battle. How many of us try to fight our own battle? I know I have. I will try to control it, instead of seeking the truth and let God take care of it instead.
This book is so very good and has been very helpful, especially with the season of life I am. I am in a battle, but knowing where to find the enemy, has been super helpful. The enemy is tricky, but he doesn't win. I recommend this book for a small group, a study with friends or even as a gift! I really enjoyed this book.

I really enjoyed this book and found it to be helpful as well as uplifting. Joyce Meyer is a wonderful writer. Her books are always easy to understand and many times I feel like she is sitting at the table and we are having a discussion. Her books have been very helpful with understanding life situations, biblical questions, and feelings I have had. Reading her books are like talking to a friend.

This book brings to light how many times we will bring something to the Lord and lay it at His feet. However, I have found myself guilty so many times of picking it back up and not leaving it there for the Lord to take care of it. It's human nature to feel like we can take care of it ourselves. Her books are very easy to relate to and understand. She backs her information with encouragement that will uplift you and backs it up with Scripture you can read. If God brings you to it, He is always there to see you through it. If you reach a point in your life where no longer feel the presence of the Lord guess who moved. Talk to the Lord. You never will get a busy signal. You will never get disconnected. You will never be told that His number is no longer in service. He is always there 24/7 and He's waiting and wanting to hear from each and every one of us! He never closes!

Have you ever felt you tried every solution on earth to solve a problem, but nothing worked? Have you ever wondered where the difficulties you face are coming from? Joyce Meyer has answers.
In Your Battles Belong to the Lord, Meyer explains that while some problems may result from a person's choices or circumstances, others are rooted in the spiritual realm. When facing life's battles, there are certain things you must do for yourself, such as:

Diligently studying and applying God's Word
Trusting Him
Praying
Maintaining a positive attitude and thankful heart

But there are other things only God can do. When you do your part, God does His-and He is always ready and eager to defend you and help you.
Each chapter of the book helps you understand how the enemy operates and learn to counter his schemes and strategies so you can live at a new level of strength. This is a book for those who struggle with understanding why there’s turmoil in there life and understanding how to overcome it. This book gives skills to understand how Jesus has power over the devil in our lives if we solely choose to entrust in him.

One of my favorite parts was this:

Barber and pastor were walking down the street in slums. Barber goes I can’t believe in a god that would allow these bums to be addicted to cocaine. If god is so good he would never allow this. Pastor was quiet. They came across a bum that was very high and had stubble on face and long hair. Pastor goes “you can’t be a very good Barber or you wouldn’t permit a man like that to continue living like that in this neighborhood without a haircut and a shave. Indignitely the barber answered; “why blame me for that man’s condition I can’t help it that he is like that he has never come to my shop. I could fix him up and look like a gentleman.” The pastor looks and goes “then don’t blame god for continuing In their evil ways when he is constantly inviting them to come and be saved.

We cannot base our happiness on our current situations!

Do your responsibility and cast your care onto Jesus.
We lose our peace because when we think we control it.

Another important think I loved was:

Moses had a stutter
David’s armor didn’t fit
John mark deserted Paul
Timothy had alcers
Joseas wife was a prostitute
Aimesons only training was in thick tree pruning
Jacob was a liar
David had an affair
Abraham was too old
David was too young
Peter was afraid of death
Lazarus WAS dead
John was self righteous
Naomi was a widow
Paul was a prosecutor of the church
Moses was a murderer
Jonah ran from gods will
Miriam was a gossip
Gideon and Thomas both doubted
Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal
Elijah was burned out
John the Baptist was a loud mouth
Martha was a worry wart
Noah got drunk
Moses Peter Paul all had short fuse

No one is perfect other than Jesus!

Your Battles Belong to the Lord
Know Your Enemy and Be More Than a Conqueror

by Joyce Meyer

FaithWords

Christian

Pub Date 10 Sep 2019

I am reviewing a copy of Your Battle Belongs to the Lord through FaithWorks and Netgalley:

In this book we are encouraged to put on Armor of God.

Your Battle Belongs to the Lord, Meyer explains that though some of our problems may be a result of a person’s choices and circumstances others are from the spiritual realm.

This book points out too that we should choose our thoughts carefully because they ultimately become the blueprint for our lives. Meyers goes on to point out that God will fight our battles for us, but we have to show up for the fight. We are reminded too that God leads and you should follow that things will not work out if we try to reverse the roles.

We are reminded too Once you recognize the devil is real and active in the world today as your true enemy and the source of many of your struggles, you can overcome them and live a life of peace, freedom, faith and victory. When facing life’s battles, there are certain things you must do for yourself, such as: Diligently studying and applying God’s Word Trusting Him, Praying and maintaining a positive attitude and thankful heart.

We are reminded too that When you do your part, God does His-and He is always ready and eager to defend you and help you.

I give Your Battle Belongs to the Lord five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

When I was experiencing a serious personal battle, I saw the title of this book and immediately sensed that I should read it. After all, you can always count on Joyce Meyer books to be a spiritual compass for whatever you are going through. The truth is, this book is much deeper than I expected. Since it is all about the spiritual battle and spiritual warfare necessary to get through constant challenges that come our way.
Meyer is transparent about her own struggles, which encourages the reader. More than that though, she addresses the existence and power of the enemy of our soul who is always trying to defeat us spiritually. We can forget that God is a good God, and that we must be vigilant against the evil one who is ever trying to defeat and destroy us.
Whether your battle is a physical attack, a financial dilemma, or relational heartbreak, you will find the answer of holding steady and fighting back spiritually contained in the pages of this book. One caution, this is not an easy or quick read, as it is about a complex subject requiring time, prayer, and contemplative thought to understand and embrace. This book is a reminder that although the battle never stops while we are in these Earthly bodies, God will be faithful to His promises and enable His children to come out victorious in every situation.

As usual, Joyce Meyer tackles spiritual battles with biblical truth.  It is important to know who your true enemy is--Satan--while understanding that the best and only way to defeat him is through the application of God's Word and prayer.

In "Your Battles Belong to the Lord", Meyer focuses on God's nature and character to combat the strategies of the enemy.  Meyer has a gift for putting deep spiritual concepts in language everyone can comprehend.  She lists how-tos and steps to gain victory over Satan and encourages readers in their spiritual walk.

She is quick to point out that she didn't always know what to do, but she is passionate about sharing what she's learned with us so we, too, can win our battles when we trust God to fight them for us.

If you feel discouraged by the problems in your life, discover the source and find out how to defeat your enemy in Meyer's latest book.  Pre-order now for its release in September 2019.

If you've ever questioned that a spiritual battle is going on around you, Meyer presents clear evidence that evil is active in the world and working hard to insinuate itself into your life in order to separate you from God. In a very readable text, the author provides scripturally-based information and advice on how to engage in spiritual battle, Keeping in mind that the ultimate war has already been won by Jesus on our behalf, Christians are still challenged in a variety of ways by the Devil, and Meyer gives encouragement and hope for those who struggle with those challenges. The power of prayer, using the armor of God, and relying on the Lord to fight for you, are strategies that Meyer illuminates in her book.

If you read a lot of books about spiritual battle, there is not much in Meyer's new book that you probably haven't already encountered in other books, If you're still fairly new to the topic, this book is a good overview of the concept for Christians and provides good instruction for successfully engaging in spiritual warfare in your own life.

I was furnished with an advance e-copy by Netgalley.com in exchange for my honest review.

Over the years, I have read a number of books by Joyce Meyer that tackle many of the questions and concerns that Christians face. I love her clear manner of speaking that is easy to understand, yet she also digs down deep to uncover the truth of the matter, and she doesn’t gloss over subjects that others do. I also appreciate that she is open about her own life and struggles. It is so helpful to hear from someone whose experiences mirror my own.

This book is worthy of careful study for any Christian. Joyce talks about the various ways the devil tries to deceive us, and how sometimes our own thoughts of how to handle things is not the right way to go. A reminder that I really needed was to be thankful and not complain; it is so easy to get caught up in doing that and joining in with others who do.

This is another 5 star book. I am grateful that Joyce is led to write books such as this.

As always, any of Joyce Meyer's books are great! This one has been a fantastic read. Many of us have a tendency to want to have things planned out before the situation arises. Why should we really worry about things that COULD happen tomorrow?!! We need to rejoice in today and realize that the Lord will supply all our needs. I already knew this, this book just helped to make me remember it. This book also shows how the devil can use so many things to affect our minds. When this happens, we need to remember God's Word for us. There's one part in the book where it talks about going through hard times. Joyce Meyers tells us, " If God allows us to suffer, it is so He can use our trials to make us stronger, better people". This really spoke to me. This is a book that I would recommend to anyone.

I found Joyce Meyer a fascinating author. The many ways she described the ways the devil worms his way into our thinking and reasoning really knocked me for a loop. I found myself identifying with the many ways we inadvertently allow him in our ways of thinking about people, experiences and just the myriad ways we live our daily lives without even thinking of it. She is a marvelous author and evangelist and I have read and enjoyed many of her books. I would recommend this book to anyone who is having a hard time and needs an uplift in their lives. Joyce Meyer writes in clear language about faith. Here, Joyce shares about the topic of facing adversity in life and reminds readers about their core beliefs.

I have appreciated Joyce’s work for many years and was grateful to have the opportunity to share about an early copy of this book.

As readers who are acquainted with this author will already know, each idea is illustrated and explained clearly and personally. These are wonderful words of encouragement in the face of real life issues.

The book is very useful when it comes to reminding us that we are not in this battle alone. My only issue with the book is when the author starts to talk about depression. She seemed to gloss over it and made it seem like it's not something worth discussing, and also as if it was just something that could be prayed away. Christians need to come to the realization ( especially with all the Christians that have been committing suicide lately) that depression is a real thing and sometimes more than just a demonic spirit that can be prayed away ( at least that was my take on that section of the book.) Other than that, it was a helpful read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. All Thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another excellent book from Joyce! If you are walking through a battle in your life right now and need some wisdom and encouragement to help you press on through, this book should be near the top of your list!

Favorite Quote: “If God allows us to suffer, it is so He can use our trials to make us stronger, better people. Faith is useless if it is never tested. It is easy to talk about faith, but we must walk in faith to prove we truly have it.”

I have never been disappointed by any of Joyce Meyer books. This one I found exceptionally good. The way she ties in the Biblical to the everyday is amazing and they are so easy to read. They are also good to go back to when I find myself in a difficult position and need to clear the way I may be approaching an issue that requires the better way of "Having a conversation with God" as I like to call them. I highly recommend this book. Especially to those who truly believe in prayer.

I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought this book. It never occurred to me that it would be entirely about the devil even though it falls in the Christian genre. I guess I thought it was going to be more about one’s character than an outside “enemy”.

Anyway...this is the first Joyce Meyer books that I didn’t really enjoy. It wasn’t as uplifting as her other material. I could have done without this book since I don’t believe in the devil.

When you give your life to Christ, some may think that things should go smoothly. However that is far from the truth. Scripture has told us that trails and tribulations you will have.....Joyce Meyers give us a new prospective on how to be more than a conqueror.
She instills in us that the battle is not ours it the Lord and gives us insight on how to recognize the enemy at hand.
I really enjoyed this book, its a must read....

Spiritual warfare isn’t her usual topic, but she explains it in a way that people who might be weary or scared of the topic will understand it. Highly recommend this book!

Joyce Meyer is one of my favorite Bible teachers and a great preacher. This book took me awhile to read. A chapter a day (was the goal, though sometimes I get lazy to read) to absorb and instill the study. I'm proud and not ashamed to say I'm a Christian. I try to practice it. This book helps me to understand, to learn and to refresh what the Bible is meant for. Though truthfully it's really hard to reach for a Bible and I reach out for secondary study including this, it still helps me to do what is right for my daily life. A must read, and re-read. Sometimes we need to be reminded who we are to God and this will guide and remind us of what we need to do, who we are to Him and how to be a good Christian.
