Ah, disappointed!!!

If you've come for a satisfying ending, keep moving. If you want some semblance of a love story, keep moving. This short, short read had no point, was for profit only and, well, it worked if you read this sham because you've just supported it financially. The sad part...wait for it...it's a GREAT read just not long enough or had all the moving parts to be a phenomenal read.
I expected better from this author whose books I anticipate. Maybe, this was just a teaser to keep the fans entertained and the author relevant while she took a break from the rigorous toll of writing . Maybe she had nothing else to say. A teaser that really didn't explain the reason for this teaser (because I still don't know the reason for Drakon's name change if that was the point of these few pages) wasn't the way to go. But okay, I'll wait for a full length book from this author. One more attempt at keeping the masses entertained with mockeries of a read and well, I'll have to seek greener pastures.

Once again I'm impressed with the world that a lot of Khan is building with her Galaxy gladiators series. This exciting novella serves as the origin story for Shadow who is the main character in book 2 of Galaxy gladiators series.

In this novella we get to see the type of life that Shadow led prior to becoming a gladiator. It also details the situations that led up to that event.

After reading this story I was imbibed with so much compassion for grumpy scared warrior.

Can't wait for book 2

Darkon has to pay the price for his parents doing the dirty on some vicious and nasty person of higher rank than them and someone who is more powerful. Why don't parents do the right thing and be honest. Pity their kids have to pay the price. This is a short read and definitely whets one's appetite to find out how things pan out for Darkon. Definite recommendation for this story. The first of Alana Khan's books I've read and another name to add to my favorite author's list.

providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via BookFunnel.

did not finish this book only got a few pages into before I gave up.

What grown man hangs out with his mother while she is sitting around in the bra and underwear?

I did not want to read a book about parents basically pimping their son out to business men's wives for their own interests.

yeah this one was not for me.

I am so glad Alana Khan wrote is short prequel story. We have been introduced to Shadow in his own full story and how he finds love but I think we, the readers needed this one. It did give us a insight into his journey, how he list his arm and above all, the betrayal of his parents. I did felt for him. Highly recommended

This is one of my favorite short stories in this series. It was the beginning of Shadow's story and gives insight into his character. This is also where you will meet a deliciously nasty villain.
I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review.

This a short story prequel, about the results of greed. The author shows how shallow the entire family is, thinking only of the benefits they will reap, with no thoughts given to those they deceive. They are about to get the shock of their lives.

This was an excellent alien abduction book. The male is sold into slavery in this story, not just the female. I love this series. The story was great and I loved the characters. I would recommend this book.

This is an amazing book. I loved the fact that I was able to see what made Shadow the dark character he is. He faces many trials and his family does something unforgivable. It’s no surprise that Shadow struggles.

Again brilliant writing.
I was appalled at the parents and that cartel boss. Horrible. No wonder he became shadow.

Una precuela al libro de Shadow, que perfectamente podría haber sido parte de éste.

A disgusting snippet of a story with zero characters to root for. At least it only wasted half an hour of my life. 😏
