The good-natured and humorous junior graphic novel series is back, this time with Mr. Wolf's class attending a sleepover nature camp.

It's easy to tell the series creator is a teacher himself; the friendship dramas and misunderstandings of this age group will ring true to both kids and adults who remember being in elementary school. There are also more up-to-date and inclusive touches (how I wish I would have had a veggieburger option during school events!)

Another amazing entry in this great series! My favorite thing about these books are the way the author tells his stories and seamlessly weaves the different narratives of an amazing ensemble cast of characters together in such a natural way. Believe it or not, it makes me miss being a kid and being in school!!!!!

I think this is my favourite book in the series so far. I love Aziza and I like that this one where it looks at how we can all be better communicators when we hurt someone's feelings. Also, I love the story in this book about making new friends and starting an ecology club!

These books are perfect little low-stakes adventures. The author really understands kids, their moods, their interests. Plus, the artwork is beautiful.

I like when the kids have mini-nervous breakdowns for no reason. I was like that as kid sometimes.

Another cute book in the Mr. Wolf’s Class series! This brings back all of the great memories of field trips as a kid, hanging out with friends and learning along the way. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series! ❄️

Nice read!

Mr. Wolf's class is going on an overnight camping trip. They have to hike in to their campsite where they have all sorts of outdoors activities, and get to meet kids from other Elementary schools. Aziza and Randy start the trip off having had a big argument the weekend before after Aziza got hurt by something Randy did during their sleepover. And Abdi has to figure out whether some new friends are worth hanging out with.

This is a very believable outdoors experience with an upper elementary class. From the kid who can't seem to survive 5 minutes of hiking and asks others to carry her things to the interpersonal little friendship issues to the boy who makes himself sick on smores to the various reactions to being in nature. This may be my favorite Mr. Wolf's Class graphic novel. I liked how the girls worked out their issues, and the positive impact on all the kids from spending time outside.

Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content. No violence. One kid throws up (mostly just hinted at, a little gross on page). A camp leader tells a ghost story about a miner in the area who set off an explosion and they only pulled out his body but not his head. (The teachers are a bit upset at the leader for telling such a story.)

Field Trip was an interesting story. The author captures poignant moments in child's play, making new friends, and being engrossed in nature. The students in Mr. Wolf's class go on an overnight field trip to Huckleberry Camp. When I read the first chapter, I wondered why the story began with strife between two friends- Aziza and Randy. But the conflict serves as a narrative thread during the field trip. There are other conflicts that arise amongst some of the students and another class from a different school. The author uses these conflicts to render lessons on respect, forgiveness, and empathy. There are science lessons woven into the story. I appreciate the way the author allows the camp facilitators to teach lessons throughout the acitivities and the kids' positive reception to it. The kids are able to be themselves and pursue their hobbies and interests, which makes for an enjoyable story for kids to read.

Mr. Wolf's class is going on an extra special field trip to a local campground! Everyone gets to sleep in cabins, make s'mores, and hike through the woods. The forest may be sort of magical, but everyday drama follows the students on their trip, making things a little more chaotic than usual.

Another fun read following (animal) students and their everyday hijinks. Aziza and Randy are arguing; someone else isn't feeling too well; other students are getting to know kids from another visiting school. Author Steinke does an excellent job capturing the feel of an elementary school classroom, including the mild chaos, blunders, and funny (but sometimes awkward) conversations between teacher and student. A comforting, wholesome series for anyone looking for a sweet, quick read.

Mr. Wolf's Class is taking on a field trip through the woods, and they are exploring how wonderful is in the world of nature. Aziza and Randy broke their friendship, and it gets even worse on their way. Aziza was wondering that most of her friends are meeting new students from another elementary school and had their own camp names, but she was alone. Will she get both of her wants?

I also made a fanart on my Instagram page to celebrate the release day because I was totally confused on Sampson and her mother. After I finished reading it, I made a huge mistake that I mistakenly drew his mother instead of him! They both wear the same color of their hoodies! Because why did Steinke wanted to put parents in their field trip?

Today I finished #MrWolfsClassFieldTrip by #aronnelssteinke This is a great addition to the Mr. Wolf’s Class series. I liked that there was quite a bit more character development of Aziza, Randy and Abdi in particular this time. The crew takes a trip to a local campground, where they meet up with another group of students. This causes some problems amongst the classmates even as they are having fun with the other group. I feel as if Mr. Steinke, a teacher, truly understands the teacher-kid dynamic. He has a gift for telling stories that are sure to connect with kids of all ages. 5 stars.

Ah the great outdoors! This book reminds me a little of my overnight class field trip to Camp Omega... especially the part when it's lights out for the kids and they don't want to go to bed. Although, Mr. Wolf gets them to sleep a lot easier than my kids go...

Note- diverse characters (even though they're animals), some climate change/eco-political viewpoints

My real name is Diana, but my camp name is Pegasus. Not my favorite of the Mr Wolf's Class series, maybe it was the excess of focus on the port-a-potty and body functions. This one also seemed a little preachy/teachy and spent too much time on the scientific learning.

Still, Mr. Wolf is spot-on and has teacher-talk down to a T!

Another fine addition to the series. If I were teaching 5th or 6th grade, I'd have the collection in my library. This one is so relatable because it's about Outdoor School, which I think (hope) most kids experience.
Lots of fun.

These books are so relaxing to read. I love the quick climate change lesson in this one.

My only note on this series is that while the art is great, sometimes characters with long snouts have their mouths in a weird place when they smile.

I look forward to reading more!

This graphic novel is an easy read that packs in all the camp nostalgia! My first grade daughter and I have loved reading this series, and this fourth installment might be my favorite. The illustrations are playful. The coloring is bright and cheery. The characters are plentiful but endearing.

A surprisingly insightful look at the climate crisis that we as a planet are undergoing. The drama and kerfuffles reminded me heavily of 4th-5th grade, kind of cringe, and nostalgic for it.

How does no one fall off the mountain or get poison ivy? Mr. Wolf's students stress me out, but Steinke seems to have a good grasp of the differences in kids and their stress points.

I seriously love these graphic novels so much. They’re so very incidental, with so many various interconnecting little episodic interactions and I love them so much!
