What a lovely chatty book, but don't be fooled, filled with practical and insightful information on organic growing of vegetables. This was published in 1971, and I actually learned more from his experience, than a few books I've read that has been published recently. What I liked was his straightforward way of presenting his information and that he does not even use any herbal sprays for insect control.
This was an enjoyable read. I'd say it is akin to sitting down with your grandad to learn gardening. Full of good information on the basics of getting started. If you like organic gardening, this is a good book to have.
