Can this series get any better? Well ‘The Score’ ( Book 2 ) was brutal this was mind blowingly good, such a fast paced action gangland drama I could hardly read the end of the sentence for wanting to get onto the next one to see what was happening next
Again can be read as a stand alone but tbh I would read all of them as they are so good
As for the characters, Gary has to be one of the most deplorable I have ever met in a book, conniving, evil and not a care for his fellow brothers, he made me fume at what he was doing…..
So yes I really REALLY enjoyed book, this so much so I have abandoned by TBR list and am going straight to Book 4 and the final instalment in this thrilling family gangland drama

4.5 ⭐️ this is turning out to be a fabulous series, it’s gritty, it’s violent with well developed characters some you will love, others you will hate. On to the last book in the series an ARC of The Reckoning I’m so excited

Well blow me down what a Fantastic book Scorned is,it's a gritty, gripping story of the Carter family and their friends.Bethany is back and determined to destroy Tommy for dismissing her over 20 years ago and she means business. The Carters have a family that is as strong as it's weakest link and they fight for what is theirs but Gary is still being used by Bethany but is blind to it but his son see's the looks on his cold hearted mothers face.A FANTASTIC series of books 5*

The return of Tommy Carter, his family, and the woman he once rejected.

Scorned is the third instalment in the Carter Brothers series by Kerry Kaya.

I had high expectations for this book, especially after I enjoyed the first book so much. Sadly, Scorned wasn't what I hoped it would be, but I still enjoyed aspects of it. I loved seeing Tommy Carter and his family again, and I actually really welcomed the time jump where the kids were older and had something to bring to the story.

Bethany's return was the focus point of the plot and although I felt some sympathy for her in book one, she is insufferable in Scorned and it felt as though her purpose was very predictable, such as her manipulating her son to infiltrate the Carter family to benefit her plan. Also, Gary was equally as irritating, if not more. It is clear why he has such disdain for his brothers, Tommy especially, but to try and ruin the harmony of the family after everything they have been through is a low blow.

I still love the relationship between Tommy and Stacey, and seeing how they navigate raising their children 20 years on from the first book was lovely. Pete, Karen, and Jake were great additions to the story. Karen and Jake were mostly present as they had their individual sub-plots which eventually caused tensions amongst the family.

I had a soft spot for Jimmy in the first book, and it was nice to see him take on a support role after a significant event happens in the book (no spoilers!). Jimmy loves his brothers, and family as a whole, so it was nice to see him step up and be the figurehead during a time of need.

Ideally, it wasn't the ending I wanted for the Carter family, but Kaya made the reality of gangland crime very clear, which I appreciate. Onto the fourth and final book!

Keeps you on the edge of your seat

The 3rd book for the Carter gang and it doesn't disappoint.
With Tommy still holding the rien as Top Dog he doesn't need to be getting his hands as dirty as he use to. He has it all. Stunning loyal wife who he has been with since teenagers and 3 young adult children, his brothers working by his side who are feared by other gangs and enough money for the rest of his life. What more could he want in his perfect life...
Karen meets a new man
Jake has a hidden secret
Are all brothers who they seem
Nothing can stay perfect forever.....

Wow!!! Book one was outstanding, book two was incredible and his third book was out of this world. I couldn’t put it down and started to feel anxious as the story went in a direction I hated, and the characters I despised so much in the first book took such an evil twist I longed to see them pay for what they did.

So many gripping moments, so many twists, I honestly don’t know how Kerry managed to put it altogether, but I’m bloody well thankful she did.

Book 3

Don't read this book unless you've read Barking Boy and Top Dog.
This series is so easy to read, I read this book in less than a day. The author has confirmed another book will follow but maybe not until next year. In the meantime I'm going to read Plus One and My Brother's Best Friend (the latter is written under Kerry Carter)

I couldn't leave it down until I was finished and the story takes up straight away from the storyline of the last book. There is a lot of betrayal in this one and despite what happened, I wanted to believe that Tommy would walk in at the last minute. I do hope that there will be another book to complete Danny's story.

Wow! I’m not a big reader, it usually takes me weeks/months to finish a book but this one took me one and a half days!!!! It kept me gripped the whole way through, so many twists and turns, my heart rate was through the roof so many times as well! I couldn’t wait to finish it but so sad it’s now over! Although on the plus side I can start The Reprisal now!

This was gritty gangland at its best. A fast paced page turner.
Kerry Kayas books are getting better and better.
The 3rd book in the Carter series and we are back to Tommy Carter again.
20 years have passed for Tommy and his brothers and his children are grown up now although two of them are causing Tommy all sorts of problems.
Also a certain person is back for revenge.
Family is everything to Tommy but can you trust all of them?
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Just amazing! I've loved every second of every one of Kerry's books. Fabulous storyteller, an action packed rollercoaster from the first page. Remember though, if you want happy characters, she don't do that here 😂

This was good but a little detail irritated me. Tommy’s older son’s name was Peter in the first book now it changed to Liam. I guess author forgot the name and why he was named after Staci’s dead brother.
