Price McNealy was a modern-day outlaw. He thumbed his nose at society’s rules, regulations, and laws, not caring what anyone thought of him, or the actions he somehow justified.

If I made a list of why “not” to be with a man, he’d check all the boxes.

He was also confident, trustworthy, and loyal. When he wanted to make a point, he did so with a brash elegance that I wouldn’t expect to come from a self-proclaimed thug.

In short, Price McNealy was trouble.

Big trouble.

I had every reason in the world to refuse him service when he sauntered into my bar.

For a fleeting moment, I thought about it. The next thing I knew, I was bent over with my pants around my ankles.

My bar was packed at the time, but I simply couldn’t say no to him. When it came to denying Price’s desires, I was in trouble.

Big trouble.

NOTE: THUG is a stand-alone romance. It has no sex outside the relationship, no cheating, and no sexual triggers. It ends with an HEA, and is a romance novel in every sense. It does, however, include a sex scene (or two) in a public places. These scenes are consensual and tastefully depicted and steamy as hell. If sexual depictions are beyond your romance realm, read the free portion and see if this book is for you before purchase.

The hero in THUG is the president of an outlaw motorcycle club. The book loosely depicts the life of a motorcycle club but does not include non-consensual sex, club whores, sex outside the relationship, cheating, or lying.

What in the fuck just happened?

If you’ve never read a Hildreth novel, NOW is the time to do so. Holy cow. You’ll carry this one with you for a long, long, time, guaranteed.

In his newest novel, Hildreth does the unthinkable.

A romance novel, by recipe, is to have the hero and heroine meet early, feel “something” for one another, and, eventually, be torn apart. They then reunite, resolve their differences, and live happily ever after.

This is a recipe Hildreth hasn’t followed (or even come close to following) in the past. His H and h have run the gamut on their romantic travels, but they do not fall in with what works for other authors, the genre, or within the limits of simple basic rules of the craft.

This book?

It hits those marks and does so without feeling like it’s planned. It’s natural if a romance novel ever has been. Its sex scenes are hot as fire without being unbelievable. While on the subject on believability, this entire novel (although it drags us into the life of true outlaw MC members) is believable.

There’s kidnapping, some violence, sex in public places, and a wide range of colorful (and very well crafted) ancillaries. Somehow it works and works well. Not once was I scratching my head and wondering “what the hell is he going to do next?”

Gray Forester, a bar owner in Marana, Arizona, caters to bikers. A local motorcycle club patronizes her bar. Their offerings pay her rent. She makes ends meet, and that’s about. Then, one day, the local legend, Price McNealy saunters in.

The President of a LARGE outlaw motorcycle club (the Hard Eights), he’s confident and cocky, but always in control. When Gray’s smart mouth challenges like no one ever has, he reacts. To the tune of bending her over the bar (while it’s packed full of people) and pounds her full of his “Hard Eight”. The sex (if you’re wondering) was more than consensual. So begins a rather “interesting” relationship.

It just so happens that Gray’s father is the enforcer for the notorious Hells Angels, a rival MC. If her father catches wind of Price and Gray bumping uglies, it’ll likely be over for them both. Over, as in, they’ll be taking a dirt nap in the desert.

Holy cow this book was one fast-paced ride. There was not a lot of club BS littering up the story, but nearly every scene had one o the club’s members in it at some point.

The focus in this book was the H and h, the story, and the relationship, WHILE the world kept spinning.

Long, at over 300 pps, this book never once (not even for one page) needed skimming. It was filled with everything it needed, and had nothing it didn’t.

A must read for anyone wanting to live IN a romance novel. (Isn’t that why we read them?). You will be immersed in the pages of this one, and there you will remain for some time after it’s over.

Treat yourself to THUG. You won’t regret it for one “I had to dig my own grave in the desert” moment.

I don't know...
I like it...maybe. 😕
It wasn't very romantic, it was little fanny, too much blablabla.

While this one was a MC book it didn't have a lot of that in it. The book more focused on the relationship between Price and Gray, which I liked. Price definitely doesn't run his club like most, as witnessed by his behavior with Brisco. I liked how things worked out there and how everything was exposed to the club and to Gray.

Gray was interesting. She totally knew about the MC life, liked it and found a way to be a part of it with her bar. I liked how things changed for her when Price and his guys started coming around. It was a good thing she was familiar with the MC life with all that she had to go through, other women would have ran at any number of points.

Gray and Price were great together. I liked that they were honest with each other, even when Price said there were times he couldn't talk, but he would tell her he couldn't talk, not lie. That felt like it was ok to me.

I really liked how this one ended, loved that things are good with the club, with the bar and that Price and Gray are building a life together.

Don't Judge...

Scott Hildreth has once again delivered a MC book that delivers a story, varied points of view, ideas other than the norm, and characters that might not necessarily be your next door neighbor but ones that you’d be lucky to have in your corner. Grab this book, read with an open mind, and you might just find yourself looking at life a bit differently.

Price and Gray are absolutely perfectly fitted puzzle pieces.  Both and open and forthright.  You never have to question where you stand with either.  Traits that serve one well in the storyline and real life.

Price is a bit of a loaner.  He leads a life of solitude and leads his MC.  Not exactly by the books but for the good of his community.  But Gray, the owner and woman that’s gotten more than a passing interest from him, might alter his style.  The two have a chemistry that is explosive. Gray is willing while Price is reluctant. But when Price’s club life and personal life collide, it’s a tough call.  Club loyalty and brothers versus a woman that is strong enough to endure him.

Add in a colorful cast of club members and a new friend and you have heartfelt and funny look into the MC world. Price is a man that highlights the phrase of still waters run deep. Few words but well spoken meanings...

This was a story about life.  A man of few words but of character along with a woman that owns her worth.

A MUST READ!

What a fan-flippin-tasic surprise release from Scott Hildreth!  This author knows how to write an MC book with heart, heat and a realistic twist that keeps you hooked until the very end!

Thug is the first book in a brand new series and I am beyond excited.

This story is an introduction of the crew of the Hard Eights MC, it's also the story of Price and Gray.

Price is the president of this group of outlaws and he is the epitome of "Still waters run deep". He doesn't talk much but when he does, it means something.  He has a strength and determination in his convictions and with his past, you can see why he chooses the life that he does.

Mr. Hildreth is phenomenal with his heroines and Gray is no exception! She has a no holds barred, brutally honest and is not afraid to tell Price what she wants.  She is what every woman should strive for!  Her past gives her an excellent knowledge of what it means to be with Price and what she goes through with the club just makes me admire her character more!

The chemistry between Price and Gray is hotter than Hades and sometimes laugh out loud funny like a good relationship should be!

The introduction to the rest of the characters in the club is fantastic and I cannot wait to read about the more in future books in this series!

Mr. Hildreth brings an honest, almost down to earth feel to his stories and it's one of the many things I admire about his work! Another amazing story and a brilliant beginning to a new series!  Well done Mr. Hildreth, well done!

So good

I don’t know how he does it. But each one of Scott’s books are better than the last. Gray is a bad ass. No other way to put it. She takes crap from no one. And dishes out as much as she gets. Price is Price. His way or no way. But Gray is able to balance him and it’s amazing.

I really enjoyed this book. Great characters, loved the banter and the story. Sweet and romantic. I really felt the love and connection between price and grey. The heart was there but one thing I would have liked more was heat and passion.

This book is crass and horribly offensive. It's my first favorite of the year.
Grey owns her own biker bar. She's had a tough life but she's one smart cookie. She's realistic about her attraction to confident assholes. When she meets Price, she's pretty much done for.
Price doesn't usually care one way or the other about women. He's all about his brothers and the outlaw life. When he sees Grey, he hones his sites.
Thug was, in all honesty, well written and hilarious. I adored the family Price and Grey became as well as some really sweet moments between them. If you like a good story, Scott Hildreth is always a sure thing.

Scott's MC books are usually the standards for the MC Genre romance books. But it wasn't my favorite as I did not feel the connection between the two main characters. I even felt Price was a bit weak as a MC president. His wrath should of been evident when he learned what happened to Gray in the desert. That was no small picnic that she was subject to by his men without club knowledge. I felt her pain and even though she felt it was a test and she had a dramatic rescue, He should of been more wrathful. He apparently specialized in anger.

There is always a rich background of character development. I didn't feel Gray's background...how and when did she come to that bar? It took money and not much given as to those details. She apparently had no one, even friends. It seemed bleak.

About that shocking first night at the bar which might of set some sort of standard for them or the other men. But there seems to be no other women in bar ever. The men were hardly interested in the act. Weird. A weird balance...

I don't see any secondary characters to write home about... Cactus Jack was interesting but more as a fountain of background or wisdom.

The cats were interesting and added some quirk. The Arizona setting was awesome.

So I didn't hate the book but I didn't love it.
My rating is to let you decide....but to me, Scott has had way better characters and books.

All Gray Forrester wanted was to run a successful biker bar and have a family of her own one day. While she had the bar and it was doing okay, everything changed the day the president of a rival club walked through her doors.

Price McNealy, outlaw and president of the Hard Eights doesn’t trust many people. After he runs a rival club out of town, Price decides that Gray holds more than a little interest for him, which is rare when it comes to women and decides to have his club patronize her bar. What happens from that point on is nothing short of spectacular.

Don’t judge this book by the blurb. Heck ya, it is hotter than hot, but there is so much more. It’s not all about sex, but the forming of a loving relationship between two people that have no reason to trust one another. It’s watching a club of hardened outlaws come to care for a woman as their sister. And, it’s learning to not judge an outlaw by what laws he breaks, but why he breaks them.

The cast of characters is fabulous and unexpected. I can’t wait for Panzer and Briscoe to get their own books (pretty please, Scott?) And, Cactus Jack was as spectacular as he was surprising and added so much to Price’s story and background.

With an off the charts heat level, humorous banter, a kidnapping, some revenge and a bar full of outlaw bikers, Thug was one of my favorite Scott Hildreth books to date and I cannot wait for more in the Hard Eights series! 5 stars!

Amazing Read

Upon finishing Thug, it took me a several minutes to digest the phenomenal story that Mr. Hildreth gave us with this book. I was very surprised to get the news of the release of Thug and it couldn’t have come at a better time. My bad day turned into a great day once I started reading about Price and Gray.

I am always amazed at the amount of talent that goes into Mr. Hildreth’s books. Thug is a thinking book. It’s not a romance book full of fluff and sex. It has depth and content that will make you think like great mashed taters will stick to your ribs. It is THAT GOOD. The characters are unique and refreshing. Each one brings their own bit of shine to the book. Mr. Hildreth flipped it on me though. I totally felt one way about a character at the beginning, only to be surprised about him later. And let’s not forget the humor that is sprinkled throughout this book. Reading through it I could imagine the conversations like I was a part of them. That right there makes the story so much better.

Great job Mr. Hildreth. Another great story. I can’t wait to see where this series takes us.

Had to read twice...back to back

I believe I have read all of Scott Hildreth's books. A few I didn't care much for. There are a lot I liked. This book? Seriously, this is his best yet. From the beginning to the end. He does have a way with words.... Gray is a woman who knows what she wants. She got it right when she described her addiction. "My addiction? A confident man. Not every self-assured male had the capacity to quench my desires." Price? When he said "....but it was her willingness to express her opinion that made her irresistible." That is what makes a book move from a romance to a romantic read.

Learned a new word today. Satyromaniac (plural satyromaniacs) A man with excessive sexual desire. My question is 'Where is he? "

Fav quote and words to live by:
If you can’t speak the truth, don’t speak.

i have to give this book 5 Stars even though he had a few grammatical errors. It didn't take away from the story, but I noticed. (I did contact the author to let him know... have to love Facebook messaging and independent authors. ) Looking forward to Book 2.

This book was a surprise release by Scott Hildreth and boy did it meet all my expectations of a Scott book and then some. The Hard Eights series books will be a hands down one-click every time for me.

Price and Gray are perfect for each other and fit so well together that it's impossible not to love them from the very start. The two of them have been through so much but it only makes them stronger in the end. They will make you laugh and make your heart melt...along with other things. The heat between them is nothing but fierce through out this book. Price an alpha all the way but Gray holds her own with a sassy smart mouth and it is great to read.

As always, Scott has really developed his characters, and secondary characters, that I really hope I will see again in more stories. You truly feel like you know Price and Gray from the beginning to end with this book.

I would recommend this book to anyone.

This is only the first book and I am already excitedly waiting for more! This motorcycle club aka gang is differently ran which is always interesting in itself. But as with all of Scott's books one thing is for sure, you don't have to be blood related to thirty or more brothers. Price and Gray have to me up to date the best pairing! Price definitely meet his match when he walked through the doors of Gray's bar. That woman is straight forward, tells it like it is, loyal and is not afraid to speak her mind. Price with his temper that could diffuse at any minute likes the fact that he finally found someone that helps him control his anger issues. Trust me I am sure his band of brother's are definitely thankful not so sure about the donut bakery lol.
This is a must click book! I laughed so hard at times I thought I would cramp up from stomach pains, and other parts made actually see who Gray and Price really were.

Scott Hildreth does it again with this new MC series. I just loved Thug so much. I had a huge smile on my face the entire time I read this one. I'm so excited about this new series and you are going to love the men of Hard Eights MC. Gray is just fabulous and I want to be her. She has this mix of sweetness with that draws you in. Price what can I say about him other then his Alpha ways will leave you fanning yourself throughout Thug. I love how Price treats the men in the Hard Eights. The antics Gray and Price pull will make you laugh out loud bc you know pay back. You want to know what it is then you really need to read this. I mean seriously it is a Scott Hildreth book and he's giving you a new series why not jump in for the beginning of this. I couldn't put this down at all. I can't wait for more to come.

Surprise release from author Scott Hildreth is an instant gift as a reader and a one click must!
Getting a new MC book from Scott just made me smile huge! He writes MC better than any other author I've read! He knows how to bring the MC world to the pages so deliciously with characters that just can't help but to be loved. These characters, as with past characters, just make me want to be the girl- she gets an Alpha that makes me want one just like him and is a person to love herself! I absolutely love how Scott writes these characters-they compliment each other and bring everything i want in a book!
Another terrific read by author Scott Hildreth! I'd give it 5 stars or more because I love the storyline and characters, however, editing errors always stop me from giving that 5 star review (not many, but it's part of my rating scale)
Yall are going to want to read this!

Absolutely Phenomenal and I’m Blown Away Once Again .

There really aren’t any words that I can use to describe this book . Scott Hildreth once again raised the bar, this is some of his best work to date. Price is now my new ultimate, which is hard for me to say because the previous MC Series which rocked my world. But he is definitely an amazingly intriguing character that I can’t get enough of.
Gray is phenomenal, I loved her right from the start. This book is such a crazy and incredible ride , I never wanted to get off. And I know just from reading about the other guys in the MC , this series is gonna be an experience you don’t want to miss.

I firmly believe this story will blow your mind and is an absolute must read.

Thug is the first book in the new Hard Eights MC Series. I was excited to get a new book by SH and fell in love with all these new characters instantly.

Price McNealy is the president of the MC. He has a terrible temper and doesn’t trust others easily. However he’s a good guy and a very likeable leading man. Gray Forester is a beautiful, spitfire bar owner with a smart mouth. She’s not intimated by Price or the other members of the MC, and was a fun, endearing character.

There is very little drama and a sweet, happy ending. We meet a number of great secondary characters that I liked very much, and am looking forward to reading each of their books. Thumbs up for another great book by this author.

Scott Hildreth is back with a whole new club of bikers to love! THUG was such a fantastic read. The story was captivating and I couldn’t get enough of it. In face, I am writing this review at 4am because I could not put it down! I laughed through this book, I was in the edge of my seat through this book, I just thought it was absolutely fantastic!

The characters I love already. Gray was such a great heroine. Strong, feisty, determined. She was exactly what our hero needed. Price was hard not to love. I fell for his character instantly. I freaking love him. His back story breaks my heart.

I can’t wait to find out more about the Hard Eights guys! I am really looking forward to the next book, that’s for sure!

I Could Not Put It Down Until I Finished

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was a little worried because of some of the reviews. This book was so good I read the sample immediately purchased it and stayed up all night to finish it. I loved this story! Price was a tough guy who had a horrible start in his young life. He is honorable and true to his word. He and Grey have sizzling chemistry. This book had hot times , humor, and the way the guys talked to each other was funny and like family. I enjoyed this book so much I will read it again. The writing was engaging and I flew through the pages feeling this story I will read more of his books after this gem. JUST BUY IT! But don’t start at night like I did because I couldn’t put it down!

You said Thug was your best book yet, Scott, and I have to agree! 5 STARS!

There's no better kind of man, in my opinion, than a tall, muscular, tattooed tough guy who oozes confidence! So much confidence that it "squishes from the soles of his shoes with each step he takes..." When you mix him with a band of loyal, badass brothers and a strong-willed, self-sufficient woman who's comfortable in her own skin and knows what she wants, you get Price, Gray and Hard Eights MC in Thug.
Thanks for the good time, Scott! I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the brothers!
You want to read this book, people! Trust me.

The book was just okay. I wish the author spent more time on character and relationship development. I felt like I didn’t really know much about Price or Gray and was confused as to how they went from meeting each other to falling in love.

Nothing really happens in the book after he meets her at her bar besides the issue with Brisco. There’s no conflict, no romance, or any development in their relationship.

It pretty much went from them fucking behind her bar the 2nd time they meet to having feelings for each other.

It was safe, no OW drama, and hero seems to have been celibate for quite some time.

So many good things about this book.

I am generally a Scott Hildreth fan, but many of his books have things common to each other that bug me. This book had none of them. It was nearly perfect. My only complaint is that there were typos, misspellings, and misused words (like using principal when principle should be used). The book was so good that I could mostly look past those, plus they're common mistakes. I love MC books for the makeshift families, and this book definitely had that. If you like MC romance, you will likely enjoy this book. I absolutely did. I like all of this author's MC books to some degree, but this is my favorite so far.

I don't really get the title to this one, Price is his road name and mostly it's the others doing any beating. In actual fact on the whole this was quite tame, only marginal violence and a kidnap. Most of the plot really was about Price and Gray finding family and a a connection, both having had unconventional backgrounds. For Price I would have liked him to have some justice for his parents and the truth to have come out but I guess he found some peace to deal with it by finding love. I loved how most of the guys immediately took to Grey, instantly taking her as one of their own even before her relationship was defined as such. This story had it's gritty issues but it was a book easy to get hooked into, the pace is steady and the characters easy to like, even Brisco wasn't all bad. I really enjoyed it and hope there will be more of these men in the future.

This story, simply put, is AMAZING! Price and Gray are goals.
Gray owns a biker bar in Marana, AZ. It soon becomes the Hard Eights’ hangout after the local rival gang is booted out. The Eights’ president, Price, quickly falls for Gray, although he doesn’t truly realize it until catastrophe strikes.
Thug is fast-paced and full of action. The ancillary characters are some of the best Hildreth has ever written. I can’t wait for the rest of this series! You don’t want to miss this page-turner. Do yourself a favor and one-click it NOW!

Hard 8's

Seems like a good start to this series! A real strong foundation with lots of great characters... I have to say Cactus Jack is my favorite so far, I just hate his age. I've read a lot of Mr. Hildreth's books and his book Ghost prices he isn't above killing off a special character and for me, that brings out the grief in me. Yep ugly crying with snot and everything! Great start Mr. Hildreth, can't wait for more, but could you keep 'JustJack' around for a while? A good long while, please!
(Maybe Jack and Marcella will meet somewhere down the road???)
