FROM THE MODERN MASTER OF THE ACTION ADVENTURE M.I.A. HUNTER SERIES A NEW KIND OF MISSION…
Domestic terrorism. The worst kind.
A tiny US town on the Mexican border. Remote. A big day for this minuscule rural community. The President and First Lady are in town with their entourage to honor a deceased grand old man of the Party. A quick in-and-out visit to pay their respects and they’ll be home in DC before dark.
Things go to hell when the crazed, homicidal Elkins clan hits town with their own bloody agenda. POTUS is taken hostage. Demands are made “or the executions will begin.”
Back in Washington, CIA field agent Sara Durell, satisfied in knowing her friend, Jack Cody, has at long last left government service, healed from the personal tragedies that earned him the nickname Suicide Cody. But Sara’s world goes suddenly intense when once again she and Cody—this time separated by thousands of miles—must risk their lives to combat a brutal home front crisis.
Domestic terrorism, realistic and scary story. The President and his wife are paying respects in a small town to one of their own. Disaster strikes. Breath holding until the end. Ready for the next.
Another fantastic story from the master of action/adventure. Once again we find Cody hip deep in it along with his friend Sara. Plenty of action and the storyline keeps the pages turning with the plot going most of the way to the top and no one knowing who to trust.
We first meet the Elkins family: Jud and Sandra Elkins, and their twin sons, Bo & Tod, Jud is the head of a nation-wide militia.
Jack Cody has taken time off from his busy life as a one-man wrecking team who lives to protect our country from evil.
Mike, a Deputy Sheriff, has just brought his high school best friend, Jack Cody, to Dry Mouth, Arizona, population 232, located just north of the Arizona/Mexican border. One good reason for Cody’s visit is to visit his brother, David, who lives there.
In the mean time, President Milhone and his wife have also arrived to Dry Mouth for the funeral of a widely-known 97-year old Jefferson McDaniel, a highly respected Vietnam Veteran and former legendary diplomat.
Then the unexpected happens: Jud, his gang, and members of his militia, capture everyone attending the funeral in the church, including the president, his wife, and David.
From then on, the story has you in your seat trying to stay focused and learn what’s going on. It’s one thrilling adventure as Cody finds himself in the middle of all the action that takes place after Jud militia takes control of the president.
This book was quite literally the biggest bunch of bullshit I have ever read. I had to make myself finish it. There were so many characters created in this story you could not keep them straight. The absolute ridiculousness created for each character was undeniably beyond belief so unbelievable. I did not not enjoy this book and would not recommend.
About chapter 30, this one went off the rails. The tone and language changed so drastically, it’s almost like someone else finished the book. Typos and word errors too.
