Read through this excellent reader's edition again in July 2024. DIdn't notice how much more the Chronicler adds his editor-touch by noting so many times where various figures (Kings, priests) talk about reform and forgiveness. The most obvious differences between Kings and Chronicles, of course, are the absences of both David's and Solomon's faults (Bathsheba, concubines).

I really enjoy this readers set from Holman. The CSB can be informal at times, which I'm not used to (coming from the NASB and then ESV) but it makes reading the O.T. narratives a bit easier.

I use readers sets like this one to cover "gobs" of Scripture at a time. For that, this edition is really nice.

Thick pages, even, consistent, large print, and quality binding. (2022)
