Gripping terror ensues when Lourdes strikes again!

**Possible Minor Spoilers**

Travis offers promises of an intense battle, as this novel pits mother and son against each other in a fantasy Bulgaria with a ruling Vampire Counsel. When the rogues start scheming for power, no human is safe. Not even the bride of the heir to the controlling seat on the Elders Counsel. He will leave no stone unturned in the search for his beloved Jess.

I have previously detailed my love for TL Travis’ work, therefore, it is no surprise that I enjoyed Consequences: The Elders Trilogy Book Two. While I have some minor criticisms, it is overall a paranormal experience you absolutely need to sink your teeth into!

Jess is great, don't get me wrong, and I love that she's not the typical urban fantasy heroine - you know the type, "the one" with the special power she doesn't even know she has that she uses to save the world or get free from dark, moist dungeons. Jess's internal monologue is a low point. It's repetitive and sounds like she's narrating a movie in her head. She's In love with David and she knows what he is, so why does she keep reiterating to herself how much she fears being turned? On the upside, I have to agree with and am quoting Lily Luchesi here, “I thought she fit the classic femme fatale you see in old vamp stories. She has that Lucy vibe”. Yes, I'm happy to say Bram Stokers Dracula was referenced in the story. However, Consequences is a bit of a short book, and when I think of how much time Jess spends illuminating us on her negative feelings, I am slightly annoyed. So I have mixed feelings, obviously.

Overall, Travis doesn't disappoint. There's a few sizzling erotic scenes that I've come to expect and appreciate, believe me she did not disappoint in that area. There's also fantastic battle scenes; intense, suspenseful, ripping arms off kind of fights. I will definitely be continuing to read this series, and I can't wait to see what the rogues come up with next!

J. Andrizzy-Gold said in their review, “TL Travis is the queen of cliffhangers.” I heartily agree with this. Book one and two now have monumental cliffhangers that leave you aching for more. Of course that is exactly what she was hoping to achieve so that the reader is left drooling and wanting more, lol. I can only pray to the gods that the third installment comes out soon. Great job, Travis!

Picks up where The Awakening left the reader hanging ...

I've read a lot of Travis's books, and I read The Awakening that comes before this one. Any reader should read that one first, to understand what's happening in Travis's latest release of The Consequences. Jess and David's story just gets better, as they realize the consequences for them wanting to be together. It's filled with magic, mayhem, and sex. I like that it has a lot of levels of paranormal that intertwines with romance, and of course, survival. I enjoyed Travis's latest and I look forward to more.

I love this series.

This has everything I wanted. The danger and suspense with love and romance. Even when you think you know what's going on, there are still some twists and surprises. All of it leading to you wanting more. Yes it has a cliffhanger ending but it works for this type of read.

Good read

Ugh I hate cliffhangers! This was a great follow up to the first book. The characters are awesome and I love the story line.
